sorry buddy you can stay
can we talk about the score of this movie? PLs?
aside from Daniel Pemberton being the absolute madman with the work he done, there's something so wonderful about the stark contrast between earth/flashback scenes and the Rocky ones.
All of Grace flashbacks have either a bittersweet, nostalgic sound, with added human choir, or a more percussion-based one for when he's studying the Astrophage. There's a specific leitmotif associated to humanity, although is exclusively in its minor version EXCEPT in the "goodbye my friend" track.
The moment we actually have a sense of wonder is when Grace sees with the scope the Blip-A in the "Petrova Line" track.
"Centrifuge" is the first "space-related- track that actually gives you a sense of whimsy and joy and wonder, probably because it's first of all, cool as hell, but also a sense of control for Grace in his new environment.
THEN in "The Message" we can hear Rocky different leitmotifs even before we met him. From then on, the movie OST becomes so, so much more musical, which makes sense, Eridians are all about Harmonies!
And I don't know I just think it's neat seeing so much differences between how Grace memories of Earth sounds compared to the silly happy sounds full of hope we hear in the present with Rocky
ALSO! Rocky theme and humanity theme are basically almost the same but reversed!
Intimacy is cool and all but have you ever gotten full body goosebumps from a song
Watched a movie that made me dissociate like hell, time to think about fucking spaceships to feel better
I love how we've all decided Sol and Kal definitely travel through space together all the time and have wild kinky sex when in canon that spacesuit spaceship hybrid system is DEAD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Absolute Superman fandom grab your spacesuits
You guys remember that one inflatable latex ball trap in the Incredibles? Yeah me too
Idk Kal gets caught in a trap or smth and Sol's like hang on I can work with this,
I feel bad for people who don’t experience frisson. Like how do you… feel the music. How do you experience the music beyond taking it in through your ears?
Kal-El Captured
greatful that i dont have a penis because if i had one id get hard everytime i hear music i think sounds pretty and then everyone wouldl.laugh at me .
Anyway if I could make out sloppy style with the key of E minor I would
Being in love with the key of E minor and playing in an orchestra is such an interesting experience. You’d think the intimacy of playing the piece and everything that comes with it is enough but it’s really not
the world is so cruel. why cant i have sex with songs.
i'm just saying man
"there's nothing wrong with being effeminate." of course. and do you feel happy with how you look?
"i worry people would feel unsafe around me." do you feel safe around you?
"it would be hard for other people to adjust." and you think it'd be easier to suffer quietly?
"he/they is fine. i really prefer he/him, but i have to make it easier on other people." so you want to let other people decide your gender? again?
"if i'm going to be a man, i owe it to other people to be as soft, friendly, and nonthreatening as possible."
No. You don't.
