Guys, I'm screaming right now. The new minstrel I just hired (the one my therapist recommended I get to help my stress) just killed a rival gang leader. Just popped him in the head with a 22 mid monologue. Minstrel boy gave me the credit of course, but my lieutenants have started calling him boss. Now everyone in the organization knows about it and I'm worried he's going to try to take over. I'm already stressed over the dramatic prophecy about the chosen one who will overthrow me. I don't need more problems in my life. At least I don't need to worry about the other gang anymore.

So I thought that letting him marry my daughter would keep him from turning him against me, but now everyone thinks he's going to inherit the organization, even though I already have an heir. And my son doesn't even have the decency to be upset about this. In fact I think my son loves that darned minstrel boy more than my daughter (his wife) does. Anyways I'm going to send him on an impossible mission and hope that kills him.

LITRPG authors justifying their world building be like:

The system knows where the user is at all times. It knows this because it knows where they aren't. By subtracting where they are from where they aren't, or where they aren't from where they are (whichever is greater), it obtains a difference, or deviation. The guidance subsystem uses deviations to generate corrective commands to drive the user from a position where they are to a position where they aren't, and arriving at a position where they aren't, they now are. Consequently, the position where they are, is now the position that they weren't, and it follows that the position that they were, is now the position that they aren't.

In the event that the position that they are in is not the position that they weren't, the system has acquired a variation, the variation being the difference between where the user is, and where they weren't. If variation is considered to be a significant factor, it too may be corrected by the GEA. However, the user must also know where they were.

The user guidance system scenario works as follows. Because a variation has modified some of the information the user has obtained, they are not sure just where they are. However, they are sure where they aren't, within reason, and they know where they were. It now subtracts where they should be from where they weren't, or vice-versa, and by differentiating this from the algebraic sum of where they shouldn't be, and where they were, it is able to obtain the deviation and its variation, which is called error.

People who oppose nuclear power for safety reasons usually have a fundamental misunderstanding of the sheer difference in scale between a nuclear weapon and a nuclear power plant disaster. In the history of the human race, one singular nuclear power plant has ever exploded, and it wasn't enough to knock down the building. The Chernobyl nuclear power plant is still standing, and the remaining 3 reactors continued operating for decades afterwards. Hiroshima lost all of its buildings. I know you're going to point out the Genbaku Dome. Sure, the walls still work, but the dome is stripped down to steel supports, and most of the building is without a roof. Saying nuclear power is dangerous because nukes, is like saying internal combustion engines are dangerous because napalm, or light bulbs are dangerous because lightning. It obscures the actual safety concerns and solutions with sensationalised hyperbole.

The *thing* about "biblically accurate angels" is that most of the angels in the Bible never get a physical description. Every time I can recall that an angel comes to earth, whoever wrote about it ignores their appearance entirely and writes about what they did. (eg, Gabriel appears to Mary, Elisha is protected by angelic Cavalry, Daniel is saved from lions, Jacob/Israel gets his hip dislocated, etc.) The weird, almost eldritch angels are, as far as I can tell, the exclusive domain of dreams and visions. (eg, Zechariah sees a 30 ft/10 m long flying roll, Ezekiel sees creatures and wheels with faces, John sees... It would be easier to list the stuff John doesn't see, etc.) All of this to say, there is probably weird stuff in heaven, but if God needed you to see an angel tomorrow, it would probably look like *a guy,* and unless you're going to meet Elohim in person, you likely won't see the weird stuff.

So, like, for millenia, alchemists have been looking for a universal solvent. Some chemical that can dissolve any other chemical, and it turns out that, like, the best option we've got is water. There's still some stuff that doesn't dissolve in water, mostly oils and a few particularly sturdy ionic compounds, but, if we mix an oil based solvent with water we could, hypothetically make an extra universaler solvent. Now water and oil don't typically mix well so we would need some kind of emulsifier to mix them at a microscopic, if not molecular, level. That's mayonaise. Mayonaise is the universal solvent. I don't want to hear people ask if mayonaise is an instrument anymore. It's a reagent. That's why the alchemy jug in D&D can make 2 gallons of mayonaise a day.
