After over 10 years in a kitchen, this month I took a step back to re-evaluate what makes me happy. I have been burnt out for awhile, seeking something different but not quite sure what. I accepted a position with Modernist Cuisine as their culinary admin/office manager/kitchen organizer/PA to the head chef. I am still around food ALL the time, I just support it in a different capacity. Very excited for this opportunity and all I can learn from it. Last night in a fluke accident I broke a "dinner plate" that belonged to my sweet baby Pearl. My first adopted kitty who lasted no longer than 7 months due to the many ailments she had been born with. Seeing the broken plate on the ground brought me to tears, something that surprised me as it has been almost 5 years since she passed. Healing has no end point, and that is ok. #rupikaur
