I think this was another atempt of show us that Jess was "the bad boy".
But It was awful, cause how can you not care about your best friend' s nephew? How can you blame your best friend for taking his nephew with him? How can you blame your best friend for the accident? When you know how much he cares and loves your daughtee.
The whole Lorelai hates Jess thing makes me so mad
I like that Derek Hale is so glorified in the teen wolf fandom. In every fic he is painted out to be so flawless and unreachable, otherworldly. He is self sacrificing and humble, beautiful and soft under the surface. His smile, his dry-wit, his loyalty. If there is one thing a sterek fic writer believes, itโs that Derek Hale is perfect. Even his flaws are painted in a kind light. The sarcasm, the anger, the tragedy. Itโs all forgiven, excused, and cherished. Considering how Derek Hale was treated by the actual writer, itโs nice that there are so many people out there who hold him so dearly. He really does deserve nice things
It started as a fleeting thought but I'm now convinced that Jess started smoking so young to kill his appetite.
He was tired of being hungry all the time and a pack of cigarettes is cheaper than food for the day.
Why do I think this?
Liz says herself in season six that she's never made a meal before. (At this point, her son is 20.) She can't fathom how to make biscuits from a tube. There's no way she was feeding him regularly.
She more than once dated a man who robbed them when he left them.
She drank and used drugs when pregnant with Jess and when he was young. She laughs this off when she's pregnant again, like Jess was her first pancake and not a human life.
She never once called to see if Jess made it to Stars Hallow safely, never called on holidays, never called on his birthday, never called when he got into the car accident, never called when he left Stars Hallow.
And then when she shows up, we're supposed to like her??
We're supposed to be mad at Jess for not caring about her 6th marriage? To think that he was disrespectful to her? He owed her absolutely nothing.
These are just the things that we hear the characters openly admit. Anyone who's been abused will tell you that what they share is only the tip of the iceberg.
I was so confuse when Liz show Up because everything that we hear or see throught Jess or Luke is problematic, is a mother Who sent her son away because she doesn't know what to do with him and then we have information of her being super irresponsible with Jess or in her Life in general.
So when she suddenly show Up in Stars Hollow being a inofensive hippie and a little bit crazy but in a maybe fun way, I was like what the fuck IS this, i'm suppose to like this woman (?)
๐ After the scandalous Rolling Stone cover, Avery Fox has no choice but to take refuge at her grandmother's ranch, whom she has never met.
๐ The Red Fox Ranch is Lucas Iron Eyes' home and he's not going to let pop princess Avery Fox ruin the peace of his home.
I love romantic comedies, but I love western romcoms even more, and this one in particular is amazing. It has a lot of Hannah Montana the Movie vibes, those super cute Disney movie vibes.
As for the larger family drama between Avery and her family, I like that it doesn't take up the entire story, so we can see how Avery deals with her grandmother, whom she never met, and develops that connection to the Muscogee nation she's longed for from the beginning, discovering who the real Avery Fox is.
I was surprised by Lucas's story. Normally, romantic comedies have some drama, but they don't touch on topics like addiction, so I really liked that this story was part of Lucas, giving him that background and letting you know more about his life and how he arrived at the Red Fox ranch when he was only 16 years old.
I was so hooked that when I was reaching the final twists, I couldn't believe I was finishing it. I needed more of Lucas and Avery, of their beautiful love story, but unfortunately everything must come to an end.
I know that Jess started off bad in Star Hollow. He had a bad life but that doesn't excuse anything. But also everything they threw at him about the attitude towards people, the being a recluse, etc is so hypocritical because they all love Luke. They are so obsessed with keeping the town just the way it is. They ridicule anyone who is new and it's not fair to Jess. Then as soon as the accident happens with Rory, they further ostracized him blaming him. And he didnt deserve that. Hes a child. A child who resembles Luke so much even without growing up around him. The attitude, the sense of humor (dry), even the clothes. The only person who really had any reason to hate the kid is Dean. Even then he hated him before Rory even started her infatuation. And lorelai obviously.
I see two things, people in Stars Hollow are a little bit crazy with all the Happy town thing and the other one I thought when I watched It the first time, is that they make a lot of effort into make us see Jess as "the ultimate bad boy", and It turn out too extreme because they are literaly adults having a secret meeting to Kick out a kid from their town, acting like he is the only trouble kid in town where there are other kids, that i'm pretty sure are also problematic or done some problematic shit.
Half the reason Katniss succeeded where Haymitch failed was that she went into the Games without any desire for insurrection, without any desire to rebel.
Instead, her every choice was fuelled by a desperate love of her little sister; volunteering in Primโs place, trying her best to win sponsors, killing tributes when necessary, all in the hopes she could make it back home to her Primrose, the beautiful, little flower. Katniss played to win, not because she thought it was acceptable, but because her sister needed her. Her stunt with the berries was intended to be a very personal, self-contained act of rebellion, so small and sudden and unexpected that the Capitol broadcast it before they could consider the repercussions.
Haymitch, on the other hand, did not play to win, but to blatantly undermine the Capitol wherever possible. He did not play to see his family again, but threw caution to the wind and pulled stunts so openly that they never would have reached the districtsโ eyes.
Haymitch tried to be something he wasnโt - โthe rascalโ - unwittingly playing right into Snowโs hands. Katniss couldnโt help but be herself (because she was such a bad actor, haha), rebelling in little ways simply out of habit, which is exactly why all the districts saw bits of themselves in her.
๐After finishing college, Colin Hartrick returns to his hometown with his family, determined to win back the love of his life, Scarlett.
๐After five long years, Scarlett Wallace is a totally different person and has completely moved on from her ex, at least until Colin comes back into her life and everything falls apart.
The story intercuts the present with the past, so you have their perspective as teenagers and the perspectives of the present as adults. It's a really easy way to situate yourself to know what happened between them and what kind of relationship they had, in order to understand their decisions in the present.
Autism is a big part of this story since Colin is autistic. I love that this is a positive part of the story. It's added information to help us understand Colin, and it's also covered throughout the story, giving us more insight into how different situations and emotions affect people with autism, since mental health is a big factor throughout the series.
Colin and Scarlett are adorable. Scarlett is a shining light; she never stops talking when she's nervous or in general, and Colin loves listening to her and likes her because she explains absolutely everything without omitting any details, which helps him with his anxiety. Colin, on the other hand, is more logical and loves to say different things depending on the situation or make up jokes, something Scarlett loves. He also reminds her of things she often forgets. They complement each other wonderfully.
It's not all a pretty walk, even though they're both adorable. It's a very beautiful but heartbreaking book at the same time. Colin made a mistake five years ago and it devastated Scarlett. Therefore, there's a lot of pain and mistrust throughout the story. With all this added in, it's also very spicy, so there's a bit of everything in this book.

๐Piper Hartrick only has one public enemy: Leo Diaz. Every time Piper had a happy moment, Diaz was there to ruin it all; at least that's how she remembers it.
๐Leo Diaz isn't subtle or discreet. He tells you straight up what bothers him, which is why he can't help but tell Piper everything he thinks about her at every moment of his life.
๐Their hatred for each other is undeniable, but what happens when Leo needs Piper's help with his college project? Can they work together without sparks flying?
Piper and Leo have hated each other since high school, and of course, when they also meet in college, things get crazy.
I love that we have a book about Piper and get to see her perspective on the events of the previous book.
Although the book initially focuses on Piper, I really like that we see much more of Leo than Piper. We already know Piper's family and surroundings, so it's interesting to delve deeper into Leo's life and have the romance centered on his territory, which is the theater, rather than focusing solely on Piper's surroundings, which we already know. This way, we get to know Leo better as a character, beyond his feelings and interactions with Piper.
It's a spicy book, but those aspects don't cover the whole story, and in fact, they are key points for the plot and the development of the characters and their relationships.
You understand why they hate each other so much, and why they clash so much since they are very opposite poles. They are those relationships where their opposites make them complement each other because what is weak in one, in the other is a main part of their personality, so they complement each other.
