“I’m sure they’ve figured it out! They’re smart after all.” He explained, now thoroughly curious about this muggle invention. Avery carefully took the phone back from his sister, turning it this way and that to get a better look. “I dunno but we can find out. They can!?”

       “I’m not saying they’re not smart. Of course they are, but I mean... I don’t think they’ve yet figured out how to break the limits of their physics. Doubt they ever will.” As he turned the phone in his hand, she stepped back. “If that thing explodes and you’re left without a hand, Grandma’s going to chop the other one off for being reckless. Don’t risk it!”

“I don’t think so? I mean, you can’t yell all of the time.” He furrowed his brows, turning the phone this way and that, inspecting it. “Dunno. Maybe you can keep things inside.” Avery shrugged, now curious enough to attempt to open it.

       “It’s too small! Muggles haven’t figured out how to put that many things in there. Even with an extension charm, containers aren’t heavy.” Passing it back to him, she nudged Avery, nodding at the artifact once more. “Do you know how to open it? Isn’t that dangerous? I heard someone saying those can explode.”

“Apparently you can call people with it. It’s like those phones on the street you see in London. I don’t know either, maybe it’s just special to someone.”

        “Call people? Like yell at them?” She asked, eyes widening a little in shock. “Muggles really like yelling at each other don’t they?” Taking it from his hands, she held it, moving it from one hand to the other. “And on top of everything, it’s heavy. Why is it heavy?”

        “What does it do? I don’t like the way it looks. In any case, someone must’ve lost it. I don’t know why bring it here anyway if... you know.”

       “I don’t know, but it looks like something grandma would slap out of your hand. Where did you even find it?”

He silently laughed. “What do we need to do at the Greenhouse, again?”

        “Anything that doesn’t involve staying all day inside is a good thing. Plus, there are flowers at the greenhouses. And it’s less dangerous than the lake, so don’t laugh at me, and keep up.”

“Honey, if you knew me like really knew me then you would be lecturing the hell out of me right now. But, thank you for not lecturing me.” he said. “Dominique Weasley. She’s the most amazing person you’d ever meet.  Strong and opinionated, not afraid to speak her mind and tell it like it is.” He chuckled. “Smart girl but when you do get a boyfriend or girlfriend treasure them. It was. I loved her quite a lot. But, I understood why she did it and I’m not angry.”

        “I don’t like lecturing or scolding anyone. What people do is their problem and their problem alone. And me doing things differently than they would? That’s... really no reason to be bothersome. Is it?” Upon hearing his explanation, she could tell he was indeed very much in deep. Still, she remembered seeing them together every now and then, and she had never been particularly impressed. Honestly, Mina was hardly ever impressed by anything, much less a couple that looked... like Ken and ginger Barbie. Of course, she wouldn’t say that out loud. It’d be rude, and she wasn’t rude. “If it’s good for anything, I’m sorry you’re going through this rough patch. If you’re meant to be together, you’ll be together, soulmates, you’ll find your way back... all that stuff. Why did she break up?”

“Thank you. I’m just not in the mood to deal with anyone giving me a lecture at the moment.” He said stopping the bag. “My girlfriend and I broke up and it sucks.”

        “Like I said, I have no reasons to lecture you. I don’t even know who your girlfriend was. I tend to not pay much attention to anything other than my brother, and school, and the current state of the world.” She stated simply, clearing her throat. “But I can imagine it was rough. Did you like her a lot?”

       “Not my intention at all. In fact, if there’s someone who would probably lecture you upon seeing you, that’s probably not me, so I don’t know why I–” She shook her head. “What’s wrong?”

Alek couldn’t help but chuckle. “I can not forget it. Not every day a pretty girl compliments you.”

       “I... You think I’m pretty?” She felt the blush coming right to her cheeks after she poised the question. Good God, her family would be disappointed. “We should get going before I say anything that will make things worse. Come on we’re... we’re almost at the Greenhouses.”

        “I hardly think anything can be done to lower your physical attractive.” She took a deep breath. “... did I say that out loud? I-I just mean you look nice either way. Not that I spend my time wondering. Please forget I even said any of this.”

“It’s tons of fun, don’t get me wrong— but I’d much rather be writing the plays than getting pushed and shoved way up in the sky.”

        “That sounds like something fun to do! I actually like watching the games even if I’m completely inadequate on a broom. Is that your plan for when you’re out?”

“I’ve actually told my girlfriend that I’d let her try to teach me again and that is definitely something I’ve been avoiding.” Marcus told her, sympathizing with her fears. “I think it’s legitimate, but you’re also talking to the bloke who only passed flying class first year because the daughter of a Quidditch professional spent hours making sure he could at least stay upright on the thing without puking.”

        “I fell off my broom, and only passed because honestly... who fails that? It’s mostly just a requirement. My brother passed it with honours, and according to my grandmother, that’s because I’m a girl, and he’s a boy, but oh well. I think I ought to look for someone to teach me as well, because I think perhaps it’d be less vomit inducing than apparating. I don’t think that’s honestly a traveling method made for everyone. Not for me at least.”

“I was afraid at first, too but..you get used to it.” Addie grinned, “The feeling of being in the air is..indescribable.”

         “I passed that class on first year out of sheer luck. I don’t know how awful I’d do now. I’d probably try but I sincerely don’t think I could ride one all on my own on the first try.”

         “I’d love to learn, but admittedly, I feel like brooms are actually just looking for excuses to drop people. Is that even a legitimate fear to have? Am I crazy, Mark?”

        “I can imagine, but I frankly prefer reducing the risk of an impending early death by staying right where I am. Isn’t it difficult? I mean, shouldn’t the broom be working with you? Brooms don’t really work with me.”
