Narry Fic Rec
Prequel
I Forget Where We Were
Epilogue
Sequel
You must be signed into your ao3 account for this. But you won’t regret it. Angsty as fuck, heart wrenchingly endearing, and fuck man. It fucks you up.
do u have an angsty and fluffy narry fics u can rec?? i'm stuck in a hurricane so i don't have much to do ajdjjska thanks tho!!!
Oh goodness please stay safe!! Of course I can rec some angsty and fluffy narry fics, I mean those are my favourite kind. I hope you enjoy these!
Angst fics:
let me put you back together (the right way): cancer fic, super cute, super sad
but your band is all the rage (or so I’ve been told): cheating, you feel bad for niall so much, really cute
intensified by absence: this is considered a fluff/angst fic to me, so cute, I love niall and harry so much in this, one of my favourite fics ever
can’t go back to yesterday: part of a series but you don’t really need to read the other parts to understand, SO angsty I love it
Fluff fics:
sight of love: it is angsty but I think this has a lot more fluff, again adorable narry
it starts like this, harmless and simple to fix: again this does have angst but god the fluff is beautiful
if only you saw what I could see: this has great smut lol, but the fluff and how cute harry is towards niall makes me melt
a pack of misfits: fluff fluff fluff fluff omg
dodging lions and wastin’ time: adorable, this fic makes me smile
Ok so I’ve never read any Narry fics at all. If you had once chance to convince me that there are good Narry fics out there, which one would you link me to? I’m an ex Larrie ( be nice, I know) and dammit they have some outstanding writers for that ship. Incredible stuff. Please tell me stuff like that exists for Narry too.
NO PRESSURE AM I RIGHT sjdghjdg if you’ve never read ANY narry fic then you should definitely start with emotional knapsack a) bc it’s iconic and b) reading this is basically part of the narrie initiation. my personal fave fics which i could read time and time again are uncertainty principle and the parting line, so definitely give those ones a go as well!! and get back to me when you’re done with any of these 👀
Bonjour @nightingiall ! Your surprise of the day: after a Ziall fic rec comes a Niall fic rec !
ruining the holiday dinner
i forget where we were > “You,” he says thickly, swallowing. “You don’t - you don’t remember.” / “Not the last three years,” Harry tells him simply. “Sorry. What was your name?” / “Niall,” he mutters, face suddenly dark. “I’m Niall, I’m Liam’s assistant.“ / Harry wakes up to find he has retrograde amnesia and a perfect life - seemingly.
up in your room and our slates are clean > Niall thinks he might be falling for his boss’ fiancé. Prequel to i forget where we were.
hold on > Funny, Niall thinks, that for all their success ordinary terrible things happen to them just like anybody else. Girlfriends get tired of the fans or get panicked about too much commitment, and bandmates slip going into the pool and lose five years’ worth of memories.
the mad ones (pool party remix) > Harry buys a car in NYC = OT5 road trip to LA. 24-hour diners, shit hotels, Polaroids, golf, line dancing, and too many people in the backseat: this is what dreams are made of.
friends just sleep in another bed > Tour starts; Niall and Harry grow closer.
heartbreak hero > In which Niall is a love guru of sorts on the radio, who thinks love is the bane of the world, and Harry is a fuckboy who’s lovely, surely, but is not the best boyfriend in the world, not by a long shot. His girl breaks up with him while on air with Niall, and Harry isn’t having that, so he forces Niall to help him win her back. (Alternatively, Niall’s Guide On How to Win Back the Girl, patent pending. It should work, in theory.)
never dreamed of this > Harry has trouble not to stare. Why his geography project partner is so gorgeous, he doesn’t know. Why he’s being punished by having Niall as his partner, he doesn’t understand. Niall, who is so gorgeous. Niall, who seems so bubbly, so full of life, while Harry is a depressed and anxious freak. Niall, who is everything. And Harry, who is nothing. Harry doesn’t know what it is exactly but he trusts Niall. Niall, who has the most catchy laugh, it’s like a beautiful melody. Niall, who makes him want to smile all the time. Niall, who makes his heart beat ridiculously fast. And Harry really needs to stop having these feelings because it’s not happening. They’re friends. Niall said so himself. Or a high school AU where Harry’s a loner and Niall’s been away and they’re brought together by a geography project.
I checked your fanfic rec so there should only be fics you haven’t read there! I feel like I haven’t been a good sparkly so please when you’re online, just hit me up via the chatbox thingy. Hope you’re enjoying your holidays :)

Jack couldn’t believe it. He didn’t want to believe it. His own mother.. The person who’d been there through thick and thin. She didn’t approve of him. She was disgusted by him. He had never once thought his mother of all people wouldn’t approve. Conor assured him dozens of times; “She’ll accept you no matter what, Jack, but tell her when you’re ready.” He’d say. Well, apparently, Conor was wrong.
Today, he was finally ready to tell his parents about his sexuality. He’d known for years, but had only had relations with girls, despite his thoughts telling him he felt no attraction to them whatsoever. Now, that he had his first boyfriend, and after 4 months of sneaking around with him, Jack was ready to tell his mum and dad about his sexuality. They’d been pestering him about settling down with a nice girl, and he eventually let it slip out. His dad wasn’t really surprised, as he’d suspected it for years, but didn’t say anything. He stood up and engulfed Jack into a hug, accepting him immediately. His mother, wasn’t so friendly.
“What?” His mother said, a mixture of shock and disgust laced into her words. “You’re.. You’re gay?” She spat, eyes wide. “I should’ve known. I always knew there was something wrong with you.” She muttered, looking away, unable to look at her son anymore. “What? Mum, please..” Jack stuttered, eyes watering. “Don’t, Jack. Just.. don’t. I think it’s best you leave.” She said, leaving the room.
“D-dad?” He stuttered, brokenly. “I’m sorry, Jack. Give her some time.” He said, sympathetically. “I’ll talk to her, don’t worry. She just wasn’t expecting it, is all.” His father tried to comfort him, but they both knew she wasn’t one to change her opinions so easily. Without another word, Jack left his parent’s house, jumping into his car and driving out as fast as he could without breaking the law. He couldn’t stop the tears blurring his sight, so he pulled over (when it was safe, of course), and cried. He couldn’t bring himself to stop.
He’d been sat in the car for half an hour, simply crying. He’d lost his mother’s support; she’d always been his rock, and now she was gone. He sighed, his tears stopped and he was probably dehydrated. He didn’t feel it, though, as he was focused on the aching in his heart for his mother. Biting his lip, he looked both ways, front and back, then pulled back onto the road and made his way back to his shared flat with his boyfriend.
When Jack entered the flat, he was relieved to see Joe was filming a video and wasn’t paying him much attention. He went straight to the bathroom, splashing his face with water and cleaning himself up. He put on a brave face and pretended it was alright. He didn’t want to tell Joe; it would not only break him to re-live the memory; but he didn’t think he could bare to live with the broken look on Joe’s face if he told him. No, he’d keep to himself. At least for now.
He took a deep breath and left the room. Joe had just finished wrapping up the video he was filming, and smiled as Jack walked into the room. “Hey, Jack. Weren’t you supposed to be visiting your parents today?” Joe asked, furrowing his brows in confusion. “Mum got ill, had to reschedule.” Jack said, surprised he didn’t break down. “Oh, is she alright?” Joe asked, concerned. He’d met your parents before, though, the circumstances were quite different then. He’d got along great with them, when you were just introduced as friends. Now, he didn’t want to talk about it. “Yeah, just a little bug. It’ll pass, dad said.” He told his boyfriend, lying through his teeth. He hated lying to Joe, but he couldn’t bear telling him, it was too soon.
“Oh, okay.” Joe could easily tell something was wrong with Jack. He wasn’t himself, but Joe wasn’t one to push. He was patient, and confident Jack would tell him in his own time. “Well, do you want to film a video then relax and have a stay-in night? We can get Nando’s and put on stupid movies we can make fun of and stuff?” Joe asked, hopefully. Jack tended to cut himself off when he was upset, Joe hated it, but respected his way of dealing with it. He only wished Jack would open up to him more.
“I guess.” Jack muttered, earning a frown from Joe. “We don’t have to, if you don’t want to?” Joe was getting more concerned now, Jack loved filming and nights in with Nando’s. It was their tradition, when one of them was upset they’d cuddle on the couch and laugh at stupid movies, mocking them and posting unflattering pictures of each other on their snapchat and instagram stories. “No, it’s fine. Let’s do it.” Jack said, walking past Joe to set up the camera. Joe frowned deeply, but sighed and helped Jack set up.
Throughout the filming, it was quite obvious Jack’s heart wasn’t in it. He wasn’t making the cute, sarcastic, or funny comments he usually imputed through the video. He didn’t even laugh at the countless jokes Joe made, and Joe had enough. “Alright, what’s wrong, Jack?” He asked, sternly. Jack looked surprised. “What?” “You know exactly what, Jack. You aren’t laughing, you aren’t making jokes, and you usually love filming videos; you look like you’re forced to be here. Are you okay?” He asked, in a demanding tone. He hated raising his voice and being demanding of Jack, but he only wanted to help.
“I’m just feeling a bit under the weather. Can we just watch a movie?” Jack asked, and Joe sighed. “Yeah, of course.” He said, hiding the disappointment in his voice. They set up a comedy movie that had terrible reviews, neither of them knowing the name of it, and watched as Jack cuddled into Joe’s side. They had already ordered and finished their Nando’s. Usually, they’d watch movies like this and make jokes throughout the whole movie, but Jack hadn’t said a word. Jack was completely uncomfortable. He wanted desperately to tell Joe, but didn’t know how. “I don’t feel well. I’m just going to edit.” He said, getting up and leaving abruptly.
Joe didn’t know what to do. Jack loved his privacy, not liking to burden others with it, but he was never this distant with Joe, and it was worrying him. At this point, it was quite late, and Joe was exhausted from the long week. “I’m heading to bed.” Joe said to Jack, who was sat in the office. He nodded, “G’night.” No hug, kiss, or anything. “G’night, Jack.” Joe muttered, defeated.
Two hours later, it was almost 2am. Jack had long since turned off the computer, and was now debating whether to sleep on the couch or with his lover. He felt different; his mother’s opinion meant so much to him, and it was destroying him. He walked outside onto the balcony, hoping to clear his thoughts, but ended up breaking down. He cried. It was 2am, and here he was, crying on the balcony. Joe woke up, hearing traffic. Jack must’ve left the balcony opened. He slid out of bed, sighing, but froze when he heard the sounds of not only traffic, but sobs coming from the balcony.
Joe walked out, and he was sure his heart cracked then and there. Jack was on his knees, hands on his face, sobbing into them quietly. Joe ran over, wrapping his arms around Jack. “What’s wrong, Jack? Please, please tell me.” He pleaded, he couldn’t stand seeing Jack this way. “My mum hates me.” He managed, breaking down again and spinning around, crying into Joe’s shoulder.
“Why, Jack?” Joe asked, confused. He’d known all about the close relationship between Jack and his mother; he couldn’t possibly figure out why Jack thought she hated her. “For me being gay, Joe! She hates me for being gay!” Jack sobbed, his grip on Joe tightening. Joe tensed. It was his fault. “Jack, I’m so sorry..” Joe genuinely had no idea how to deal with this; his parents were happy with his sexuality.
They sat in silence for a while, Jack simply crying into Joe’s shoulder as he rubbed a soothing hand up and down Jack’s back. Once his crying slowed down, and he only had a few tears running down his reddened cheeks, which Joe wiped away with his hands. “Let’s get you to bed, Jack. Tomorrow we’ll ring Conor and have a lazy day in; ice cream and all. I’d say let’s have it now, but I ate all the ice cream earlier and it’s almost 3 in the morning.” Jack nodded, sniffling.
Joe walked Jack to the bed with a hand on his lower back, guiding him over to the bed. Joe tucked in Jack, running around to his side and climbing in, opening his arms for Jack to cuddle into, which he gladly did. Joe stayed away, running a hand through Jack’s hair until he felt his breathing even out, and smiled a bittersweet smile. “I’m so, so sorry Jack.” Joe whispered, closing his eyes and drifting off to sleep.

getting in a fight with harry and you almost break up and you have emotional sex where you’re both crying and stealing kisses and it’s raw and you’re both just so in love and i don’t know meaningful sex is so much better than just getting in each other’s pants when you feel like it – anon

It was quite odd how you could feel so alone in a room so full of people.
Music jumping off of the walls, a steady bass thumping in your chest; laughter cutting through the air, cheers every so often as another round was poured out. The energy was addictive, yet you felt as if you were secluded in your own little bubble, away from everyone else and invisible to the party guests.
Harry stood beside you, happily buzzing with a glass of whiskey in hand. His laughs bellowed out from his chest and were much louder than normal – amplified by the alcohol pulsing through his body. He wasn’t drunk, but the extra confidence given to him by the glass he held was very obvious.
He’d turn to you, mouth parted and about to ask a question, but was swiftly pulled away by an eager acquaintance to congratulate him on ‘his big debut in Hollywood!’ or ‘his incredible new music!’. Harry was too kind to just brush off the compliment with a simple “thank you,” and was quickly taken up in another conversation, leaving you alone.

“Oh, well if that isn’t sweet,” Lou is bending to smell the flowers, and she’s picking up the card that came along with it, though he knows who it’s from already, knows only one person who knows just how he likes his flowers. “‘Harry, hope you have an amazing night. Already beyond proud of you. Lots of love, Nialler.’”
“I invited him,” he says quietly, every feeling rolling around unpleasantly in his stomach. “I know he’s here, he. I know he’s in London.”
“He’s probably busy,” Lou says, “been doing some reshoots for his video, yeah? Busy, popular lad.”
Harry knows all of this already. He stays quiet, still feeling hurt.
Niall sends flowers, and Harry didn’t think his heart could get even more broken.

Joes pov
“Jack, do you have everything?” I asked for the millionth time. “Yessss,” Jack said to me. “Ae you sure you don’t want to take your inhaler?” I asked him. “I should be alright, want some water?” Jack asked grabbing a bottle of water from the fridge. “Yes please.” He grabbed one and handed it to me.
I not only grabbed the bottle but then grabbed his hand and pulled him close. “I love you,” I said kissing hs soft lips. He kissed back gently and smiled. “I love you too,” he said smiling wide. “Are you ready to go?” He asked. “I think so,” I said. We decide to walk instead of drive to meet the boys to play football (soccer). I pulled out my vlogging camera as we walked through the streets of London. I decided to put it back in my backpack so I could hold Jacks hand instead. He smiled as our fingers gently intertwined.
We walked making small talk about whatever crossed our minds. I released his hand as we approached the boys to avoid teasing, even though they all knew about the relationship. We walked onto the field to see Conor, Josh, Caspar and Mikey kicking around the ball. “Finally,” Conor complained. “Piss off,” I joked. “Okay boys, who are team Captains?” Josh asked. “I say it should be the love birds,” Mikey said. Jack rolled his eyes and I gave him a dirty look. “Alright Jack is team Captain and Joe is a team Captain. RPS (rock paper scissor) for who picks first,” Conor said.
We RPS for who went first and Jack won. I playfully frowned. “Alright first I’m going to choose Conor,” he said. “I’ll choose Casparrrr Leeee,” I said exaggerating and dragging his name out. “Hmmm I guess Mikey because Josh just kills my vibe,” Jack joked. I laughed. “Thank you for that I have the South Africans on my team,” I said.
We played for a while and I noticed Jack had started to cough and wheeze but I didn’t acknowledge it. Jack’s team won and of course, he wouldn’t let it go. We said goodbye to the boys and we walked back to our flat. Jack had to stop a few times to catch his breath. “Are you alright?” I asked. He nodded and took deep breaths.
As we walked into the door of our flat, he grabbed his inhaler. He took a puff and I walked to the kitchen. “Hungry babe?” I asked he nodded. I cooked us food and we got showers and chilled for the rest of the night until it was time for bed. We both were really tired so we decided to go to sleep early. We laid in bed and I ran my fingers his soft hair. His eyes were shut. “I love you,” I whispered as soft snores escaped his lips. Lightly kissing his cheek, I turned over and fell asleep.
•
My eyes fluttered open as the warmth of Jack’s body disappeared. I heard heavy wheezing and coughing from the bathroom. I turned on the light on the nightstand to see the clock read 3:22 am. “Jack?” I said. I stood up from the bed and walked to the bathroom to see Jack learning over the sink. “Jack?” I said louder. He coughed and continued to wheeze.
I quickly walked into the living room and grabbed his inhaler off the table. I walked back into the bathroom. “Jack here, come sit back down and take this,” I said. He took a few puffs before going back and sitting on the bed. I sat down and he sat next to me. “Lay down babe,” I said. He laid his head on my chest, taking a few more puffs of his inhaler. I stroked the side of his head to calm him down. After a while, he returned to his usual state. “Joe,” he said. “Hm?” I replied.
“Thank you for taking care of me. I love you,” he said. “I love you too,” I said back with a smile. “And you were right. I should have taken my inhaler,” he said. We remained quiet for a moment, “but I still kicked your ass.”
Similar Symptoms
One thing Jack learned from being a cancer survivor was that the moment you showed any little symptom of being ill, those around you that knew of your past would instantly worry.
Joe was someone who knew of Jack’s past, and what he went through during his early teenage years, but for the most part, never showed worry when Jack got sick. The younger man had opened up one night about the weeks spent in the hospital, the feeling of constant exhaustion and nausea from the chemotherapy, of the worry about his results, and the wondering about if he would live to see his next birthday.
Everything had come pouring out, and Joe had taken it in stride, something that Jack loved him for, because every time the words cancer survivor were spoken, the looks of pity would begin. But Joe never did that, he simply listened and let Jack speak.
Then Jack began to show similar symptoms as before.
He was constantly tired, to the point of falling asleep in the middle of the day while sat on the tube or in the car, and he kept finding random bruises scattered across his skin. His skin was pale, the bags under his eyes were becoming quite dramatic, and his appetite had all but disappeared.
At first, he tried to play it off as a basic cold, but then Conor had caught on to just what was going on, who then conferred with Joe. Which is when his boyfriend did become worried. Because this had been going on much longer than a common cold, and the symptoms more extreme than before.
“Jack, please, just go to a doctor.”
“It’s just a cold, Joe.” The younger man rolled his eyes, tugging the blanket tighter around his shoulders.
The couple was curled up on the couch, eating dinner and watching a movie. Except Jack had barely touched his food, and couldn’t focus much on the movie. His eyes were constantly drooping, and he couldn’t get warm, despite wearing multiple layers of clothing.
“You’ve been like this for nearly a month, it is not just a cold.” Joe snapped. “It’s…it’s something more.”
The unspoken word hung between them, waiting for one of them to dare to speak it.
“It is not my cancer,” Jack finally said the dreaded word, hating that Joe flinched when he said it. “The doctor said I was free, there was no signs of it.”
“Doctor’s can be wrong.”
“I get routinely checked.”
“And you haven’t been in almost a year.”
“I’m fine,” Jack sighed, “These symptoms are quite similar to a common cold, you get like this when you’re sick too.”
“But…”
“Do you not get shaky and pale when you get sick? Do you not feel tired constantly? Have you not had a cold hang on just because it wants to be annoying?”
Joe closed his mouth tightly, finally nodding.
“Exactly. I’m fine, so relax. Can we please watch the movie?”
“Alright,” Joe shuffled closer, allowing Jack to lean against him, his fingers finding their way into the younger man’s locks, “Promise to tell me if it gets worse?”
“Yes.”
As exhausted as Jack was feeling that night, especially following the conversation with Joe, he couldn’t sleep.
He tossed and turned for a while before finally giving up and slipping out of their shared bed, not wanting to disturb his boyfriend who was sleeping peacefully.
Padding out to the living room, Jack chewed on his bottom lip as he made his way over to the glass doors, gazing across the night lights.
Letting his forehead fall against the coolness, his breath fogged up the glass as his mind began to race.
As soon as he realized how he was feeling, of course he had immediately jumped to cancer, but he had been working on convincing himself that it wasn’t that. He didn’t know if he could handle going through that again; it had nearly been too much the first time. On him, on his family, and the few friends that had stuck with him.
On top of that, Jack didn’t want Joe to deal with it. It wasn’t fair for the other man to be stuck with someone fighting a disease for their life.
Closing his eyes at the rush of tears, Jack did his best to control his mind, but he could feel the panic overtaking him.
He was terrified.
What if his cancer did come back? Would he be strong enough to make it through? He would have to break up with Joe, because he wouldn’t force him to stick around. Jack would have to completely stop his life all over again, put it on pause while he fought to live.
The fear and worry mixed together, churning into something dark, spreading through his body. The tears began to flow freely down his cheeks, and his breath came out in choked sobs, while his body shook.
Everything around him faded as the panic took over.
There was nothing that he could do.
But then Jack felt warm arms wrap around him, a body pressed against his back, and lips placing soft kisses along his jaw and neck.
“You’re okay, babe,” Joe spoke quietly against his ear, and Jack’s hand gripped the older man’s forearm tightly, “I’m right here. You’re okay.”
Jack wasn’t sure how long they stood there, but he knew some time had passed before Joe finally managed to lead him back to bed, where they both laid on their sides, their fingers laced together between them.
“We’ll make a doctor’s appointment tomorrow,” Joe’s voice was hushed, but calm.
“Will you come with me?” Jack hated how weak his voice sounded, how obvious his fear was showing through.
“Of course. I’m not going anywhere.” Joe smiled in response, leaning forward to brush his lips across Jack’s, “Now get some sleep.”
The next couple of weeks were stressful for the couple, and Jack opened up to his brother, expressing his worry and fears as well. Which was why Conor joined them both when they finally headed back to the doctor’s to receive the results of the long awaited test.
And when the three found out that there was no sign of cancer anywhere in Jack’s body, they all collapsed into their seats in relief.
The doctor talked through what had been going on, and reminded Jack to continue with his check ups, but everything should be fine.
And that was the best news Jack could receive. Especially since a few days later he finally felt it was safe enough to smugly tell Joe that he was right and it was nothing to worry about.
Is it possible to link any stories you have that either involve Conor or involve Jack with anxiety/panic attacks? Thanks
I’m not ignoring this ask, I’m just not home currently, so I can’t right this moment, but I’ll do my best to do it later.
If I don’t remember to do it later, just drop me another ask, love!
Alright, Conor is in far to many of my stories to link haha, but I grabbed the Jack anxiety/panic attack ones!

Staying Awake
“You’re still awake?” Joe asks in surprise as he walks into the bedroom, looking over at Jack who blinks tiredly over at him from where he’s laying on the bed.
“Was waiting for you,” The younger man responds around a yawn.
“You were practically falling asleep at dinner though.”
“Didn’t wanna sleep without you.” Jack explains, watching Joe move around the room, stripping out of his clothes. It takes everything in him to not let his eyelids fall closed, sleep calling him like a siren, but Jack had barely seen Joe all day, and wanted to spend a few moments with him before they both went to sleep.
“You shouldn’t have waited,” Joe tells him softly as he finally climbs into bed, laughing quietly when Jack instantly shuffles over to lay across him, burying his face into the crook of Joe’s neck, his arm winding around his boyfriends waist, and one leg slipping in between Joe’s.
“Wanted too,” Jack mumbles, sighing contently as Joe begins to run his fingers along the younger man’s spine gently. “Missed you today.”
“I missed you too, love.”
The couple fall silent, only the sound of their breathing floating around the room, and Jack feels himself further relax under Joe’s touch as he listens to his boyfriends steady heartbeat.
Joe thinks that Jack has fallen asleep, so when the younger man suddenly speaks, it surprises him.
“I like moments like this.”
“Oh?”
“Mhm….” Jack hums, shifting in his spot slightly, but not moving away from Joe at all. “S’nice. Get you all to myself.”
“You always have me to yourself, you’re possessive like that.” Joe laughs lightly, starting to trace random patterns into Jack’s back.
“Not today,” Jack lifts his head up to look down at Joe, “Barely seen you today.”
“I know,” Joe smiles as he brushes the hair out of Jack’s eyes, the sleepy look on his boyfriends face adorable, “I’m sorry.”
“No,” Jack leans into Joe’s hand, nuzzling it, “Don’t apologize. I get it. Just missed you.”
“So much so that you’re forcing yourself to stay awake?”
“Yes, because I love you and wanted to see you.”
“That’s kind of really adorable, you know that?”
“I’m too tired to fight you on the fact that I’m not adorable.”
“Right,” Joe says as he tries to not laugh, “You’re handsome and sexy if I recall.”
“Exactly.” Jack nods before lowering himself back down to rest his head against Joe’s chest, “And don’t you forget it.”
“How can I when you remind me almost every day?”
“Remind you because I love you,” Jack tells him around another yawn, his eyes drooping closed.
“Go to sleep, love, you’re exhausted.” Joe whispers, his fingers running through Jack’s hair softly.
“M’talking to you though.”
“You’re slurring your words is more like it.”
“Shhh….”
“I thought we were talking though?”
“I was talking…you were supposed to listen.”
“Hard to listen to you when you’re falling asleep.” Joe smiles, knowing that the man laying on top of him was close to drifting off.
“Wanna stay up…” Jack mumbles, “Tell you love you…”
“I love you too, and you can tell me in the morning.” Joe replies quietly, lifting his head to kiss the top of Jack’s head. “Night, Jack.”
But this time, there’s no response, only the sound of Jack’s even breathing, a sure sign that he’s finally fallen asleep.
Joe remains awake for a short while longer, listening to the sound of his boyfriends breathing, still slowly running his fingers through Jack’s hair, enjoying the small moment. While he knew Jack was exhausted today, Joe was secretly glad that the younger man had stayed awake for him, because these moments were nice.
Even if Jack usually fell asleep fairly quickly.
Eventually, Joe closes his own eyes, letting the warmth of Jack’s body against his lull him to sleep as well.

A/N - I had two requests to do with Y/N being pregnant that both included Conor so I made them both into one!
Turning onto your left side, you let out a deep sigh as you pulled the duvet up to your chin and nuzzled into the pillow that was under your head.
You were trying to sleep, but the dull ache in your back was making that impossible. But you knew the pain would be worth it when you welcomed the little life into world in 4 months time. Though you and Conor were the only ones that actually knew you were carrying a tiny life inside of you. You thought Conor would have told his friends by now, but he had managed to keep it a secret for now.
You both wanted to do things right. So you decided to wait until you were five months gone before you told anyone, and since your five month mark was yesterday, you were fine to tell all of the boys, and Conor’s brother. You and Conor didn’t really feel ready to tell anyone yet.
Turning onto your back once again, you slid your hand under the duvet and onto your small bump that was just about showing. You had hidden it quite well by wearing Conor’s hoodies and jumpers. The boys didn’t think anything of it as you normally stole Conor’s clothes, but of course he didn’t mind.
A grumble from your right side disrupted your thoughts as you turned your head and smiled at Conor, who returned the smile but very sleepily.
“Can you not sleep?” Conor asked, stretching his arms above his head.
“Not really, my back is aching.” You shrugged, running your left hand through your hair.
“Hurting?” Conor asked, with a concerned look on his face. You smiled at how protective and caring he had been since you told him you were pregnant.
“No, just like a twitch in my back.” You sighed, resting the palm of your hand on your back and starting to rub it gently.
“Come here and sit infront of me.” Conor chuckled as he sat up, switching the light on that was perched on the bedside table next to him.
Smiling to yourself, you moved infront of Conor as he pulled his knees up and you sat yourself in between them.
Conor’s hands moved up the back of your shirt, well it was Conor’s shirt, and he started massaging your back, resting his chin on your shoulder as he nuzzled into your neck.
“I love you, you know that?” Conor mumbled, gently planting a few kisses along your jaw line as shivers shot down your spin. Conor must have felt the goose bumps under his touch because you felt him smirk against your neck.
“I love you too.” You chuckled, leaning your back against his chest as one of Conor’s hands moved around to your bump as the tension started to fade away from your chest.
After a few minutes, both of Conor’s hands were on your bump and he softly kissed your neck a few times.
“Feel better?” Conor asked, stroking your hair gently as you nodded.
“A lot better, thank you.” You smiled, turning around so you were facing him, cross legged.
That sleepy smile that you loved was still plastered on Conor’s face as his eyes sparkled slightly in the dim glow of the lamp on the bedside table.
“Can we go back to sleep?” Conor chuckled, running the pad of his thumb over your cheek.
Nodding in response, you lay back down on the bed and pulled the duvet over yourself again as Conor switched off the bedside lamp.
You felt Conor’s arms wrap around your waist as you turned onto your side again.
“I think we should tell the boys tomorrow, because I’ve got something planned.” Conor told you. Even though it was dark, you could hear him grinning.
“What have you got planned?” You asked, chuckling slightly. God knows what Conor had planned, but whatever it was you knew he wouldn’t tell you.
“You’ll see.” Conor chuckled, kissing your cheek before resting his head on his pillow again and he fell asleep in seconds.
Rolling your eyes in the darkness, you drifted off into a peaceful sleep, wondering what Conor could possibly have planned that involved telling the boys and Jack.
-
The next morning, you were joined in the living room by 6 loud guys who were all asking the same question.
“Where’s Conor then?” Jack groaned impatiently.
“How should I know?” you chuckled, sitting on the sofa next to Joe.
You weren’t lying, you had no idea where Conor was, or when he was coming back.
“He left at 7 this morning, haven’t heard or seen him since.” You told the others, taking a sip of water from the bottle you were holding.
“Have you tried calling him?” Caspar asked, looking up from his phone.
“No Caspar, I never thought of that.” You rolled your eyes, chuckling. You knew Caspar was only trying to be helpful but sometimes it just didn’t pay off.
As if on queue, Conor stepped through the door a few minutes later, holding a box in his arms.
“You all made it!” He grinned excitedly, placing the box on the coffee table infront of himself.
Everyone, you included, looked at the box with a confused expression on your face.
“We’ve got something to tell you guys.” Conor smiled, sliding his jacket off and putting it on the arm of the sofa before offering you his hand.
Still with the confused expression on his face, you stood up and placed your hand in his, making sure his hoodie that you were currently wearing covered your bump.
“You’re engaged?” Jack asked, leaning forward and resting his elbows against his knees.
“No, we-” Conor started.
“You’re pregnant?” Joe laughed, as you and Conor fell silent and looked at the boys as they stared back at you.
“You’re pregnant?” Jack repeated, standing up and his eyes dropped to your stomach.
You nodded slightly as Conor’s grip tightened on your hand.
“Oh my god, I’m going to be an uncle!” Jack grinned, hugging Conor before picking you up off the floor and hugging you tightly.
“I didn’t think you had it in you!” Joe laughed, nudging Conor in the ribs gently with his elbow.
Conor rolled his eyes and chuckled as he hugged all of the boys, and they all hugged you as well.
“
"How did we not see the bloody bump?!” Caspar laughed, as you lifted your hoodie up slightly.
“Clearly I hid it well.” You chuckled, looking down at your bump.
“You’re barely showing though. Are you sure you’re pregnant?” Oli laughed.
“So what are you having?” Jack asked excitedly, having the same sparkle in his eyes that Conor had when he was happy.
“I bet it’s a boy!” Mikey piped up, smiling at you both.
“Girl!” Caspar shouted.
“No, it’s definitely a boy!” Josh butted in, chuckling.
“I actually hope it’s a boy!” Oli grinned.
“It’s a girl, promise!” Joe grinned, eyeing the plain white box suspiciously.
“We don’t actually know yet.” You told them, finding it very cute at how excited all of the boys were.
“Well, actually.” Conor chuckled, rubbing the back of your hand with his thumb as you looked at him confused.
“I went to the hospital this morning and picked up the results, went to a place in town and they made a box to reveal the sex of the baby.” Conor told all of you.
“I thought it would be a bit more exciting this way.” Conor shrugged, looking at you shyly.
A grin spread across your face as you looked at Conor and kissed his cheek.
“Open it! I wanna know if I’m having a niece or nephew!” Jack shouted excitedly.
Conor rolled his eyes and chuckled, taking another smaller box out of the white one, which was splattered with flecks of pink and blue paint.
Butterflies instantly started flying around your stomach as you noticed the writing on the side of the box.
‘He or she? What will baby Maynard be?’
The sight of those words made your heart swell as the boys started shouting excitedly.
“Conor! Open the bloody box!” Joe laughed as Caspar started jumping up and down on the spot.
“You do it.” Conor grinned, rubbing your back gently.
Reaching over, you broke the seal on the box and out floated a large …
Pink balloon.
“It’s a girl!” You grinned excitedly, tears brimming your eyes as the boys all jumped on you and Conor, giving you both hugs once again.
“Our little girl!” Conor smiled happily, resting his hands on your bump as you felt her kick against his hand.
“Our little girl.” You smiled back, leaning your forehead against Conor’s as a single tear rolled down your cheek. You turned back to the boys, who were still bouncing around excitedly.
Your little girl was going to be incredibly lucky to have these idiots around all the time.
