Hi, I'm new. (Not really, I've been lurking, but I finally made an account!)

I'm currently swimming through the entirety of the #Chris/Christopher Kent tags.. once I reach the end, I'm throwing a party! :D Ok not really, but I might start posting my own fics then... maybe.... I want to write but I don't think I'm very good, but I know *practice* is what is needed to become good.......and the world needs more Chris Kent stories!

Anyway.. any writers have any tips? Any readers have any recs? Any fellow Chris Kent Supremacists have any headcanons?

Reading Kneel Before Zod and, I'm not gonna lie, it's a bit difficult to not think about how badly DC fumbled Chris/Lor and then get very annoyed about it.

i constantly think that chris as the son of superman's worst enemy, but still accepted by clark as his own child, would create such a good contrast dynamic with early damian "blood over all" that jon just never could have. and both chris and damian had to be about the same age before phantom zone's retcon😭

Tbh in my hey brother au that's part of the reason I decided to just. Phase out Jon and replace him with Chris. Partly because I've read Chris' comics and none of Jon's (by choice), but because I just found him and Damian as a supersons duo to be infinitely more interesting.

Chris would be maybe two years or so younger than Damian, but if you're willing to shove him in the Phantom Zone again, that can be boosted up to them being around the same age.

Nothing against Jon (objectively. Subjectively, I dislike him) but Chris "Daddy Clark saved me and takes care of me and loves me. I want to be a hero to help people like he helped me. The people who gave birth to me hurt me and don't love me and aren't good people. I am not bad because of their blood in my veins, we are not the same. Being good is a choice I make that they didn't" Kent and early Damian "I am the one true heir to the Bat, the blood son, I am worthier because of my blood and my father's adopted children are below me because they don't share it" Al Ghul Wayne could have been so fun.

Both from villainous homes to hero homes but have two different ways of viewing them, partly due to the difference between Clark and Bruce. And as Damian does finally get over his "blood is everything" mentality and becomes more individualistic and realizes his blood means nothing he doesn't want it to, like he did in canon, I do think him and Chris could get each other in a way Jon and Damian couldn't.

Chris watching Damian struggle with the same sort of feelings he did, and still sort of does, struggle with and knowing where it comes from and understanding. Being grateful for his family all over again (we got Chris and Kara and Karen, sure, but CHRIS AND KON COULD HAVE BEEN SO FUN!! THEY WOULD HAVE LOVED EACH OTHER) and being able to say "I get you. Not completely, but I get you" and it being true, UGHHH

tbh i’m pretty adamant on chris calling tim robin for a while after he’s back. tim’s like "that’s sweet but i’m not robin anymore" and chris is like "okay robin :)" because tim is his robin and tim is like "this is going to cause me so many problems". eventually it splits into his robin (tim) and actual robin (damian, who dislikes this considering chris is his friend) then mellows out into just calling damian robin, though tim is still his favorite robin. severe attachment formed in distressing scenarios led to chris imprinting on him firmly and tim is too fond of him to do anything about it

As of the present day, Chris has befriended and cares for about 14 total Phantom Zone creatures and other alien animals from across both the Milky Way and Andromeda galaxies within the Fortress of Solitude’s habitats, even giving them names. One of them is a giant alien dragon with three heads, each named Louie, Screwy, and Duey

Oh that's cute. And I haven't even thought of any Phantom Zone creatures. Is his menagerie bigger than Damian's? Do they have a competition going on? (Was the alien dragon's names "LSD" intentional?)

In my headcanon, animals hate Chris; they can sense the Nightwing inside of him and it scares the bejeebus out of them. He can't even help out on his grandparents' farm. Or even rescue a cat from a tree. It makes him very sad....but! That is also why Beast Boy is his favorite Teen Titan! When Garfield learned about Chris' animal problem, he made it his mission to ensure that Superman's son gets to experience the animal kingdom in all its glory, one beast at a time.

Do you have any Chris Kent headcanons?

Maybe a few, let's see....

*withholds never-ending list of headcanons for now, as I am still swimming through the Chris Kent tag; after I have finished the task, I plan to start writing, or at least, I plan to try to start writing all these stories down, as I have no confidence in my own writing abilities at the moment*

But I'll give you one fun headcanon: his eyes change color! His natural eye color is a honey brown, but when the Nightwing is present (or "awake" inside of him) his eyes turn light blue. That doesn't necessarily mean the Nightwing is controlling him at the moment, just that the deity is "aware". (See? My writing sucks or I could explain this better.)

Thank you so much 𖹭 but WHY THE ONIONS? WHY?? lol I mean, I'll bet his Kryptonian DNA helps a lot when it comes to things like that. But I'd also like to think his Phantom Zone mutation (or whatever it should be called) gives him immunities that the other Kryptonians don't have. Either that or Chris no longer has any tears left to cry at this point and so onions hold no power over him.
