What are you talking about? It was Alpha-17 that taught Fox to swear in the first place! Fox is only carrying on the tradition with baby Rex. Alpha-17 is standing in the background pretending he isn't stupidly proud.

Ooh. I'd love to know the story of this context.

Considering in the Star Wars Battle Adventures #19, meaning one of the canon comics, Rex befriends a turncoat B1 without second thought and even holds General Kenobi to account enough that the two mount a rescue of him! He is brought with the Republic. Sadly, we don't know what happens to him afterwards. But he was clearly befriended by Obi-Wan and Rex.

I love him. His information:

Bats is one of my favorite Rex side stories because it shows his capacity for forgiveness, true to the overarching themes of Star Wars about redemption and forgiveness. It just shows how 1.) golden-hearted Rex is. 2.) Further enforces the repeated arguments that Jango Fett's Clones, including his "perfect copy", were inherently good men and Fett was the aberration.

B1-0516, nicknamed Bats, was a B1-series battle droid in the droid army of the Confederacy of Independent Systems. During the Clone Wars, B1-0516 fought in a battle against the Galactic Republic on Horain, where his processor was short-circuited by a stray blaster bolt. The damage caused B1-0516 to fight with the Republic army, and assisted General Obi-Wan Kenobi and Captain Rex, who gave the battle droid the nickname "Bats" for easier pronunciation.
