Sometimes you have to get out of the gym or get off your regular path to get out of a fitness rut. Find new and beautiful places to work out, go there with someone whose company you enjoy, push yourself in different ways than you normally would. Recently we did this by running in some more rural areas nearby. Fresh terrain, fresh air, and fresh perspective. #running #fitness #barn #motivation #farm #field
What got you into running?
What was it that got you thinking, "I would really love to go for a run right now."
There's nothing more wonderful than going on a spring day run by some cute sheep and some beautiful scenery.
Rachel and I started our running adventures together not ironically on the bike trail. We "ran" into eachother on a lovely afternoon. She had just started her run and so I decided to join.
This has become our routine now and we now run every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. (Rachel has been on me about it, she is a great motivator)
First step in having a successful run in my opinion is FINDING A BUDDY. Sommeone who can motivate you, encourage you and convince you that you ARE improving, even if sometimes you feel like a flamingo trying to walk in peanut butter.
Somedays are easier than others and sometimes running sounds like the last thing you want to do. But you just have to START. Once you start, it will get easier and it will begin to feel as natural as walking.

Studies show that if you just have a bit of conjestion, you can still heal, even if you run,(Sorry)! **New runner? The most common complaint among new runners is the dreaded "shin splints." You can treat shin splints by over the counter medications, elevation, ice and lower leg strength excersises (calf raises). Also, it is very important to keep and eye on your form, if you are developing aches and pains it could very well be from an improper running gait. Also, how old are your shoes? Old shoes can also cause the annoying cramps in your leg to worsen.
