Why is tumblr celebrating one piece and not this incredibly important religious date
This is Eman a Biotechnologist from Gaza. Asking for help is not easy. It's not easy at all. You have no idea how mentally and emotionally tiring this is. But when thinking that the price is my family's life, getting out of here safely and achieve my doctoral degree dream, it just pushes me more and more to do this until we reach our goal. I'm here as I try to reach out to more people asking for their help to support our family's campaign so we can survive while all you have to do is literally donating even by just the price of your morning coffee or maybe a simple breakfast, So I think I'm not asking for so much. We're really tired of living under these catastrophic conditions for a whole 10 months. We live a life you cannot bear watch it behind screens. Your generosity will not only change our lives but also remind us that even in our darkest hour, we are not alone.
Thank you for reaching out. I'll reblog this ask so more people can see it and donate!
ok looks like we're gonna be doing the same thing, different verse, now that it's Kamala Harris on the Dem ticket instead of Joe Biden.
friendly reminder that one of these 2 people is getting elected. there's not a magical 3rd party person who's mystical and perfectly progressive who is gonna come out of the woodwork and save us. not voting or voting 3rd party isn't a "protest," it's capitulation. so let's do a comparison:
On Gaza:
I forgot to add to this that Trump also stated he will deport any non-citizen who protests the war in Gaza.
On LGBTQ+ rights:
On criminal justice:
On reproductive rights:
On the border:
In case you don't believe me re: the last Trump point.
On voting rights:
On climate change:
On the working class:
letâs groove tonight, share the spice of life
âgetting thicker skinâ is great in theory but I think for some people âget better at handling your thin skinâ is gonna be way more helpful advice. I have strong emotional reactions to criticism and they might never go away, but i can continue to try and handle each situation maturely and thatâs the important part. Sometimes irrational feelings are chronic and living with them is better than trying to beat yourself up into not having them.
what is it with able bodied people saying âget well soonâ after you say that youâre chronically ill?? like? i am not gonna? and i once literally responded with âiâm not gonna, itâs chronic, as in permanent.â and they went like âoh well, hope you get better!â like bro đ
Speaking for me personally (and also as someone who has their own chronic health issues), most of it is, as someone mentioned in the replies, script failure. Humans have a lot of scripts and shorthands for social interactions, and the most common one for finding out someone is ill or injured is to wish them a swift recovery. There isn't really a script for how to respond when someone won't recover tho, and so many people end up falling back on the script they do know even if it's not really applicable.
In my own personal experience, when I end up saying - or feeling the impulse to say - 'get well soon' to someone with a chronic condition, what I'm really trying to convey is something more along the lines of 'I hope your good days outnumber the bad ones', and 'I hope you find treatment that is effective for and accessible to you', and especially 'hey the fact that you are in pain sucks and I wish you weren't but I know that's not likely to change soon but also I hope that it will anyway because I hate to see people suffering and the 5-year-old inside me is insisting it's not fair even though the adult me knows that's not how it works but anyway the point is I hope you're in as little pain as it's possible for you to be in'. All of which is quite a bit harder to fit on a greeting card than 'get well soon', and which don't have any conveinent shorthands that will let me express those sentiments in a concise, understandable manner.
thank you so much for explaining this! i saw the âscript failureâ reply but didnât really understand what that meant & also didnât have the time before to further ask.
but this actually makes sense and i think iâll try to just take it to mean things like that whenever someone wishes me well/a swift recovery now! again, thank you so much!!
how do you treat ugly fat people? fat people with poor hygiene? fat people with visible disibility aides? fat people with absolutely zero dress sense? fat people who sweat easily? fat people who take up multiple seats on public transport? fat people who are balding? who have poor teeth? who have health complications due to their weight? what about fat people who fit into any of the aforementioned categories and are also visibly transgender? or is a POC? or both? when a fat black woman shows any emotion, what do you think of her? does your fat acceptance begin and end with the fat people you want to fuck?

Save My Family from the War Nightmare in Gaza
Hello
I am Mohammad Taysir, 34 years old, a Palestinian living in Gaza. I am married to Basma, and we have two children: Joud, who is 3 years old, and Yazan, who is 2 and a half. I am writing to you from the heart of destruction and suffering in palestine
Our lives used to be normal, filled with hope and hard work, until war came and destroyed everything.

Before the war, I worked as a mobile programmer, and my wife was a schoolteacher. We had many aspirations and lived a simple yet happy life, dreaming of a bright future for our children.
Hello, I am Mohammad Taysir, 34 years old, a Palestinian living in Gaz⌠Mohammed Alanqar needs your support for Save My Family from the War
The war came and changed everything. Our home was destroyed, we lost our jobs, and we became homeless.
We tried to flee to safer areas in search of security. But safety in Gaza has become nearly impossible. Death and destruction are everywhere, and our children live in an endless nightmare. Opportunities for education and entertainment have vanished, and basic necessities are scarce. We are suffering from poverty and despair.
We are now searching for an opportunity to live in a safe place outside Gaza. However, this is very costly, and we are in desperate need of your support. We want to provide a dignified life and a better future for our children. We believe that humanity and compassion still exist, and that there are those who will respond to our desperate plea.
Every donation, no matter how small â $5 or $10, or 50$ will have a significant impact on our lives. Your contributions will help us cover the costs of travel and living in a safe country. We want to start a new life away from fear and destruction, giving our children a chance to dream and hope again.

You motherfuckers yes I hate Kamala too but when she is announced to be the Democratic candidate we are all going to shoot fireworks and go to the goddamn polls
GRIPPING EVERYBODYâS SHOULDERS SO TIGHTLY RIGHT NOW. YOU WILL VOTE FOR HARRIS. YOU WILL RECOGNIZE THAT THERE IS NO MORAL WAY TO BE PRESIDENT OF THE US AND YOU WILL STILL VOTE TO STRATEGICALLY PROTECT YOURSELF AND OTHERS.
YOU ARE THE REALEST MOTHERFUCKER ON THIS SITE!!!
yo does anyone else feel CONSTANTLY guilty? like youâve always done something wrong but you donât know what it is?
Yes, and Iâve spoken to my therapist about it, who offered an explanation:
She says that people who from a young age were made to feel like they kept doing things wrong - people whoâs parents had impossibly high standards for them, people who were bullied, people who have special needs, people who didnât develop crushes on the ârightâ people, people who didnât act like the ârightâ gender - basically ended up being made to feel guilty so much that guilt became their default response to everything. Guilt became the emotional response to anything which the person didnât already have a set emotion for.
People for whom guilt is the default emotional response are also more likely to have low self-esteem, doubt their own experiences, and experience impostor syndrome. So, watch out for that too guys

Wind deers :] weird mimic-esque animals that look like wind turbines. they settle down in one spot and open their face panels during the day to absorb solar energy & they often camp out for weeks by windmill farms before moving on. People sort of just leave them alone when they show up
âI guess everyoneâs forgetting how Kamalaââ
nobody forgot shit! we have bigger problems! the only alternative to Kamala is a man who wants to wage war on every minority in America. A man who wants to push us further into full on fascism. any âbut that one time Kamalaâ talk benefits only one person right now and thatâs Donald Trump. do your part by keeping that shit to yourself! nobody fucking asked and whatever youâre bringing up isnât more important than queer peopleâs lives â which ARE at stake. just shut the fuck up and vote, republicans are counting on infighting among the left, so just put it aside. It can wait, I promise.
