Lotus Hanahaki Disease

For those who don’t know, in my AU (while I do ship Guiding and Curious together), Curious’ feelings go unrequited for a really really long time since Guiding has very strong opinions on the Architects and having relationships. (that being they’re nothing but a distraction from their purpose)

Sooooo, I had a thought. If Curious had hanahaki disease he would totally cough up lotus flowers right? So I made this for funsies (non canon ofc)

Ignore how messy it is, this was originally just meant to be a sketch lmaoo

Fun fact, their tips of their wisps curl when they’re happy

In my story, the lights each have the ability to create both living and non living things, but they each specialise in different fields.

Guiding makes structures and land like the Hotel and the Mines

Red Light makes living beings, that being the entities

And Curious does a mix of both, specialising in plant life (making the outdoors), as well as trying and mostly failing to make living beings

Curious has tried many times to make entities in the past, trying to build off Red Light’s creations, but nothing seemed to work. (Thus accidentally creating the glitched entities), eventually he tried to do his own thing and successfully made Timothy, his pride and joy.

Just a little design detail I like

Honestly just gave Tourist the moon brooch just as a reference to guiding and now it became its own little thing which I think is neat

The brooch is a physical piece of Guiding Light, but a very small piece. It isn’t strong enough to crucify anything, but just enough that Guiding can send through emergency signals if necessary

It feels kinda strange drawing these two together lmaoo

I don’t know how consistent I’ll be as I tend to post when and if I draw, but now that I’ve starting posting them I expect to do more in future, not only of ship stuff but general architect art and the lore I’ve built around these characters (cause MAN I’ve busy this past year)

Like we haven’t even scratched the surface yet, I have so much to yap about

But for now I’ll just post the sillies (totally not because I haven’t designed an outfit for red light yet lmaooo)

My Guiding and Curious designs ✨ (sort of)

Y’know I’ve been putting this off for the longest time, but I’m finally posting them (kind of) Still tweaking their reference sheets here and there. These character designs have been in the works for over a year now and I’m still not done :’)

Anyways, these are a little bit of my designs! I know a lot of people tend to lean towards either the object/symbol head or human design, but I wanted them to be a bit more expressive while maintaining that feeling of them not being human (plus I like their wisps I think it’s fun, they’re like fire elementals but made of light)

Honestly these designs and the characters I’ve built up around them go so so SO much further than just doors lore (that’s a yap sesh for another day)

And yeah I did head cannon Guiding (and Curious) to present male (I imagine all the lights to be gender neutral but present in the ways I’d imagined) I think me headcannoning Guiding as male was why I was nervous to post stuff since she’s now confirmed female (IVE BEEN HEADCANNONING HIM MALE SINCE THE START MANN)

Honestly with how much I’ve rewritten and expanded upon these characters it doesn’t feel as weird to me to think of them as two entirely different characters

Also yes, I ship Guiding and Curious (although it is a MEGA slow burn in my head Guiding is not good with emotions LMAOO)

(Honestly praying a future doors update doesn’t ruin this for me, I know some people head cannon them to be siblings but I just don’t see the lights that way)

Still toying with the idea of Tourist having hair. In my story he’s been stuck in the hotel for a VERY long time and I think the messy unkempt hair shows that well.

Still mourning the loss of bald tourist. Honestly I might go back to the bald for the next one, dunno yet.

Edit: yeah the hair looks uncanny looking back on it now we goin’ bald again
