First of all, what are archetypes anyway? Archetypes are universal patterns of behavior, images, and symbols found in the collective unconscious of humanity. The concept was developed by psychologist Carl Jung.
Archetypes represent models of personas and situations that appear in myths, stories, and cultures around the world. These universal patterns reflect fundamental aspects of human experience, such as desires, fears, and aspirations. They are rooted in the deepest human experiences and manifest themselves repeatedly, shaping our perception and interpretation of the world around us. They help explain why certain stories and characters resonate so deeply across different cultures and times.
In tarot, they are represented by the Major Arcana cards. They reflect aspects of the psyche and the individual journey, offering insights into self-knowledge and personal development. Each Tarot card, with its images and symbols, evokes a specific archetype, allowing the practitioner to explore their own issues and challenges.
Now let's get down to business: how to activate an archetype. (This is MY personal opinion. If you disagree with what I say here, just ignore it and don't take it on board.)
The vast majority of people talk about “activating” the archetype, and I won't lie, I used to use that term myself. But after doing some research, I came to the conclusion that we actually INTEGRATE the archetype into ourselves, just as we do with our other manifestations.
From the moment you assume something to be true, it manifests itself. From the moment you assume to be something, you become it.
For those who want to integrate an archetype, I recommend that you study it first. Seek to understand how it can help you, if it is what you are really looking for, and then take on its qualities for yourself.
Subliminal messages can help, but IN MY OPINION, they are just a tool, an aid for us.
