I feel like wanting things has been important to being happier for me
A spooky and snakey little short I've been working on! š§” Happy Halloween!
my hot art take is that there's no objectively being a "better artist" than any other artist.
to elaborate, there's so many parts that make up art. which medium you're using, the shape language, how you use colors, linework, expressiveness, style, ect. ect...
it always frustrates me a little to hear someone claim that "[x artist] is better than [other artist]" or they themselves are better/worse than [other artist] because it's just... not true? i'm *not* saying people who make these claims have bad art, (or they aren't often coming from a place of insecurity, which, understandable š¤, godspeed on finding your confidence it's an uphill battle,) but i've seen so many artists out there who are just starting out that have a WAY firmer grasp on color theory than me, or who texture their work in a way that's nice on the eyes, or who just have a fascinating style that i can't help but be intrigued by. when people say things like "oh you're so much better at art than i am" i wanna shake them cause that's not true!! i probably envy your ideas or crisp lines or the way you draw eyes!! there's always something to love in a creation made with your heart and hands. it's unique to you and you're so skilled at making it your way!
i'm kind of getting rambly now, but. i think it's just cool that there's always something to learn with art. i think the fact that even though i've known i've wanted this to be my job for like 14+ years now, i'm CONSTANTLY inspired by budding artists who started so recently and are already so talented in all their own ways.
Possible redesigns of the guards!
Since they haven't done much in the past hundred years, im guessing they're pretty dusty in the creaks, poor Y/n has to deal with two large cats who see y/n as a toy
A comic (?) about my love of weird little bats for this halloween
