Here it is. The Suicide Squad Box.
Katana! She’s one the shirt, she’s on the badge. I really like her character so I’m glad she didn’t take a backseat.
Suicide Squad #1. It’s a copy of the first issue of how we know the Suicide Squad today. It’s pretty cool.
The Joker. I know people love him but I’m not in that majority of people. I hate clowns and this extends to him (this isn’t anything I haven’t said before). I knew he’d be in the box in some capacity so I expected it but they included a sheet that shows how the items in the box was made and there is one t-shirt design I liked so much better. It’s similar to what’s on the shirt but instead of the title in the back ground there was a large Joker and then Katana in front with Inferno (is that his name?) taking her place. He’s supposed not part of the movie’s Suicide Squad so why is he front and center on the shirt as if he was?
I don’t really dislike the Enchantress Pop but I would never have bought it from the store. Honestly I don’t even really know much about the Enchantress and am looking forward to finding out in the movie who she is.
Next month is Women of DC. I’m a little worried there will be a lot of Harley Quinn in it. Don’t get me wrong, I actually do like Harley. But we got plenty of her in this box and with DC Legion of Collector boxes I’d like to get more unique and diverse characters than the most well known characters. I mean I can just go get those guys in the store. Ya know.
Halfway through the first year of this and I have to say, I’m pretty happy over all with them. I know since it’s just starting that they would be parading out DC’s most well known characters and I’m fine with that. I’m actually pretty pleased with how much they’ve given us of the non “DC A-team”. The Atom pin and the Katana patch, I would like to see interesting themes emerge like a Justice League Detroit themed box or a Darkest Night/Brightest Day box. Just so next year we’re not getting our 3rd DC TV Shows box.
