People who collect pokemon just to fill out a dex and then abandon them YES im upset about this
I don't really have much of a plan for this blog, but i hope to have fun with it! :D
Anyone can feel free to put something in my inbox or comment or whatever and ill try and get to you ASAP! Id love to interact :3
ONLY time ill do OOC: HELLO! This is my side blog i made for funsies because i really love pokemon IRL because i love the worldbuilding and biology and, well, pokemon! My main is @jingleeljester so if you see that account interact with you, thats also me :3
I dont have any rules really, just be respectful (being silly and joking is fine, however!) and keep in mind that while Cal is an adult, I am myself a minor! Also, i dont do any peliper asks, as ive seen them called, and also no stakes asks, preferably! i think they sorta take out the immersion imo so id rather not have them, thank you! (musharna mail is fine, however)
(I may update this portion from time to time if i have anything to say, but it probably wont be anythin super important lol)
(......if youre curious, my favorite pokemon arent actually Toxicroak and Unfezant; however, i am a big unfezant fan and i do like toxicroak!)
So update on the egg. It’s borderline ready to hatch. I’ve had Scramble sitting on it for a while to incubate (good thing it’s spring lol so they have no underbelly feathers atm). From what I’ve gathered, it’s a snivy egg!
HOW did a snivy egg end up in my yard?? I have no clue. There are a few egg eating Pokémon around, so maybe it was from that? Though there are no known wild serperior nests around.. any wear…… not in unova anywhere, for that matter………..
i would have called up a local professor, though i know they’d have just told me to either dispose of it or give it to them to take care of. I didn’t like either idea, particularly. And i don’t wanna hatch some snivy and release it into the wild either. When snivy are first born, they are self sufficient within a day or so. They’re a lot like an ekans in a way lol. And i didn’t wanna risk some invasive species being introduced to my back yard, or let the thing get picked off by a passerby.
AND SO: I’ve decided to just raise the little dude for myself! Maybe if im lucky I’ll get a trainer to pass by and take it off of my hands, but that’s only a small window. I hate the idea of having a pole on bond for a while and then trading it off..
thinking about this one time some random young trainer came in with her Venipede to my front door IN THE RAIN asking if i had any revives on hand because her only pokemon (venipede) was knicked out and she didn't wanna make a run to the center (town over) in the rain.
Like of course i let her in andgot her pokemon healed and even made her dinner but its just so crazy to me that this still happens!! Thank arceus that she came to ME too, because im sure plenty of other people wouldn't have done the same.
Call me crazy but A: I think medical supplies for pokemon shouldnt be this expensive, revives included. I don't care how expensive it is to produce them, they can save trainers and pokemon's lives! These sort of things shouldnt have to happen! and B: there should be a more accessable way to heal pokemon while on the go. So many centers are only in cities, but- at least in Unova- theres SO much region that isnt town or city! There are plenty of big caves or mountains or forests that young trainers have to get through every day! Going that long, espicially for newly starting trainers, is super dangerous! There should at least be some form of network that allows for pit stops of some kind. maybe nurse stands or voluneer groups. Something!
What Pokémon do you see most around your area? I (also from Unova) find myself seeing a lot of Pidove and Dwebble.

well, around my HOUSE, its very common to see jigglypuff and golduck around. There’s a ton of rivers and cliff sides where i am so it makes sense golduck would make some nests there! There’s also plenty of high trees or mountains for jogglypuff to jump off of to get some wind and go airborne, so im jot surprised about that either.
less common, but if im lucky i can see a driftblim or alteria in the sky…. Super cool.. (plus, some alteria actually nest up in some mountains around where i live, so if im lucky and got a pair of binoculars, i can watch them!!)
I’ve got a couple herds of tropius that hang around a little further from me as well. They’re pretty friendly and sometimes let me get berries off of them lol
like i said the other day, there’s also a good population of Beheeyem that roam around my house. They’re not super common, plus they’re sorta skittish, but if im far enough away they’ll come out from hiding and i can watch them
I know you're in unova, but have you had the chance to experience wooloo wool? It's quite thick, great for hiking colder regions
YES!!! Ive had the pleasure of some being gifted to me from some family who lives in galar! I have an amazin gpair of gloves made out of it! theyve lasted me years! great for mountain hiking and such! while id be willing to say that i like the texture of cottonee fluff a bit more, wooloo wool has to be some of the highest quality stuff i could have!
What's something interesting you've learned in school recently?
recently, weve been on the topic of pokemon farming/cultivation and how they can be affected by it! Learned that cottonee farming is pretty common in some parts of unova (as most of us unovans know), but also that surrounding areas of cottonee (and the occasional whimsicott but thats less common) farming tend to affect the surrounding areas due to their excessive cotton production! Because they so easily scare and, as we know, lose cotton when they get scared, such large groups of cottonee stuck in one place can lead to clogged waterways or stuffy noses. A way to do this more safely and effectivly is being developed!
yeah they get along great! I dont think id have scramble around if they didnt lol because the poor guy would have been driven out by payapa then
the two of them work together really well, honestly! I let the 2 free roam around my house sometimes (i live alone around rout 14 so no ones around really) and when they do, scramble likes to play lookout while payapa likes to collect things off the ground that scramble spots. very cute to see :3
(i NEVER let them get into any physical fight, either! Payapa is on the stronger side, and she also has the type advantage over scramble. I'd hate to have to make a center trip because scramble got poisoned :/ thats very dangerous!)
Well! not to #ruinthemood but when I was younger, like i believe i stated somewear before, i was never really around my parents much? plus, since i spent all my time alone in the out doors, i never really made many friends of any kind either (was never really interested in it + people are scary). However, because of that, i grew VERY familiar and fond of the forrests around where i grew up in and such. I'd pick up after people and make sure the pokemon were all taken care of when i wasn't off exploring and observing pokemon in their natural habitats!
basically, pokemon and their worlds were my family before anyone else was, and because of that, i love them very dearly! I couldnt imagine studying anything else!
Why is your online nickname "Calcium"? Unless your parents actually named you Calcium, in which case, yikes
HA! ACTUALLY! I named MYSELF that! #sylveon
I really like chemistry and also the nickname Cal so i figured, why not you know. Its funny, espicialy when people ask for my name, expecting something like Callum, and instead get Calcium. Its always funny
Hi!! Do you have a favourite or least favourite pokémon type, and why?
hello!!! Its REALLY hard to say if i have a favorite!! All types are really different, and the pokemon that correspond to those types are usuall also very unique individuals as well, so even within a type there can be a lot of variation!
ok but if you want my real answer its bug types i love bug types. I'm a pretty big fan of ALL pokemon. and i dont really think bug types are better or anything, ive just always lived around bug types. Also, theyre a really underappreciated group! Bug types are GREAT for the environment, and an environment with a ton of bug types is probably very healthy (unless its an invasive species of sorts, but thats an exception)! Plus, since most bug types have very unique shells, i think theyre very pretty :3
flying types and grass types are also pretty high on the list of favorite types. Maybe its just because those are the types (including bug type) that ive grown up around, but i love them so much!
seriously though, i DONT have a LEAST favorite type of pokemon, mainly for th reason at the very top, but also just because i love al pokemon in GENERAL, so its hard for me to have a least favorite, you know?
