witchy ways to help with trichotillomania/dermatillomania
this might be a little too niche but one of the most frequent things i use witchcraft for is minor healing stuff for my many, many bfrbs, so i thought id share my favorites!
✨ draw sigils on your hands/fingers/nails to help prevent picking! bonus: seeing the sigil alone can serve as a reminder.
✨ enchant a ring or bracelet to emit a calming energy when you fiddle with it, as both a replacement behavior and a way to soothe whatever triggered you to want to pick in the first place
✨ cast glamours to project confidence and minimize others’ focus on any areas you don’t want them to see!
✨ bath magic can really help with physical and spiritual inflammation
✨ topical potions and salves can help with preventing infection and irritation, and many ingredients in over-the-counter balms have magical healing associations, such as witch hazel and aloe!
✨ garnet and various types of agate are good for promoting stability and confidence, so they’re good to help prevent relapse
✨ rose quartz, selenite, and amethyst have super soothing energy, and can help promote healing, so they’re good to help after an episode (and also just good for bfrbs in general)
✨ if there’s a particular time of day you usually pick, charge some water with the energy of the opposite time of day, and use that for healing potions or tea! ex: i tend to pick around 7pm, so i make sun water charged at dawn!
✨ self love spells aren’t directly related, but i find they really help with acceptance as a side bonus!
