Nothing brought on the Christmas spirit quite like caroling.

[ 👻 ] – “Would you cut it out with that blasted singing? There’s more than one line to that carol, you know!”
“And besides. I can tell it’s not Terror Time yet.” ‘Yet’ was the word that Whisper’s current cool hinged on.

“’Yo-kai’? I’m guessing that’s not a species of Pokemon.” His proclamation, nonetheless, provoked a respectful clapping and ‘ohhh’ from the girl, paying respect to his theatrics.
“Any ghost? Then… Hm… What about a Gengar?”
[ 👻 ] – “No, it’s quite different.” He’d elaborate further if he weren’t busy trying to impress. Upon being given a ghost to look up describe, Whisper quickly took to the challenge.
“I know about that! Just, er, give me a moment...”
And out came his tablet, which he not-so-secretly checked by turning his back on Acerola as he searched through the Yo-kai Wiki.
“What do you mean, ‘no results found for Gengar?!’ I need that information now!”

Mizuki could be a little out of it sometimes but to be seeing a ghost? Well, that was a little much even for him. The black-haired athlete stared closer for a moment before slapping his cheeks and looking closer again. Nope, the ghost was still there. Perhaps it was a costum… where were its legs?
“Did I die?”
[ 👻 ] – Whisper was no stranger to the odd looks and glances given by the city’s more corporeal residents, but having someone question their own mortality was definitely a new one to him.
“Oh, heaven forbid! You’re about as dead as an incredibly healthy doornail, I’d say.”
“Although, with dashing good looks like these, I’m hardly a vision of lifelessness either.” Cover up those wrinkles, Whisper. You could give the boy a heart attack.
[ 👻 ] – i’ve still got it
[ 👻 ] – but would you smooch a ghost

“Yup, I meant you of course!” This place seemed to attract all sorts of spirits. Though it wasn’t that surprising considering the nature of the locale. “You’re a pretty lively one, huh?” Which was a joke. He was a ghost. Lively? Get it? “You aren’t actually scared of other ghosts, are you?”
[ 👻 ] – “Of course I’m not!” More like scared of embarrassment. “Young madam, I am a professional Yo-kai! If I were afraid of my own kind, then I would most certainly be out of a job!”
“Name a ghost -- name any ghost -- and I can show you just how much I know about them!”
“Vould it be too much to offer a flying sleigh ride..For a charge?”
[ 👻 ] – “A sleigh ride? With Santa?! Oh, spirits be praised! I’m so happy I could almost fly!”
Komasan and USApyon got their own holiday specials. Finally, finally, it was Whisper Time!
“I’ll gladly give you my Christmas money in exchange for a million sleigh rides, Saint Nick! Or can I call you Mr. Kringle? I’ve been very especially nice this yeaaaar...”
Hey, anything to help sweeten the pot. A chance like this never happens to him!
“There’s a G H O S T behind you. Aren’t you afraid?”
“AAAAHHHHH! WHERE?!”
[ 👻 ] – Whisper looked around in a hurry, torn between being terrified and dumbfounded until...
“Oh, ah-ha-ha-- you meant me, didn’t you? Why, yes, ah-- I knew that! Why wouldn’t I know?”

[ 👻 ] – “Hmm... It doesn’t say. Apparently it’s derived from ‘Pocket Monsters’...”
“Seems rather ridiculous, if you ask me. They’re much too big to fit in anyone’s trousers!”
Don’t tell Whisper he doesn’t have any pockets. Man (or Gem) was not meant to know where he keeps his Yo-kai Pad.

✦► “There’s only a month until Christmas and it doesn’t look like I’m going home anytime soon… I hope my mom can forgive me.”
[ 👻 ] – “No child should be separated from a loving family! Especially not around Christmastime.”
“I’m no parental substitute, but there must be some way I can brighten your spirits! Perhaps with some enlightening educational facts? I really wouldn’t mind -- it’s my duty, you see.”

Whatever it was- a yo-kai, whatever that might be -it could apparently speak, Solo noted. Solo simply stood in silence for a moment, debating how to respond. He didn’t really want to admit that he had never seen a yo-kai, nor did he know what one was, as that would hurt his pride somehow. On the other hand, he didn’t want to get himself into a situation where he had to lie his way out- not that he minded lying when it was necessary, just that he never wanted to end up looking like a fool.
He grunted slightly, casually placing a hand in a previously-hidden pocket. “Yo-kai? Can’t say I’m too familiar with them.” He settled for a compromise, admitting he wasn’t entirely aware while stressing a certain word to imply he wasn’t fully oblivious. His voice was low, and he sounded frustrated. Not that he didn’t usually sound frustrated…
[ 👻 ] – Whisper would have liked to get back to crushing candy and matching jewels, but he could tell that the young man needed some direction. And who better to provide it than his lovely self?
“Well, you did catch me at a busy time, but I suppose I can give you a brief explanation.” Pressing his Yo-kai Pad safely to his chest, Whisper puffed himself up and delivered his spiel.
“Yo-kai are invisible spiritual beings who cause everyday phenomena all over the world! I happen to be quite the specimen myself. You ought to consider yourself lucky to meet me.”

“Seriously? Man, I hope I don’t start feelin’ guilty for eatin’ ‘em. That’d be a real pain in the ass.” He’s never spoken to a ghost before, but the spirit seemed friendly enough. 🐾
[ 👻 ] – “Oh, pish-posh! I’m sure he wouldn’t mind in the slightest. After all, they are very delicious.” Leave it to Whisper to defend pigs in one breath and talk about eating them in the next.
“Have you ever had roasted pig, my good lad? My mouth is watering just thinking about it!”

He blinked. He was sure that the scientists had taken away his ability to see electromagnetic beings, either that or this place was entirely lacking EM waves. He knew, of course, that the latter was not the case, because he could still feel them around him, only where it had previously been he was fully in-tune with them, now he felt only a small tingle, only enough to be able to only slightly manipulate them enough to form a weak barrier, and but a few times a day.
So if he couldn’t see EM waves.. what was this… this thing floating just a few feet in front of him? He narrowed his eyes, suspicious.
[ 👻 ] – Whisper, of course, was hardly aware of electromagnetic waves or anything like that. As a Yo-kai, he could vaguely sense his fellow unseen beings when nearby, but this was hardly consistent or relevant to him now. He lived how he lived, regardless of how visible he was.
This had nothing to do with what he was doing now: playing match-three games as he waited for the bus.
The continual staring he did notice -- eventually -- and Whisper’s annoyance superseded his manners.
“Er, beg pardon, but is something the matter? Don’t tell me you haven’t seen a Yo-kai before...”
“’Pigs don’t have morals’, huh? How d’you know, anyway? You ever talk to one?”
[ 👻 ] – “I have! And I found him a decent fellow. A little bit boorish, but he’s not so bad once you get to know him.”
