Black Twitter Drags New Black Celebs
One of the first and most influential users of the tag, #BlackCelebsBeLike, was Zellie Imani, an activist and blogger behind the website black-culture. “The goal really was to challenge the pedestal we sometimes put celebrities on and not to allow media to use them as spokespersons for [all] black people,” he tells BBC Trending via email.
Imani mentioned the remarks by Common and Terrence Howard. “I was surprised that the hashtag took off so fast but i wasn’t surprised at how many people felt about the issue,” he says. “Celebrities experience racism and discrimination even when they are in denial of its existence. Denying racism doesn’t make it exist any less.”
Drag ha
Drag ALL of them. Let me list a few others
Nia Long- said #AllLivesMatter- http://bit.ly/1X5oA2j
Michael B Jordan- “I don’t see color” also says he only wants “white roles”, AND the usual “All lives matter” 🙄🙄- http://on.thegrio.com/1TGKt1w
Naomi Campbell- Says she doesn’t use the word “racism” because it’s “cliche” 😂😂 foh- http://ind.pn/24eHlPj
Keri Hilson- Says Rachel Dolezal has done more for the black community than black people ever have- http://nydn.us/1TGKwKx
Pharrel- Flat out calls himself a new black and he actually coined the term. Says it’s not about pigmentation and we shouldn’t blame other races for our problems- http://huff.to/1UcLBJw
Keke Palmer- Tried to place the blame on black people for Mike Brown’s death. Said we should stop separating ourselves through race because that’s the issue- http://bit.ly/1Vo9ovk
B.o.B- Said black people have been killing themselves for years, so what’s the difference when cops do it- http://bit.ly/1WsVk4O
Feel free to add to the list
How Keke tried to place the black on black people when she dead ass went to a March and the cops shot at her just cause she was standing there ?
What kinda logic ???

Why do you deny yourself heaven? Why do you consider yourself undeserving? Why are you afraid of love? You think it’s not possible for someone like you. But you are the love of my life. Love of my life the love of my life the love of my life

Around this time next year
I’m gonna plan a trip, where to? I dont know. But I owe it to myself. I just know it’s gonna be a warm destination...and I can swim in the sea.
now that’s my rebirth.
I realized, I was crying over someone who simply didn’t care. I’m finally moving on. Although you did teach me one thing, to never hold on to someone who isn’t holding on to you. As for me, I know better, as for you, you lost a person who actually cared.

You can’t spend the best years of your life waiting for somebody to love you back.
8pm thoughts (via unisex)
why i’ve lowkey come to resent love songs that emphasize dependency.
“Precious love You held my life within your hands Created everything I am Taught me how to live again”
Currently mending a broken heart, the food in my mouth suddenly becomes tasteless the minute I hear that verse. I grow tense, as I remember that feeling of rebirth the very first night me and my now ex got together. I am suddenly overwhelmed with sweet memory of that night and the bitter reminder that such nights will happen no more. I can’t swallow.
Love songs obviously are counterproductive to the healing of the end of a relationship and as such I try to avoid them as much as I can. But my mom is blasting them from her stereo...and I am typing this furiously, trying not to cry, or reminisce.
Still, love songs do feel good, if you’re in love with someone or with yourself. But me, I am bitter. I am not loving anyone and hearing songs that croon about how love made them brand new and when said love ends they don’t know how to heal....makes me feel ashamed for once feeling that same way. Brand new...and now I am slowly picking up pieces. Hearing these songs reflect the feels I once had and looking back, I wish I loved me more than the relationship itself. It wouldnt hurt so bad.
So that’s why these love songs irk me. They take me back to that needy place I aint know I had and I am trying really hard to never go back there.
Break ups for some aren’t easy, and hearing these songs can set off unpleasant reactions. After a series of anxiety episodes, I am somewhat calm. Internally accepting my new reality. No these songs don’t help but writing this post does.
For those in the Heartbreak Hotel, sending y’all healing vibes and Amy Winehouse’s Back to Black album.
How to Fall in Love: A Letter to All My Brown Girls Waiting for Men Who Never Show Up
Dont fall in love with men who love white women. They dont know how to value black bodies.
Dont fall in love with men who cant see the fullness of your womanhood. They will treat you worse than a man.
Dont fall in love with men who cant see you as you want to be seen. You’ll become invisible.
Dont fall in love with men that you have to teach your humanity. Your voice will become hoarse.
Dont fall in love with men who take advantage of your honesty. He’ll try and strangle you with your own truth.
Dont fall in love with men who aren’t eager to hear what you have to say. He wont value the longings of your heart.
Dont fall in love with men who dont respect trans women, sex workers, poor women, and those women seen as Undesirables unworthy of male desire and care. What happens if you step outside the realm of his desire? Run from Men who make exceptions to womanhood.
Dont fall in love with men who always leave you feeling confused and unsure. They dont know themselves and cant know you.
Dont fall in love with men who are jaded and insecure. They will make you prove your love by hurting you.
Dont fall in love with men.
Dont fall in love.
Fall into the Abyss of Your Womanhood and love the man or person who enters thereafter….
