@callme-speed-blog
I’m putting Barry on hiatus. I’ve just found out that I’m gonna be going back and forth from my dad’s more often and Quiz Bowl and Power of the Pen are starting up and I won’t have time for three blogs. I picked Barry to put on hiatus because he’s been a little shit lately and I haven’t had much muse for him lately.

“I’m smarter than Garrick, I don’t pick fights I can’t win.” Barry called it self preservation, the Flash had always called it cowardice. “You’re not fast enough to even think about catching Zoom, you’ll need back up.” He leaned up against the door frame and smiled. “Where is Jay? Holed up somewhere, mad that you picked Harrison Wells over him?”
He scrunched up his nose, “Jay did what he thought was right, just like I did.” Although, Barry will admit it now that he had been reckless in his approach against Zoom. The fact that he had underestimated him. Grimacing at the mention of his lack of speed, he was fast, but not fast enough. It seemed to be a reoccurring theme. “And just how are you going to help?” Was the other him faster? Wouldn’t that just be salt on the wound. “No– well, he left then came back. He’s here at the Lab more often now.”
“Well,” He laughed lightly. “You know what they say about good intentions.”
“I know Zoom better than anyone.” They weren’t friends, not in the least, but Zoom cared so much about the Flash that he mostly ignored Speed, letting Barry research the other speedster. “No doubt trying stop Wells from corrupting you.”

“Depends,” Barry said with a smile. “What would I be a distraction from?”
He needed one as well, something or someone to keep his mind off of Speed and the situation with Dr. Light. He had originally planned to kill her, but he was having second thoughts. It might to be good to have a nemesis, especially one who he could easily handle if it was necessary; Speed’s Captain Cold, if you will. That was one thing he missed about being the Flash, knowing that at any moment Snart could pull a heist and he’d get to take his mind off of everything for an hour to go and stop him.
“Life the universe and everything.” Linda couldn’t even remember where the quote came from, but it seemed apt. She considered him, then her glass. Which one would be better for a distraction? She was pretty sure Barry wouldn’t leave her with a hangover in the morning, so he had that going for him. Did he still have that problem with leaving people in the middle of things?
She knew she was drunk. This was probably a bad idea. She decided she didn’t care. “Come home with me and be distracting.”
“As tempting an offer that is,” Barry smirked, “you’re drunk. I’m not sure you’d make that same decision sober.” Who would have guessed, Speed was a decent guy under that mask. Barry tried to conceal his laugh. He could see Dr. Light getting along with Barry Allen, even though she hated his alter ego.
She glared at him, picking up her glass and draining it ostentatiously. “I am very drunk, and unless you distract me, I am going to be drunker. More drunk. Drunkiest. And I would absolutely make this decision sober. Iris doesn’t deserve you.”
“She doesn’t see it that way.” Barry said taking a drink. He reached over and took the glass from Linda. “I think you’ve had enough.”
I’m pretty sure my mom just lied to me. There is a box under our Christmas tree in superhero paper that has my name on it and it is the exact size as a funko pop box. My mom was like “there isn’t a pop-thing under the tree.” But the Captain Cold was like the number one thing I wanted.
It’s most likely a pop!!! I hope it is
It probably is, last night we moved stuff and it felt like it had that plastic window that the boxes have.
I am turning in my paper tomorrow, which is also the last day before break, so I should be on (if I can pull myself away from the star wars marathon)
Sorry I've been quiet, it's been finals week! <3 I hope you're having a great week and feeling better! Any good plans for the holidays? - s.s
I get it, I just finished a big paper. I was feeling better, if a little tired, until I saw a cookie Reese's peanut butter cup cheesecake on Facebook (and I love cheesecake) and I suddenly felt really sick. For the holidays all I'm doing is spending a bunch of time with my dad, but I never get to see him so that's nice.

ofallthingsspicy: Linda flipped through the netflix listing again, not really seeing it. She hadn't seen Barry for a few days, but much more worrisome, she hadn't heard anything at all regarding Speed. There's been no metas in danger, no calling her out -- nothing. It wasn't normal.
callme-speed: Barry leaned against the back wall of Linda's apartment building in full costume. He wanted to change and call her, but he also wanted to track Dr Light down. He was getting stir crazy, he hadn't done anything in days. Not since his last date with Linda
ofallthingsspicy: Finally, in frustration, she threw the remote into the couch pillows and suited up. If nothing else, she could patrol around and see what that stirred up. Invisibly, she slipped out of the building.
callme-speed: Barry sped out of sight when he heard the door open. He looked back, but couldn't see anyone. Just to be safe he turned to leave
ofallthingsspicy: Speed! Light hissed under her breath. Of course right now, right as she walks out of her own building, she finds him. Of course. That had to be a coincidence. She'd discussed some plans with Cisco for a weapon that would stop Speed in his tracks, but that's all it was: a discussion.
callme-speed: The hairs on the back of Barry's neck stood up. Someone was there. "Would that by any chance happen to be Dr Light?" he spun around and leaned against a tree
ofallthingsspicy: "How the /hell/ did you do that?" She moved so that it looked like she was coming from the opposite direction before dropping the invisibility, making sure she was disturbingly close to Speed.
callme-speed: "I know all your tricks by now." He moved so she wasn't so close, not letting the woman out of his sight.
ofallthingsspicy: "Is that why you disappeared? You know me so well, it's tempting you to be less villainous?"
callme-speed: "Sadly no, I was working." The CCPD had been swamped lately and Barry had been catching up over the last few days
ofallthingsspicy: "Oh, that's right, you like to pretend you're normal, with a normal job and normal attitudes. How's that working out?"
callme-speed: "We've been kind of swamped lately." He smirked. "My 'pretending' is good enough to fool the CCPD, so pretty good."
ofallthingsspicy: "And how does a villain get swamped, I wonder? An overload of good targets? And yet you've been absolutely silent. I don't think you're fooling anyone at all. I think you've been lying low."
callme-speed: "I never said I was talking about how I spend my nights. I still have a day job, you know."
ofallthingsspicy: "Probably as a cashier somewhere. Or, no, let me guess -- you're a paparazzi. That would suit you perfectly."
callme-speed: "Oh have some faith. I didn't get a degree in forensic science for nothing."
ofallthingsspicy: Under her helmet, she paled. It felt like all the blood was running out of her fingertips, out of her body. "Oh, please," she managed to scoff. "Like you could ever do something worthwhile." But it wasn't a game anymore, trying to make him angry or just get him to react at all.
callme-speed: "Did I strike a nerve?" He laughed. "And I think a lot of people would argue with you about that." He could tell something had changed, something had scared her.
ofallthingsspicy: "What you want to do to 'save' the city will never be worthwhile. Never." She needed to get away. Except he was more than capable of following her, and if she didn't keep him occupied, god only knew what he was out tonight for.
callme-speed: "You may see it that way." He stepped closer. "And if that's the case, I think you would approve of how I earn a living." He was worried, Light had never seemed this freaked out before, he could hear it in her voice.
ofallthingsspicy: "I can't think of a single thing I approve of about you. You're arrogant, dangerous, amoral, and probably insane." And all the evidence is pointing toward you being my boyfriend. When did my life turn into a movie? She felt like she could barely move, just watching him step closer.
callme-speed: "You're very negative." He said with a small smile. "Some people like danger, are you sure you aren't one of them? I mean you run around Central City in a mask, stopping bad guys."Barry was considering backing off, something was obviously up and it was kind of freaking him out.
ofallthingsspicy: "I'm just trying to protect people. It has nothing to do with my personal feelings. There are dangerous people out there -- like you."
callme-speed: "Oh, there's people a lot worse than me."
ofallthingsspicy: "What makes you so sure? You're the only one I know of planning to kill people."
callme-speed: "Maybe, but this town's crawling with metas who enjoy it."
ofallthingsspicy: "You're wrong. You're biased, and you're wrong. All you can see is the bad. What about Plastique? What about Firestorm? /I/ don't enjoy killing!"
callme-speed: "Maybe there's some decent metas out there, maybe. But 90% of them aren't."
ofallthingsspicy: "You made that up! You just made up that statistic. You're wrong! Literally, all you see is the bad ones! There's dozens of good metas out there, helping people out and you never hear about them."
callme-speed: "You never hear about them because they don't exist. Most metas only care about themselves, even Leonard Snart's above that."
ofallthingsspicy: "What is /wrong/ with you?! I could find a double handful of good metas and line them up in front of you and you would deny they exist! Not everyone has to be noticed like you, Speed! It's possible to do good things without ever putting on a suit or taking a name or anything!"
callme-speed: "But those good things, get covered up by all the bad metas have caused. Why can't you understand that?"
ofallthingsspicy: You can't judge a whole group by the actions of a few!" It had been almost fun, before, trying to persuade him. It was terrifying now, because she couldn't shake the sense that it really was Barry under that cowl, but Barry would never say those words. Would he?
callme-speed: "It's not a few." He was worried, Light had never seemed so scared before.
ofallthingsspicy: "It is." She backed up a few steps, surprised to discover that she was trembling. She had to get a handle on this, or when he finally changed his mind and attacked her she'd just crumple.
callme-speed: "Really? Then why does Iron Heights have a whole wing dedicated to them?" He studied the woman for a second, taking note of her trembling. "Okay, you know what? I'm gonna go, I promise I won't kill anyone tonight. Cause you obviously need a couple of days to sort things out. I don't know what's wrong, but it's serious enough that you are visibly shaking."
ofallthingsspicy: "Are -- are you /humouring/ me? Seriously?" Light couldn't decide if she was angry or glad.
callme-speed: "No, I'm not a complete dick." He was kind of surprised himself.
ofallthingsspicy: She just shook her head. "Fine. Have it your way."
callme-speed: "I'm trying to do you a favor."
ofallthingsspicy: She didn't move, slumping against the wall, one hand clutched to her stomach. Why hadn't she stayed home tonight?
callme-speed: "Do you want me to call you a cab? Or an ambulance?"
ofallthingsspicy: "No!" she ground out. "You're my enemy, I can't trust anything you do. Go. Away."
callme-speed: "Okay," he held his hands up. "I'm going."
ofallthingsspicy: She wanted, so badly, to rip her helmet off and just curl into a ball against the wall, but she forced herself to go invisible instead. There was no sense handing her identity to Speed. He really would kill her then.
callme-speed: He watched her disappear and stood there for a second before speeding off.
ofallthingsspicy: He was gone. Speed was gone. Light braced a hand against the wall, a shaky breath leaving her. Somehow she went inside. Speed had a forensic science degree. Barry had a forensic science degree. Unsuited. Speed said he fooled the CCPD. Barry worked for the CCPD. Ran a bath. Speed had claimed to have a date. Barry had gone on a date with her that same night.
