i genuinely don't understand what happened to people. everywhere you look, the things that are popular now just seem so empty and disgusting. everyone is obsessed with drama, attention, and doing whatever gets the most reactions. nothing feels real anymore. people will sacrifice their dignity, their privacy, and even basic decency just to get a few seconds of attention from strangers they'll never meet.

it's like being shameless became something to celebrate. being loud, vulgar, and controversial is somehow seen as entertaining. every week there's some new trend that makes you question whether people have completely lost their standards. nobody seems embarrassed anymore. nobody seems capable of saying, "maybe this is too much."

and the worst part is how quickly everyone follows along. people complain about society and then contribute to the exact things they claim to hate. individuality barely exists. everyone just copies each other, chasing the next trend like mindless drones, terrified of being left behind.

everything feels so shallow. genuine talent gets ignored while the most ridiculous things imaginable become famous overnight. attention spans are destroyed, morals are treated like jokes, and people act like criticism automatically makes you a hater. apparently having standards is controversial now.

maybe i'm just tired. maybe i'm tired of seeing everything reduced to outrage, cheap entertainment, and endless attempts to go viral. because honestly, sometimes it feels like people aren't interested in creating anything meaningful anymore. they just want attention, and they'll roll around in the mud to get it.

and somehow we're supposed to pretend this is progress.

i'm honestly sick of trying to make friends. every time i put effort into getting to know people, it just ends up feeling pointless. everyone talks about loyalty and being there for each other, but most people only care when it's convenient for them. the second they find someone more interesting or something better to do, you're forgotten.

people are exhausting. they'll smile in your face and talk about you behind your back. they'll say they care, then disappear when you actually need them. nobody wants something genuine anymore. everything feels temporary. everyone is just chasing attention, popularity, or whatever gives them validation for five minutes.

maybe expecting too much from people was my mistake. maybe I should've realized sooner that most people aren't nearly as kind or sincere as they pretend to be. everyone has something to say about honesty, but nobody actually practices it. everyone wants understanding, but nobody wants to understand anyone else.

at some point, you stop being surprised. you stop expecting things to be different. you stop believing that if you just try harder, you'll eventually find your people. because after enough disappointment, enough feeling left out, and enough watching people show their true colors, you start to wonder if loneliness is just easier.

maybe it is.

because if this is what people are like, then maybe being alone isn't the worst thing in the world. maybe the real mistake was believing that most people were worth trusting in the first place.

they will lose interest eventually. i know they will. their affections are fleeting, their devotion shallow. sooner or later, they will abandon him and move on to some new fascination, just as they always do. they are temporary. i am not.

perhaps i should not concern myself with them. perhaps i should not resent them so deeply. after all, no one could possibly understand him as intimately, cherish him as faithfully, or remain as unwaveringly devoted as i do. in that regard, there is no comparison to be made. there never was.
