This is @the-character-zero. My favourite character is Undyne, though ironically I can barely compete her fight lol. My favourite (and really only) ship is Alphyne.

dreaming of robot doctors and nurses who gently take care of her and worry about her

this is why she’s drawn to stronger women— people who can take care of her easily, carry her to bed when her legs hurt or when she is weak.

undyne doesnt need to understand— she just wants to help. so she does. comes by her lab more often to dote on her, make sure she’s okay, carrying her to bed on late nights.

undyne thinking alphys is sick like her, and thinking she wants undyne to think she’s strong.

alphys thinking undyne is too strong to ever feel weak the way she does, and too brave to want to be cared for like she wants to.

and then, slowly opening up. realizing each other’s perspectives.

undyne shocked that someone so smart and independent could want to be taken care of.

alphys amazed that her brave, strong darling could be struggling quietly the whole time.

SHUTDOWN/Shutdown for one would play out interestingly. There's a small chance Undyne would confess to her other disabilities (ie in addition to her missing eye which is obvious) due to a subconscious desire for solidarity she doesn't understand. Nobody else would have a clue, and ironically telling Alphys may delay or prevent everyone else finding out. I'd love to infodump more specifically about it but that would be spoilers and the fic's not even out lol.

...Do you have an AO3 and would you want to be tagged when I release the first chapter? I'm hoping to have it out by the end of this month (in disability pride month), but it's getting tight and it might release early August instead.

I think this is the most finished-sounding of all the unused tracks. I made this before I really knew Undyne’s personality, so while the arrangement is good, I felt like it didn’t sound enough like being heroically punched in the face.

The (admittedly lacklustre) canon "evidence" I have scraped together for autistic Undyne (no c5 spoilers as I haven't played DR):

What it was based on: Papyrus is autistic coded. Alphys is also autistic coded. Undyne has close bonds with both of them and many autistic people find it easier to build rapport with other autistics.

Her aversion to cold and sweet foods could be a sensory issue.

According to Alphys, Undyne makes intense eye contact, which some autistic people do either naturally or as a result of attempting to mask (i.e. overcompensating).

She shows signs of ADHD (such as jumping between topics during discussions) which commonly occurs together with autism.
