Family HC: The Loupés.
Sasha LoupĂ©: Age 19 Christof LoupĂ©: Age 47 (deceased) Caleb Foster: Age 24Â
âLong time as in months? Or long time as in centuries? You can never tell whoâs immortal these days.â There didnât seem to be anything notable about everyoneâs new home, besides the lack of any real authority by anyone. âWhat exactly were you looking for?â
âI believe my mortality is private, thank you very much.â For a moment, something heinous and dark flashed in his gaze, yet he played it off as an itch of his nose before it could go noticed, hopefully enough. âA community like this, if that answers your inquisition steadily enough.â
Zevi wished he had the bravery of Haylee or the peace of his mother, but he had neither and there wasnât a way heâd found yet to fake it. So he stood completely frozen in the shadow of the huge man shaking. âBut you⊠you donât even know me. W..why would you come see me?â âTo kill you for the fun of it you idiotâ The mean voice in his head taunted. âJust want shaan*, please.âÂ
âI hear itâs quite the place. And,â he smirked, picking a faux piece of lint of the wolfâs shoulder just to amplify his intimidation, âwith a nice gent like you employed there, it must be worth my time.â With that, and a toss of a bill upon the bar, Sampson stood from the stool and offered one last smirk to the boy before making his leave. âIâll see you around.â
âItâs nice to meet you, Sampson.â
âYou donât, but you seem  a bit suspicious. Not in the horrible way, but I say whatâs on my mind. Iâm pretty direct. Thereâs plenty of interesting people here, Sampson. You were drown to the right place. Is there someone youâre looking for in particular?â
âSuspicious? What endows that idea into your pretty little head? And I would assume so, thatâs why Iâve come. Iâm not sure, to be perfectly honest. I just havenât met them yet.â
âYou got it man.â
âTo New Orleans? No. I just moved here. What about you?â
âAh, I see. I was hoping to ask if you knew of any book stores here. Just here on some business.â
Vera nervously chewed on her bottom lip. She knew people thought her way of communicating was a bitâŠinvasive, but this method was a hell of a lot quicker than her speaking. Pulling on her sleeve to cover her hands, the smaller woman let out a poor excuse for a laugh in hopes of making the situation lighter. Youâre right, and Iâm sorry.. It would of taken much longer to ask for permission. Her voice echoed in his head, as she grimaced at the truth of her words. At least she wasnât listening to his thoughts. Vera straightened up and cleared her throat. ââUhâŠI ca..n, I-I can st-sto..p?âÂ
Sampsonâs brow remained cocked as the timid young woman spoke in his head once again, the versatile hunter becoming used to it. He remained calm, cool, and collected at the mere thought of her reading his thoughts and his motives. Sampson liked to think of himself as a problem solver -- heâd go to great lengths to eradicate such a problem. Though, when he realized why it was the special human had to, he simply shrugged it off and took another swig of his drink. âAs long as you donât find yourself divulged in this head of mine, be my guest. Interesting party trick, I must say.â
âWell⊠I could be wrong, but I believe thatâs the point. You know⊠New Orleans and all. Thatâs like going to Vegas and saying you should gamble, as though itâs not already a given.â
âAnd where do you suggest I find the âfunâ? I donât believe I am the type to enjoy Bourbon Street as much as the rest of the world.â
Lenora didnât notice the predatory look in the manâs eye, her welcoming smile never wavering from her face. âGreat. Thank you, it was all Se- the previous owner, I mean. But Brianna and I have tried to make it as great as he did.â She smiled, sliding down to sit net to him. âCan I get you anything? Water, tea, coffee..?â She offered, sitting bac in her chair. âYes, absolutely. We can set you up in one of our suites.â
âWell, the both you have done quite the job.â Brianna, that was another person to watch out for in the handful of targets Sampson had in mind. The massive man straightened out his tie and gave no impression other than one of a business man, his theatrical nature making this one of the most enjoyable parts of his hunt. âCoffee, if youâre offering. It was a long trip from Seattle.â Taking out his briefcase, he took the business models that were on the man that he murdered out and laid them across the table. âYour hospitality is very much appreciated, Ms. Darling. By the end of my stay and the deal Iâll be implementing, Iâm sure weâll be great friends.â Sampson grinned, a charming, boyish smile, before leaning back in his own seat.
âOnly the cruelest hunters set their traps with terror and trepidation.Â
I am the predator.Â
                        You have always been the p r e y.â
âLikewise, Mr. Caine.â Lenora stood, smoothing over the creases in her skirt as she made her way over to him, offering him a hand. âOf course, come in. Did you find the place alright?â
Sampson shook her hand, eyes running over every detail of the infamous Lenora in only half a second. The man he had investigate his targets before his arrival gave him the descriptions, history, and biographies of those he needed, Lenora being at the top of the list. âJust fine. What a gorgeous hotel youâve got here.â Implementing his favourite boyish grin, Sampson moved to sit down for their meeting. âSo, Iâll be spending a little while here with you in this hotel, just to identify what strength of security purposes need to be put where. That is the plan, now isnât it?â
âItâs a pleasure to finally make your acquaintance, Ms. Darling. Iâm Sam Caine from Magnum Protective Services. May I come in?â
âEh, Iâm just a realist.â She lifted her shoulder in a shrug, shaking off the notion that she was melancholic at all. âNew Orleans is just another dot on the map. Nothing special, you know?â
âAhh, if you say so.â Stroking the course hair of his jaw, the demon felt a chuckle without mirth bubble in his chest. âNot to me. It has something that Iâve spent a long time looking for.â
âJust an observation, you obviously have a lot to be proud of. I doubt that, darling. Iâm surprised you couldnât sense it.â
âHm, you do have a good point. You would certainly lose your air of mystery if you told me.â
âWho says I couldnât?â
âIt certainly would. Itâs much more exciting to figure it out on your own, wouldnât it?â
