You feel as though the entirety of your self just came into being in the mind/body of someone who did not used to be you. You are overwhelmed and confused and scared. You get a strong (but baseless) feeling that your existence might end and that you might disappear forever back into the void you appeared from if your body and mind are able to calm down. If you stop feeling distraught and disoriented, you might not exist anymore.

This was a post about having a distressing plural experience during a mental breakdown, but yeah I suppose that the fragmented piece of myself who was involuntarily thrown into the driver seat and was terrified she would stop existing once I calmed down and started fronting again really is a meek centrist. I’ll keep in mind next time I am having a panic attack and am existentially terrified that the self I currently am will permanently disappear that giving in to that fear is how the fascists win. Im not really sure how what’s going on in the broken pieces of my headspace can influence the politics of the world outside my psyche, but I suppose that poor panicking facet of my personhood is morally weak and bad after all. If she never surfaces again and is lost to the depths of my mind that it is a good thing and that she deserves it for being a centrist
