It just occured to me that compared to all of our possible friends, Barnaby has hella eyebags, like the insomnia kind, they might be partially natural, but Cecil didn’t have them, they might not be a genetic thing.

But even compared to the people you’d expect to be missing out on sleep (Ravenclaws, Bill, Prefect friends, even Ben), Barnaby still has noticably worse eyebags.

Which leads to a theory that might have been explored already, but what if Barnaby has like, genuine insomnia of some form, possibly stemming from childhood trauma. Because all of our friends, MC included, lived through the first wizarding war caused by Voldemort, they were all young children during it. But Barnaby said he’s seen Voldemort in person, and that his parents and (possibly) grandma are abusive.

People can stop sleeping like that for a whole multitude of reasons, and trauma is right up there.

Anyways, Barnaby has some form of insomnia, thanks for coming to my poorly put together TEDTalk.
