For me abstact art has helped me work through anxiety. The first couple of days working up to @artwrk.ca show I had that full on anxiety. Painting helps calm my nerves and pulls my mind in a positive direction. Abstract art drives me to think deeply about how colors connect with eachother. I love brainstorming new ideas to paint, I find that using bold colors helps me express how I truly feel inside. I'm an introvert until you get to know me but I really love to have fun and joke around! . I created the abstract painting Imagine with the idea of have an abstract painting below a block printed leaf pattern. I used the dramatic effect of color in this painting to create imagery while having the subtle leaf pattern intertwine throughout the painting.

Hi!
I’d like to introduce myself I’m Candice Grant an artist based in Vancouver, Canada. Educated in Graphic Design, my path led me to the love of abstract painting. I’m inspired by the surrounding nature, I work mainly in abstract well at times drawn to works in mixed media. The imperfections on a paved road, a shedding tree are all utilized in my work.
