Touch // Noah + Scout
Scout was confused in want she wanted, due to the fact she never really had to choose. It hurt her knowing there wasnât something she could do, or just turn off a switch to stop the feelings for just one of them. Yet, it didnât seem to work that way. It wasnât apart of her intentions to develop feelings for both of them, either, yet, itâs funny how things can happen. At times she found herself wondering why this kind of hardships always resurrected in her life, except her entire life she has had to get through things like this. The relationship she shared with Noah was entirely special, they constantly bickered over nothing, along with getting anger at each other when it wasnât necessary. Except thatâs what made Scout found of there relationship.Â
The thing was, Scout never really did relationships. Sheâs only ever had one boyfriend before, otherwise, everything else was casual hookups where neither of them had feelings for one another. If anything, she was cynical about love thanks to her parents, but that was a whole different story. She continued to look at him, almost just taking it all in. âItâs not too late for me to hit you,â Raising an eyebrow, she smirked at him trying not to let out a laugh. Once he started to rub on her hip, she grinned. âGood, because I donât either,â Once their lips touched again, she brought her hands up to his hair, running her fingers through his dark locks. Their lips seemed to be in sync, which made it more enjoyable. At this moment, it felt like all of her problems had melted away, and it was only them in the world.
Noah couldn't help but smile slightly against Scout's lips. He had never wanted a girl as badly as he wanted her, which was why it bothered him so much that the feelings she felt weren't only for him. But Scout wasn't a prize to be won, Noah understood that, and it meant letting her make her decision when she felt ready to do so. That didn't make it any easier for Noah, though. It wasn't unusual for anger to build in the pit of his stomach whenever the thought crossed his mind. But not now, now all he could think about was the way Scout's lips moved with his and the way her soft skin felt against his rough hands. As long as he had waited for this to finally happen, it was well worth the wait. The feeling of her hands running through his hair was relaxing and he found himself wanting the moment to never end.Â
Pulling away only for a moment, Noah glanced at Scout for a moment, brushing her hair away from her neck and bringing his lips to the newly revealed skin. Leaving a small trail of kisses, Noah could smell the scent of her vanilla soap and he had to keep himself from making a joke about how he had to practically force her into showering before he arrived. "I love you," The boy mumbled softly against Scout's warm skin, his lips now at her collarbones. It was still strange to let the words fall from his mouth as it wasn't something that he had ever felt before for anyone. He hadn't even believed loved existed but whatever it was that he felt for Scout, he knew right away that it wasn't an average crush.Â
Touch // Noah + Scout
Not in a million years would Scout of thought she would be here right now kissing her best friend, yet here she was, on her bed, doing the unexpected with him. Scout knew that Noah had feelings for her, yet, some of the feelings were mutual. Even though she also had feelings for Elliot too, she never could really make up her mind on things, and she knew it wasnât fair to either of them. Scout moved forward, wrapping her arms around her necks trying to get as close to him as she could, which seemed to be not close enough. As Noah slipped his hand under her shirt, she let out a soft moan. If anything, she felt electricity shoot around in her entire body.Â
As he pulled away, her eyes fluttered as she tried to catch her breath. âWell that was, uh, interesting,â She let out a low chuckle, adjusting her t-shirt and covers trying to cover herself. âIâm not going to hit you, not this time,â Scoutâs lips formed a bright smile as she replied back to him. âYeah, itâs fine, youâre fine,â Her cheeks were flushed, from the heated moment, except she still wanted more. She reached over and squeezed his arm, running her small fingers up and down it. One word to describe the way she felt was comfortable and it overwhelmed her. âI mean, if you want to take a break we can,âÂ
Noah was more than aware of Scout's feelings for Elliot. No matter how hard he tried not to think about it, it somehow always managed to creep into the back of his mind. There were days when he just wanted to force her to make her decision between him and Elliot. If she was going to break his heart, again, he wanted it to be quick. As the days passed since they confessed their feelings for each other, Noah couldn't help but feel a bit of hope that maybe Scout would actually pick him over Elliot. But whenever he felt that glimmer of hope building up, he always mentally scolded himself. There was no way she'd pick him, not when they couldn't go a single day without bickering about something irrelevant or growing cold towards one another and leaving one worded replies. But after the kiss they just shared and now holding her close to his body, Noah couldn't imagine that they were meant for anyone else but each other.Â
But Noah didn't know much about that sort of thing. He had never been in love, it was even something he believed in. But sometimes he would look at Scout, and it had to be love he was feeling. Like now, when she was beaming at him, he couldn't help but return a smile at her, eyes crinkling in the darkness of her room. "Thank you for not hitting me," He replied, nodding once. His thumb began to gently rub Scout's hip bone and his smile softened slightly. "No, I don't need a break," Noah answered, bringing his face back closer to hers. Without hesitation, he closed the gap between their lips, kissing her once again. If she was ultimately going to choose Elliot, then so be it, but he was going to take advantage of the time he had left with her until the time came.Â
Touch // Noah + Scout
"I know I am," Scout rolled her eyes, propping her head up with her wrist. "You annoy the hell out of me and you were too being rude," Giving him a coy smile, she shook her head lightly. Even though Noah annoyed Scout more than anybody she knew, for some reason she still let him linger around even though he caused her blood pressure to rise. "Of course," She said. The twos conversations had always been interesting from the day they met, which was so long ago Scout canât even remember it. If anything, she was glad that he was her friend. Usually, she never kept friends this long because she would find something annoying about them that would get old, yet still, Noah seemed to stick around in her life.Â
"I am calm, thank you," Scout let out a light life as he squeezed her arm. She wasnât used to him touching her or interacting like this, usually they were distant or feet apart. Yet now, it was practically centimeters away, which was all too new to her. "Yeah, yeah, I know you did," If anything, she was happy that Noah thought she was different, even though she already knew she was. She liked being who she was, not living by others and societies demands on who she should be. As his lips pressed against hers, time seemed to stand still. Their lips moved together sweetly making Scout forget how annoying Noah was. His lips were soft and warm and were sweet, which she hadnât paid attention to from the first time they kissed. Scout moved her hands up and cupped his face, gently tracing his jawline with her thumbs, and for minute, she was actually enjoying herself.Â
Noah would never admit it, because it was probably the cheesiest thing in the world, but he could practically feel his heart swell in his chest. This was exactly what he had wanted for so long, and now it was happening and it was much more than he had ever expected. Scout's plump lips moved against his, surprising Noah that a girl so bitter like the one in his arms could taste so sweet. He had finally gotten what he wanted and yet he still wanted more. There was no getting enough of her, he knew. Noah's hand slowly moved underneath Scout's t-shirt to lightly grip her hip, deepening the kiss. Her skin seemed to be on fire wherever their skin met and Noah had to fight the urge to let his hands continue to travel.Â
Lack of oxygen forced Noah to pull away, eyes meeting Scout's in an attempt to read what she was feeling. She was an actress though and excelled at masking her emotions. Sighing softly, he blinked slowly. "Alright, if you're going to hit me again, get it over with now," He joked, keeping his voice low. Clearing his throat, Noah shifted slightly but still kept his hand against her skin. "This is okay, right?" He questioned, wanting to make sure that she was comfortable. Although she had reciprocated with the kiss, the last thing Noah wanted was for her to feel pressured or anything else along those lines. If this was going to happen, he wanted it to happen the right way. "If you want, we can stop now, you know,"
Touch // Noah + Scout
"Iâm right," Scout commented, annoyed with his usual line. It seemed to be whenever he used that, it meant that he more than likely was going to let her win the argument, which seemed to be always. "Donât be rude," Letting out a laugh, she nudged him with her elbow. "I probably would be enlisted into a mental institution, or my parents would have sent me to a convent," She rolled her eyes, raising her perky eyebrows. "I have plenty of adventure in my life, but thanks, anyway," Scout shot back at him, trying to dodge his comment about how he thinks it would be depressing, of course, she had to disagree. Scout and Noah definitely did argue a lot, which most people never understood, but to them it seemed to understand.Â
"For some reason I donât believe that," She chucked, poking Noahâs cheek with her finger. "A girl like me? What the fuck is that suppose to mean?" Of course, she knew that he did not mean it in a negative way, but she always had to question him. It was a bad habit, which she couldnât seem to get out of. "Eh," She looked up, thinking hard, before she returned her eyes back to Noahâs. He was close, closer than they have ever been before, and it enticed her. "No promises?" She grinned, cocking her head. Of course she felt pretty bad for the last time she hit him for kissing her, but it didnât really matter anymore.Â
"You're always right," Noah lied, knowing that it would only annoy her more. "And I'm not being rude!" He added, poking her back. He knew it was useless trying to combat Scout and her opinions so he just chuckled, giving his head a small nod. "Alright, Scout, I'm sure," He said quickly, awaiting for her to retort with something else. Conversations with Scout had always been the highlight of his days. They spoke every day without fail and they somehow never ran out of things to speak about. She kept him on her toes, which was difficult with Noah. He lost interest easily and quickly, but Scout was the only one who knew how to catch his attention and hold it forever.Â
At Scout's outburst, Noah let out a small laugh. His hand moved to her upper arm where he squeezed her arm lightly, "Jesus Christ, calm down," He ordered, still laughing. "I meant that in a good way and you know it," Noah was always pointing out to Scout that she was different, and insane, because those were the things that he loved about her. "Well, I'll take my chances, then," He replied before leaning forward, pressing his lips gently against hers. His hand moved from her arm to the small of her back where he pushed gently to bring her petite body closer to his. This kiss was much more gentle than their first one and it was exactly how Noah had always imagined it would be like to kiss Scout.Â
Touch // Noah + Scout
"Fuck you, there is a point where Iâve had enough of my own filth, trust me," Rolling her eyes, she traced her fingers on hem of the sheet. "Bored of this? Please, television is the only reason why Iâm somewhat sane these days, honestly," Scout rolled over, facing him, with her left eyebrow perked up. "Itâs not that bad once you make it a daily routine, it consumes you â kinda," Noah and Scout were complete opposites with a lot of things, they constantly bickered and never agreed on any topic. Thatâs just who they were, though.Â
Scout shot him a roguish look, as his eyes widened at her comment. She looked away and chuckled, trying not to blush, even though it failed miserably. âYou act like youâve never been around a girl without pants on, Noah,â She joked, even though she kind of believed he hadnât really been around pant less girls. It felt almost natural laying next to him â which almost scared Scout. Trying not to question it, she shook her head trying to get it off of her mind. âYeah, yeah, I get it, just pretend itâs not me or something,â She groaned, even though she knew that Noah couldnât help for being a little nervous about what was happening, really, she didnât even know what was going on herself, but at this point, she didnât care.
"Sure, sure, if you say so," Noah replied, using the line he usually used on Scout when he didn't want to start one of their infamous quarrels. He knew Scout wasn't lying when she spoke about her daily routine. "This is you somewhat sane?" He questioned, dark eyebrows lifting upwards, "I don't want to see what you're like without your bed and Netflix, then," He joked, giving his head a small shake. "That sounds really depressing, though. Everyone needs a little excitement in their life,"He knew she would ultimately disagree, as usual. Most people would find it annoying to have someone that you can't come to agreements with, but that wasn't the case for Noah. He loved that about their relationship, since it kept things interesting and he found himself never getting bored.Â
"I have been around a girl without pants on," Noah shot back before clearing his throat. "Just...not a girl like you," As if another girl like Scout even existed. No, she was one of a kind and Noah knew it from the moment he met her. She had turned around to face him and all Noah could do was look into her dark eyes for a moment. Noah then leaned forward, his forehead almost touching Scout's, "You're, uh, not gonna slap me in the face if I kiss you, are you?" He asked, lips set in a small smile. Although he had been upset at the moment, it was something that he laughed about now.Â
Touch // Noah + Scout
Scout peered out from the covers and rolled her eyes at his comment, âPlease, you act like Iâm diseased, I wouldnât let myself get that bad,â She let out a soft laugh, squinting her eyes trying to see him. Reaching over, she turned on the lamp that sat on her night stand and rolled over facing him. âI know Iâm lazy, I just donât have motivation for things that donât really matter, but Netflix surely does matter,â She sighed, rolling over and laying on her back once again. More than half of the week Scout spent in her bed and she didnât really know why. It wasnât like she had anything else to do, though.Â
Propping herself up in the bed, she looked over at Noah and knitted her eyebrows together. Yeah, he came here for one reason and one reason only, but of course she still wanted to have one of their pointless conversations as they always do. âI know it is, I donât fuck around with mattresses, thatâs for sure,â She sneered back at him, before pulling her wet hair up into a ponytail. âDonât lift up the covers too much, Iâm not wearing pants,â She muttered, shooting him a look of bewilderment. She knew she shouldnât of said that, but of course, there was no way she could take it back. As he wrapped his arm around her, at first she got tense, yet then it started to feel natural, causing her body to relax. âYes, itâs fine, donât question yourself,â She scooted closer to him, nuzzling her back into his chest.
"I'm not too sure about that, actually," Noah joked, lips turning upwards in another smile. "I don't understand how you don't get bored of the same thing every day," Noah was the complete opposite, falling into a foul mood whenever he was cooped up in his apartment for too long, where Scout would go days without leaving her bed. He decided that he'd have to find a way to drag her along on one his adventures, although he knew that it would most likely be difficult.Â
At the mention of Scout not wearing any pants, Noah's eyes widened for a moment. He still wasn't used to the change in their relationship, still finding certain moments awkward. Like now as he wet his lips and tried to think of something to say. "That's okay," He finally replied, sounding out of breath. Noah could feel Scout tense under his touch and he almost started to pull away until he felt the tension practically melt and he pulled her even closer to his body. His nose was buried in her hair for a moment and he was suddenly very happy that she had decided to shower before he arrived. "I'm trying not to, this is just all so new, you know?" He replied, shifting slightly to get comfortable next to Scout. He had never imagined that he'd actually end up in her bed, body pressed tightly against hers, but he was and he didn't want the moment to end.Â
Touch // Noah + Scout
The past couple of days have been absolutely boring for Scout, considering she had only laid in bed watching Keeping Up With the Kardashianâs and Boâs Burgers, otherwise, she hasnât done much. Honestly, she was exhausted from her mind constantly running and seeming to refuse to shut off. She had invited Noah to come over to hang out with her due to the fact she had nothing else better to do. They were best friends, what bad could really happen between them? The girl laid in her bed in the dark even though it was only nine in the afternoon, yet she didnât seem to care. It was just one of those days for her, even though every day seemed to be like this.Â
In and out of sleep, Scout waited to hear the door from the garage open, which seemed to take forever. Luckily for Noah though, she showered so she wouldnât smell like a pig that rolled around in a dumpster. Even though she didnât really want to, she did it anyway since it had been three days. Finally, she heard the door open and footsteps come in her house. She grinned softly, continuing to lay there. âGo home,â She joked covering her face with her white plush comforter. âI didnât want to get up, so yeah, I was too lazy,â She muttered, rolling over underneath the covers. As Noah made his comment about how she smelt, she extended her leg and kicked him. âI donât stink anymore, but thanks,âÂ
Noah let out a low chuckle, dodging her small attack that he knew was coming the moment that the insult left his mouth. It wasn't that Scout was predictable, because she was nowhere near predictable, but he just knew her, better than he knew everyone else. "I'm glad you took a shower, I don't own any rubber gloves," Noah joked, leaning over to try to pull the covers away from the girl's body. "You know, I don't think I've ever met anyone who is as lazy as you are," He commented, knowing that it was the truth. It was as if Scout and her bed were in a committed relationship together.Â
Clearing his throat, Noah glanced over at Scout. He knew she wanted him to touch her, which she had already given him permission to do so, but he wasn't exactly sure how to go about it. He had never touched her in the way she wanted to be touched before, although the thought had crossed his mind more times than he wanted to admit. Noah knew that it would ultimately change their friendship, since it wasn't exactly something friends did. Deciding to man up, Noah fully climbed into Scout's bed, slipping underneath the covers so he was next to her. "I can see why you're always in bed, it's fucking comfortable," Noah commented, turning on his side and reaching an arm out to wrap around Scout. "This is okay, right?" He suddenly asked, cautiously. The last thing he wanted was to scare her away or make her feel uncomfortable.Â
Touch // Noah + Scout
Nerves were something Noah had little experience with. It took a lot for him to feel nervous but as he slipped inside Scout's garage like she had ordered him to, he could feel a strange and unfamiliar sensation in his stomach. He quickly brushed away the feeling as he now stepped inside Scout's house, knowing this was something he had been thinking about for a while now. And when Scout asked him...well, he couldn't exactly say no. "Scout, it's me, Noah," The dark haired boy called out, kicking his shoes off before quickly making his way towards Scout's room.Â
Any feelings of nerves that he had been feeling disappeared as he gently tapped against Scout's door with his fist twice, "Were you really that lazy that you couldn't let me in through the front door?" Noah asked as he stepped inside his best friend's room, already knowing the answer to his own question. "Hey stinky," He finally greeted her, plopping down on the edge of her bed, eyes moving to lay on her face.Â

Reflections || Scout & Noah
Scout noticed Noah looking down at her lips every now and then, but she tried her best not to let it get to her due to the fact it almost made her uncomfortable. She understood why this could be happening though, Noah did have feelings for her so she could see where he was coming from. âUm, okay, whatever you say,â She smirked, rolling onto her back. âIâm alright, why are you acting like this?â Laughing slightly, she tucked her hair behind her ear and tried to avoid eye contact with Noah. She knew if she looked at him again, something might happen that she didnât exactly plan to happen while she was here. âIf you were expecting me to say that, why would you even ask?â Scout shot him with a quizzical look as he ran his hand over his jawline.Â
The next thing Scout knew, Noah was on top of her, kissing her. Of course, she kissed him back without hesitation since it was her first instinct. She was surprised at how good of a kisser he was, yet at the same time, anger and confusion began to flow throughout her body. Finally, she pushed him back and slapped him softly, shaking her head, unsure of what just happened. âWhat the fuck was that?â Scout stared at him, eyebrows furrowed with her eyes squinted slightly. She sat up, looking in the opposite way. Angry was one thing she definitely was, considering she didnât know how to feel. âWhy did you fucking do this, Noah?â Her voice raised, as she whipped her head back giving him a taut facial expression. Scout closed her eyes and began to rub her forehead, âWhy?â
Noah wasn't quite sure what he was expecting, but a slap in the face definitely wasn't what he was expecting. The slap was unlike the slaps he usually received from her, his cheek tingling slightly from where her hand had just been. Noah was speechless for a moment, mouth opening and closing a few times as his brain scrambled to form a sentence. He really hadn't meant to kiss her, although he had certainly been thinking about it. But it had been nice, he had to admit, even though it ended way too abruptly and a bit violent. At least he know knew what it felt like to kiss Scout Enders now. And she kissed him back, her lips had actually moved along with his and in the end, it was worth the slap.
Rubbing his cheek where Scout had hit him, his features pinched into a glare and he gave his head a shake. "If you knew how long I had been thinking about doing that, you wouldn't be so angry," He grumbled, eyes on her although she was staring in the opposite direction. Letting out a frustrated sigh, Noah ran his hands through his messy hair, tugging at the ends gently. "I don't fucking know why, alright? I just wanted to so I did," He retorted, knowing that it really wasn't all that simple. "I didn't think you'd get so pissed, or slap me in the face like that," He wasn't happy and it was more than clear by the look on his face. She was looking back at him now, giving him the usual expression she gave him whenever he pissed her off, although the look she was giving him now was a little more angrier than he was used to seeing.Â
Reflections || Scout & Noah
"Youâre fine, I swear," Scout commented, because he didnât deserve to feel sorry, itâs not like he could necessarily control his feelings or what he feel towards her. At first when she first found out about Noah liking her, at first she didnât believe it. She could never tell, yet as she reflected back on it, she should have. Her face winced just thinking of this, before she shook her head trying to avoid the thoughts of it. Things definitely didnât work out as planned between the two, which was a disappointment, but then again, nothing ever seemed to go as planned. "Are you okay?" She said as she rolled over and looked at him.Â
"You better not." She laughed slightly, her tense body relaxed at the thought of it. She hated people crying, she wasnât the person that was gifted and knew how to handle others or her own feelings. The idea of people venting to her almost made her cringe. "Of course I wonât," Scout hardly ever cried, yet she was just crying a couple of hours ago. More than likely due to the fact she was overwhelmed and felt bad, but somehow crying was her only way to feel somewhat better. "Good," She sneered, rolling her eyes and settling her gaze back at him. "I donât know, how the hell do I know?" Scout shook her head. She really didnât know what was going to happen next, it wasnât something she had been thinking about, if anything, she was trying to ignore it.Â
Noah made the mistake of letting his eyes fall onto her lips as she spoke. Although she was laying just a few feet away from him, she sounded as if she was miles away and all Noah could think about was her lips. "I-I'm okay," He mentally scolded himself for slip up, knowing that she would most likely question him about it. Clearing his throat, he put all his efforts in keeping his eyes locked on Scout's face and Scout's face only. "Are you okay?" It was kind of a stupid question. How could either of them be okay after the way the past few days had turned out? "I know you don't know," Noah retorted, "I just figured it was still worth asking," He explained, rubbing the short stubble that had begun to grow along his jawline.Â
Without him realizing it, his eyes traveling back to her lips and the next thing he knew, he was pressing his lips against hers. Her lips were much more softer than he had imagined them to be, And they were warm and Godâ Noah found himself wishing he had done this sooner than now. His hand moved to her hair where he brushed it back gently, momentarily threading his fingers through her soft locks. But when it clicked in his mind that he was actually kissing Scout he quickly pulled away as if he had been electrocuted. His eyes were wide and his lips were still parted as he stared back at her, trying to comprehend what exactly he had just let himself do.. "...Fuck," He breathed out,Â
60-70
Jesus, alright.
Reflections || Scout & Noah
"You really donât have to be sorry," She murmured into the pillow. Her eyes shut as she spoke, trying to make an attempt of what she should say next. "If anything, itâs my fault for freaking out." Scout didnât know what to do from here on, if anything, it would be knotty, yet, out of all the people in the world, Scout could do it. From all of the mishaps that she has dealt with throughout her life, if anything, this was just a small problem. From watching her own father cheat on her mom, this didnât really compare anything to that. Yet, thatâs a completely different concept. "Fine," she rolled over, facing the boy. Giving him a vacant look, she propped herself up on the palm of her hand. "Iâm pretty sure you could easily hate me, I mean, letâs be real here, Noah." Which was the truth, Scout practically did break his heart, if Scout were in his shoes, she probably would have already of been gone.Â
"Please donât cry." She knitted her brows together, scooting closer to him. "I swear to God if you do, I donât even know." Scout whispered, trying not to think of him crying. Thatâs the last thing she wanted to see after all that sheâs done, more than likely it would tear her into two. Really, she was glad that Noah invited her to come over, even though things between the two werenât exactly all sunshine and rainbows. Except nothing was ever one hundred percent in Scoutâs life. Something always was going on to make her angry or hurt, which was apart of the reason why she was always so belligerent to just about everyone she ever met. "Yeah well you canât really undo it, so itâs whatever," Scout voiced, with a hint of hostility laced in her words.Â
"I feel like I should be sorry," Noah replied, although he didn't quite know why. The whole situation was emotionally draining and with everything happening, it was almost impossible to figure anything out. "Besides, we both freaked out. And it's kind of expecting when...things like this happen," Noah could practically feel the guilt reeling from Scout's body. He didn't quite understand it. She couldn't help how she felt and Noah wasn't upset about that. Mostly he was upset about the way things were playing out, and how badly he had handled them. If he could've kept his cool without losing his temper, the tension that was nearly suffocating him wouldn't exist, he thought. Scout was suddenly turning over, eyes meeting his. For a moment, he swore he forgot to breathe.Â
Noah couldn't help but roll his eyes upwards at her pleas. "I can't remember the last time I cried, Scout," He told her, his memory not unable to go that far back. "I'm not going to cry...Can you say the same?" Tears from anyone made Noah uncomfortable but from Scout? It was a completely different story with her. She was laying so close to him now, Noah couldn't keep his eyes from tracing her small face, unable to ignore the hurt masked in her eyes. "I know that," Noah snapped back, pressing his lips into a firm line for a moment. "What are we supposed to do now, then?" He asked, although he knew that she probably didn't have a clue. It was worth a try though since he didn't have a clue to begin with. He just wanted things to go back to normal, but after the past couple of days...he didn't think that was possible.Â
