(I’ve kind of answered this over several posts, but to sum it up:

When Calvalia first arrived in Ancient Greece, she started spreading her flowers, the lily of the valley, across the land. These flowers caught Apollo’s attention, who was intrigued by their unique appearance and medicinal qualities. Following a trail of them led the god to her as she cried, and he comforted her with a song. They formed a bond when they sang together, and he immediately won her trust and affection, so she voluntarily followed him to Olympus where she pledged her loyalty to serve him. His fondness for her flowers, the lily of the valley, would also earn it the name “Apollinaris.”
