I will say I have a criticism with how streaming and dvd releases portray the Melancholy of Haruhi show in that the show did NOT originally air in chronological order. You would get an alternating pattern of something early in the timeline and then something late in the timeline, and the reason was to build up tension for a really big event that happens in the middle of the timeline. Modern releases of the show instead put the show in chronological order which imo deflates all the tension it tries to build, because the big mystery is solved and you still have tons of episodes left. If you wanna get into Haruhi please watch it in its original release order its so much better
