5 Hours
5 Hours - WIP
Experimenting with my 5 Hour Brief, many people walked past me today while sitting in Temple Gardens, so I decided to video and edit to create this short clip.
Inspired by John Smith’s ‘Soft Work’ Video.
'C' is for City
Hand rendered, intended to be screen printed in the near future!
Book Review - Summer Task
I have produced a folded down (to A6) A3 poster. The poster contains an introduction, imagery with some of my favourite quotes from the book, and a brief review of the book.
I was quite taken back by the structure and content of the book, so I reflected this within my design. Particularly in my review I do not go into great depth because I feel the book is something that needs to be experienced by the individual. It wasn't an ordinary book, it was unique, and occasionally it made me reflect on life.
Film Response.
I was given the task to respond to a film that either had the initial of my 1st or surname. I could also respond to one that had been directed by the surname of the director of that particular film. I found the film Cloverfield, which was directed by Matt Reeves. I decided to describe the film in 5 words to give a brief insight into elements of emotion, content and style of the film.
On my Radio - 'From Our Own Correspondent'.
We were asked to listen to a given radio programme for two weeks and were asked to think why we were asked to listen to it. I decided to make a double sided printout of the possible reasons why we were set the task.
5 hours.
Temple Garden - 30/9/14
A project set to explore and document a given area.
Picture Sound
Having been given a soundtrack from Tom I had to create my own visual response to the sound. The video had to abstract piece that involved such components as : shapes, lines, textures, light/dark, etc. The video also had to have a lo fi aesthetic appearance to it. The track Tom had created was full of energy and I wanted to create that energy in the video.
"Sound of the Summer" Poster.
A poster I have designed to promote my soundtrack. The typeface and illustration was hand drawn. I decided on using a colourful gradient because I felt the colours resembled the joy and vibrance of summer.
Listen Here
My minute "Sound of the Summer" piece. It is a soundtrack consisting of recordings throughout my Summer. I have also had my friend Alex help me with his guitar piece.
A teaser of my almost finished ‘Sound of the Summer’ piece. The soundtrack will be roughly a minute long. My good friend Alex is featuring in the track playing guitar.
As it's nearly the World Cup in Brazil I thought it would be a good idea to recreate some shocking moments from previous competitions.
Relay Week 11 - Aloha!
My Response to this.
As Dan continued with the CYMK theme but with a different image based on Hawaii I thought of surfing and shorts weather. I remembered then that I had a pair of board shorts that had hula girls as a pattern. So I decided to grab the image and create a CYMK pattern out of them! The word "Aloha" was below the girl, and I found out what it meant. It is either said when greeting or parting from someone.
Dan it's been a blast! But unfortunately it's over now, what a shame!
"Aloha!"
The Lie - Words in Motion Final
In this project we were asked to explore the combination of words and image through movement. We investigated a range of software technologies and processes used to create this video. We were given a poet to find the poem we chosen and an artist to influence the style of our video.
Poet - Anne Waldman Artist - Ellen Gallagher
Video made by Myself and Thomas Broom.
Relay Week 10 - Drunken Smile
My response to this.
Looking at Dan's response it reminded me the wondrous invention of alcohol. After tonight I will be able to sip a refreshing beer or two or many! The smiling bottled face resembles my excitement for finishing tomorrow!
Relay Week 9 - Homer ‘CYMK’ Simpson
My Response to this.
I really wanted to continue with Homer Simpson for this relay as I have never had the opportunity to draw him. I used illustrator to redraw probably my favourite Homer from episode “King-Sized Homer”. I then thought of how original the yellow in the Simpson characters are. So from there I decided to see how Homer would look using CYMK colours. As yellow was one of them you can see the original Homer.
I removed the outline of his arms, legs, etc. because I thought would show how important the unique colour is to fill the rest of the characters body.
