Phoebe never date a girl, the writers doesn't have problem with queer characters, so, if phoebe was bisexual, why not write about that? bc she was just experimenting. Phoebe is very open with her sexuality and I don’t know why her being bisexual would be inconsistent with that. Throughout the series she makes remarks about how beautiful certain women are. Look at these examples, she was not experimenting, this is her sexuality. Her sexuality is one of my favorite things about her.
I am tired of bisexual characters being categorized as “experimenting” or “fluid”. It’s a cop-out by writers so they can add all of the oversexualized glory of bisexuality without proper representation.
Additionally, what proof do you have that the writers didn’t have a problem with queer characters? Chandler’s dad was a pretty awful representation. Chandler makes several gay slurs about his father, and so does his mother. There are no notable openly queer characters in this show. That is not by fucking accident.
Even Phoebe herself understands the reality of bisexual erasure. So it’s really just you who needs to grow the fuck up. But thanks for the opportunity to reminisce about my favorite TV series.
