lucas james costa is finishing up his last year in the hamptons with hopes of graduating and attending uc berkeley to study environmental science. four years in at bridgehampton and he's known as the bucolic, which makes perfect sense considering how charismatic, compassionate, dogmatic, and scatterbrained he is. that title landed him the senior class superlative of most likely to be found at woodstock when you hear sunset lover - petit biscuit coming from a car this summer, itβll most likely be them. speaking of summer, once school ends i hear his plans are to take a month long road trip to yosemite. i canβt help but to be reminded of sunlight peaking through emerald leaves, the feeling of the wind whipping through curly hair, long car rides to an unknown destination, and the sound of birds chirping on a crisp, early morning.Β

lucas was always the odd one out when it came to the kids in bridgehampton. it was apparent when all the other kids bragged about their extravagant summer vacations, lucas and his parents always had the same summer break: some sort of service based trip, where he spent the majority of the time working. his mother and father are both prominent civil rights and environmental attorneys, who have money but never really flaunted it. that was clear when he turned 16. lucas asked for a brand new jeep and was given a used one from the early 2000βs, while all the others drove expensive cars. needless to say, lucas didnβt really connect with the others at the surface level. many kept him in good company because he lived in the neighborhood, while most pegged him as the βhippie.βΒ
nonetheless, lucas is loved and considered a great asset to the group. he loves adventures, partying, and having a good time. it was no surprise that he got accepted to UC berkeley. in fact, many were expecting it. a lover of the outdoors and all things liberal, it seemed like he couldnβt fit in anywhere else. to be frank, lucas was never really a east coast kid. the west coast was where he belonged. as his senior year has winded down, a part of him knows that this is the last time him and his friends will be together. for that reason, heβs making the most of their senior year. he has plans of organizing a road trip, bonfire, and even camping trip for all of them to attend. before they all leave, lucas wants his friends to experience the outdoors in a whole new way.Β
