James stans: Snape is evil because he called Lily a Mudblood when he was sixteen!
James: *Bullied and hexed students “because he can”, used an illegal hex on a student, roamed around with a Dark Creature and endangered Villagers’ lives and laughed about the “near misses” afterwards, relentlessly bullied Severus, mocked his “friends”, patronised (and made fun of) Peter, publicly humiliated Severus, sexually harassed him, choked him with soap, tortured him, never stopped bullying him, and only got better at hiding it when he was sixteen.*
James stans: He changed!
According to Porker stans, if you change, then your terrible doings are completely erased.
Well, let’s take a look at this:
And now Snape stood again in the Headmaster’s study as Phineas Nigellus came hurrying into his portrait.
“Headmaster! They are camping in the Forest of Dean! The Mudblood –“
“Do not use that word!”
Severus ACTUALLY changed. By your logic, Severus calling Lily a Mudblood is completely erased because he changed later on.
This-
Oh lord
What is wrong with people on TikTok
Someone told me that James died while doing Smth heroic and Snape didn’t. And when I say that saving the entire Wizarding World is literally Snape’s redemption they say that Dumblerdore died saving the Wizarding world but Snape only did it bc it was Dumbledore’s plan. So I guess that every soldier in every war weren’t really heroic bc it wasn’t their original Plan? Wtf
I saw another TikTok where a girl is saying that Dumbledore is the true vilain of the story and that it is his fault Tonks, Collin Crevey etc died. The man is already dead but he could at least come back from the dead and prevent the war, what a nerve Albus!
Really where does that come from? Does TikTok ruin’s people’s brain?
What’s your Snape’s playlist hc? I’m making a Snape playlist :))
Severus died believing his truth will be buried with Harry Potter. He died believing the world will never know about his sacrifices & he will always remain the man who killed Albus Dumbledore. Yet people question his bravery & selflessness. His character growth >>>>>
Where tf to they get their informations lmao
As if there wasn’t a community praising some group of character claiming Jk Rowling did they dirty when that suits them
No one can convince me Snape was not self medicating and addicted to at least one of the medications.
Sure, we don't have the info to know if ones body can become dependent on potions and if some wizards who have been taking them for a long time experience withdrawal, but there is a mental component to addiction.
I'd be surprised if Snape could fall asleep without any medication. He'd definitely take a sedative. Whether the in-universe substance would be draught of dreamless sleep or draught of peace, I don't know. But if he were a muggle character, I would find it perfectly believable if he had started taking benzos to help him fall asleep and gotten hooked on them because he doesn't feel like himself off them.
So he'd take a sedative at least. But he had a stressful job (well, two stressful jobs) that required him to stay alert. It would make sense if he eventually started taking stimulants to offset the effect of sedatives when needed.
Anyone have any thoughts?
I already hc Snape as having substance abuse problems... so~
there's so much in my head about this - sleeping potions, plain old alcohol for forgetting reality for a bit,... not really thought through yet, though. I go along as I'm writing my ff...
I like the concept of Severus coming to abuse substance just so he will alter his perception of reality to just stop thinking and hurting. Bonus if his brain is damaged.
Plus the guys is a genius in potions,I personally hc that he invented some sort of drug himself
Snape was once named the Most Eligible Bachelor in Wizarding Britain by the Daily Prophet but it was never mentioned in the books because it wasn’t relevant to Harry’s story
Kingsley Shacklebolt came second. It made one hell of an awkward Order meeting
This is canon.
I can’t decide if I picture Book Snape as Adam Driver or as Adrien Brody
Ok I’ve decided. Adam.
I can’t decide if I picture Book Snape as Adam Driver or as Adrien Brody
Where does the « Regulus was abused and forced into being a deatheater » comes from???
Like it’s WRITTEN that he is a Voldemort’s admirer, wtf
Have snater even read the books?
FUCK HP TIKTOK
I just saw another stupid snater TikTok and someone commented they liked Snape... another person just told them « it’s a mental illness »
Wtf??? It’s so disrespectful, violent and dumb and.., I don’t even find the words.
Mental illness is an ISSUE. It’s hurting people. AND YOU USE THAT AS AN INSULT FOR SOMEONE WHO JUST HAPPEN TO LIKE A FICTIONAL CHARACTER ?! Who tf do you think you are?
I’m sorry I get bitter and violent but i’m so fill with rage rn
I know I sound stupid and people probably won’t see that post but like... I’m tired of people lol
Why snaters keep telling that Snape joined a « terrorist group » because Lily rejected him?
Do they know how to read between the line? Or are they as bad at it as J*mes P*tter?
Do they even know how to read?
Hot take : Sirius Black was WAY more obsessed with James Potter than Severus Snape ever was with Lily Evans
Also Sirius Black is the one who compared Harry to James so much he called him by the wrong name. Snape compared him to James but never actually believed he was or tried to force him to be.
Also asking Harry to be like James, to emulate him—and if he doesn’t Sirius becomes cold and freaking mean—him who wanted Harry to fail his trial so he’s be stuck alone with Sirius at Grimmauld Place... now that’s creepy material.
OK, YES, I somewhat agree with these, but before we make it too weird - whatever Sirius’s other faults might have been, he was in a state of arrested development compounded by probably more than a little trauma from being in Azkaban for twelve years. Like, is it fucked he couldn’t fully differentiate between James and Harry a good chunk of the time? Absolutely. But this sounds like it’s being framed as a terrible personality flaw when it read, at least to me, more like mental illness brought on by trauma.
Not saying Sirius was a Best Boy or even worthy of Who’s A Good Pupper or anything because when you take out Harry’s hero-worship filter (that probably stemmed more from desperation to get away from the Dursleys and have a connection with someone who knew his parents, which - devastating, tbh. Harry deserved therapy), Sirius Black is definitely an impulsive jerk even as an adult that relies on being charming and attractive to mask it. It’s just that when it comes to him and his behavior toward Harry, it feels more like untreated trauma and reducing that to simply being “creepy” just...doesn’t sit well, I guess.
Of course not! That’s not what I meant, but I understand how it could be interprated. My point was only to show how the argument of « SnApE iS OBsSESsed » is stupid because if you really want to talk about obsession, there are other characters that could be (not totally wrongly for Sirius imo but still) depicted as obsessive :))
Hot take : Sirius Black was WAY more obsessed with James Potter than Severus Snape ever was with Lily Evans
Ok so it’s ugly and not proportionated and stuff, and i’m doing this shit instead of stydying but like who needs a degree anyway (lol)
I don’t understand why people are such fans of Regulus... I mean there are barely 10 sentences about him in the books and he has a whole fandom saying he is the true Slytherin Hero blah blah
I genuinely don’t understand
