Full stop, I hate how disabled people are ripped off when it comes to buying basic items. Why the fuck is an electric wheelchair $4000, ableds can buy a used car cheaper than that. Ableds get everything catered to them yet I’m trying to get a new wheelchair and can’t afford it. That’s my fucking legs. This also applies to things that disabled people want, like I shouldn’t have to pay $1000 for an adapted guitar. You’re ripping one of the poorest population in the world.
There needs to be a cap on how much vendors can charge for equipment rentals and items that are needed or wanted by disabled people but y’all not ready to talk about that.
Ableds, stop monopolizing off disabled people. (Ableds can reblog this - actually it’s encouraged - but don’t comment!)
Uh, honey? They’re nailing squidward to the cross

I would like to thank the academy as well as greasy Gerard for inspiring me to actually paint something.
menstruating in the summer should be considered a violation of human rights they should defund the police and give the money to the girlies in stem so they put an end to this
love my state, in akron the cops fired 90 rounds at a black man and 60 of them hit him, making him "unrecognizable" and the cops have done such a good job covering it up that ive only seen 2 people talking about it and afaik the only people protesting are some of his friends and family in akron. fukken burn this shithole down
"I have never seen the kind of grief and the kind of pain that I'm seeing today," the family's lawyer told BuzzFeed News.
i mentioned some details that arent in this article but i got those details from a local black activist. i hate to be ranting about this shit on today of all days but im really mad that so few people are talking about this
His name was Jayland Walker. He was 25 years old.
This all started because of a "traffic violation."
All 8 cops involved are now on paid fucking vacation.
Justice for Jayland Walker.
Damn NASA is retiring the ISS in 2031 and crashing it into the ocean
"the ISS will continue to conduct research and develop technology through 2030 while NASA works on transitioning the capabilities of the station to commercially owned and operated entities"
So that's it we're just handing space over to Musk and Bezos that's cool
source
We JUST launched the James Webb telescope, Perseverance has been active for barely a year, Gateway (an outpost in lunar orbit) is still planned for a 2024 launch, and we are making advances in space physiology constantly - we are not "handing space over".
The ISS was launched in the year 2000. By the time it is decommissioned, it will be over 30 years old and have gone through countless (expensive) repairs. It was always going to have to come down. We originally planned to retire it as early as 2024 (super fascinating report btw).
As to why it's headed for the ocean, we literally can't do anything else with it. It is incredibly expensive (and potentially dangerous) to boost it out of orbit and just into space and we can't gently land it anywhere on Earth. Dunking it into Point Nemo is standard for anything in low earth orbit - including the ISS.
We are not going to stop space research. We are transitioning to a deep-space focus. Artemis and the Mission to Mars are thriving and - at least from the space physiology angle - we will continue to conduct research in LEO.
It is, to put it lightly, suboptimal that NASA has to transition LEO research to commercial entities so that they can fund the missions to the moon and Mars. But it is far from a death knell for space research or travel, it is just indicative of NASA's current focus and resources.
Also worth mentioning that America is not the only country with an interest in LEO research, both Russia (ROSS) and China (Tiangong) have plans for space stations to be completed within the next decade.

Among the New York City employees, the city correction officers have the lowest vaccination rates; in fact, many refuse vaccination. The CO's are essentially doing work slow-downs, sick-outs (they have unlimited sick time), and with so many correction officers refusing vaccination, Rikers Island stands as a "super-spreader" in a hyper confined environment coupled with staff neglect.
Other conditions facing prisoners include freezing temperatures in non-insulated prison dorms, mail being withheld, denial of personal visits from any family members, not even being produced in court for hearings in their cases, and denial of video conferences with attorneys.
