again have not posted in a while. so little update

-BUTTER CAN FLY NOW! like, fully!! and boy is she taking advantage of it

-butter is not transitioning to pellets easily so we're mostly just trying to get her on vegetables and a better seed mix

-she hates wet textures so it's been hard to get her on colored veggies like carrots but she's taken a liking to collard greens

-we got some rope perches for the outside of her cage

and... yeah! that's about it. school has been keeping me busy so we haven't been able to train much but she's been getting used to her wings and spending more time with my family

been a while since I posted here, butter is molting! she was clipped when we got her, so this is very exciting. ill let you know and post videos when she can fly! she is also very comfy with everyone now

Birthday gift for my bird Loki because I love her

She turned 3 today (January 2nd)

She is an absolute goddess and we should all strive to be like her 🛐

You’d have to know her to get the context of some of these and I don’t feel like explaining them all, but I’ll at least say a couple of the things here are her toys that she loves

I used my new set of Ohuhu markers I got for Christmas on this and I absolutely love them

Recommend Ohuhu more than any other brand (I’ve tried several) if you’re a marker person

we had a bit of a rough patch yesterday, since I accidentally bumped her when she stepped up, but we've mostly gotten over that with only a bit of setback in our step up training. she actually fell asleep near me for the first time too!

butter got a fountain, finch fries, twine balls, and a new play stand for christmas.

BUTTER LEFT HER CAGE AND JUST STARTED CHILLIN LIKE 2 FEET AWAY FROM ME

i haven't posted in a while, honestly just been really focused on taming butter, and also had family over, but she has been doing so well. she won't eat her pellets, so we are giving her another week before we move on to 50 50 in her diet transition. she came out of her cage for the first time without a lure and was a very happy camper, i wish i could have seen it but she was with my mom. so just a little update

butter contact called/attention screamed for me!! on one hand i don't want to encourage that behavior, but on the other im just happy she wants my attention. oh also am working on some butter art! and a design for my blog background. I like the purple color so im thinking like a pattern with purple and birds

yesterday we took a bit of a slow day, no training of any sorts and we just sat in the same room with the cage door open. it went really well, and i can tell from her behavior this morning it built some trust between us! so from here on out we're gonna take it a bit slower so that she can be fully ready for each step and more willing to take treats from me.

today butter...

-did not train

-did not eat pellets

-went to bed at 9:10, woke up at 7

butter did pretty well today. we're still working on aggression but it's getting to be hormones season and she's doing really good at self soothing, so im not too worried. we are doing a diet transition, and right now we are at 25 percent pellets 75 percent seeds, but butter is still picking out the seeds to eat so we might have to stay there an extra week. butter did not come out of the cage or take millet, so we are just spending a lot of time coexisting in the room and letting her get used to me being around and close ish to her cage. im learning that she's triggered more by movement than by me being close to the cage, so we are working on that. technically this entry is from yesterday but i can't do a full entry from today because ... today isn't over
