Akiko's Quite Happiness is a story about love, loss, the unlocked cages of captivity that we refuse to leave, and the courage it takes to go out into the wilderness. Despite the howling animals at night and the dangers that may lie ahead, we go forth. Isn't it better to feel rain weighting down our wings just for a chance to see the sunny sky? What if we escaped the mold that melts the 'unnecessary' pieces of our spirit clean off. What if these 'unnecessary' pieces give us the breath of fresh air needed to whistle back to us morning birds. And what if we are the ones pressing the mold onto ourselves. Akiko asks these questions. But more importantly, recognizes the importance of trusting the 'what ifs'; not scared of what could go wrong. Instead, look at the vast array of possibilities the lie ahead. The good and the bad. The grief and the loss. The life and the love.
