His name was Max and I grew up with him until he died of old age. Then during covid we adopted two puppies (alphi and betty) from my dad's friend but unfortunately they didn't live long. 😔😔
Then came the fourth after a long time because I wasn't really ready for another dog after losing 3. He was also adopted and was a stray breed and honestly I'm so glad we decided to take him in. I named him Scooby and he was genuinely such a great friend 😝 He didn't give a fuck about me but that's fine cuz I really loved him💞💞 I still miss him sometimes though.

You were feeling down after a really bad week at school and your best friend Seonghyeon had noticed that. To cheer you up, he decided to take you to the new dog cafe that opened recently and the only reason he even knew it existed was because Keonho wouldn't shut up about it. For once, Seonghyeon was greateful to that guy.
"A dog cafe?" You asked with excitement. You knew it was exactly what you needed after how life had been treating you lately.
The two of you were staring at a small but cozy building with a lot of barking coming from the inside. As you entered, a small brown Chihuahua ran up to you. The dog distribution system had finally chosen you.
"Well aren't you the cutest little baby." You cooed while picking up the dog and babying him. Seonghyeon recognised the dog immediately but decided to stay quiet when he saw Keonho in front of him staring at you with those heart eyes. He knew exactly what was going on.
"I have to go somewhere," He looks at you, "so try having fun on your own with all those fur babies."
As Seonghyeon left, more dogs started crowding near you and it felt like you had finally ascended to heaven. But that's when you noticed someone staring at you. Little did you know, the Chihuahua you held in your hands was your soon to be future son.
bf!keonho who used Cookie as an excuse to visit the dog cafe regularly but in reality he just wanted to see you. The way you were so friendly with Cookie and the other dogs, even with people.
After you found out Cookie was Keonho's dog, you visited daily after school to relieve stress. You slowly started learning more about Keonho, the kind of person he was, and even started falling for him.
In the end, he confessed first after one month of knowing each other and you happily said yes.

Keonho just rolled his eyes and you guys continued exploring. There were various little shops and the both of you bought trinkets for each other.
"Look!" You excitedly show him a keychain of a dog. "This one looks like Cookie."
Seeing you happy, he just smiled and ended up buying that one too.
bf!keonho who's happy to see you attending his swim competition with Cookie in your hands. Both of you were cheering him on which gave him more confidence.
"Cookie look over there," You pointed at the kid with a green cap, "that's your dad!" The dog did not give a fuck and looked everywhere except towards the pool.
Your eyes were only focused on Keonho and his was focused on the competition. When he looked towards the stands for just a few seconds, he was able to spot you even with his bad eyesight because you were the only one with a dog in your hand.
Knowing the two of you (and his friends) were watching, he definitely couldn't lose.
He ended up winning first place as usual of course.

Chapter 4
As much as you hated calculus class, there was one good thing about it, Kwon Ohyul. Despite how all of Cortis (except Martin) tried to warn you to stay away from him, you thought it would be fine to at least stare at him, right?
The way he’d casually talk to you and randomly ask you doubts in the middle of class, how could you possibly ignore him.
But all that would soon come to an end when you finally attended your first history lesson with Mr. RM. Turns out Ohyul was sitting in front of you and behind you was none other than Martin. It was hard talking to Ohyul with Martin behind you, always glaring.
The lunch hour today was a bit more tense than usual, especially with Martin being so quiet which was strange.
“Guess what I saw.” Seonghyeon finally decides to break the silence. “Keonho’s ex was hanging out with Ryul.”
“What?”
“No way.”
“When did she become his ex?”
Keonho seemed confused as well. “I literally broke up with her last night and she’s already with Ryul now?”
“We are totally not gonna let her fuck you over like that.” Martin said as pulled out his phone. “James, what’s Mr. Jay Park’s number?”
“Why the teacher’s number?” Juhoon asked.
“He’s basically like Ryul’s parent, to be honest.” James answered as he gave the number to Martin.
When Mr. Jay finally picked up the phone Martin changed his voice to a more high pitched sound. “Hi, may I speak to Ryul please?”
“He’s not here, and I’m his teacher.” He replied.
“I’m from Planned Parenthood and I have his test results. Could you ask him to call back? It’s urgent.” Martin hung up the phone immediately. That was kinda evil, you had to admit it inside your head.
“Wait, so, Ryul got pregnant?” James leaned in, raising one of his eyebrows. It seemed like the rest of the group was already used to his weird questions.
“No, idiot. Keonho’s ex is.” Juhoon replied.
“She actually is?” James asked again.
Everyone just collectively gave up.
“You should totally come over to Martin’s house after school today.” Juhoon invited you but he didn’t seem to really mean it. Like he was sort of scripted to say that. Martin coughs lightly beside him.
“I mean, I guess you could come over.” He was trying to avoid eye contact with you so much.
“Um, sure.”
“Ugh, my hairline is receding." James was looking at a pocket sized mirror with a worried expression.
“That’s because you’re getting old. At least you don't have to worry about huge pores.” Keonho replied.
“Oh please, my nailbeds suck.” Seonghyeon explained looking at his nails. You didn’t even know that was a thing until now.
“Posture problems are obviously the worst.” Juhoon started slouching more.
“Well at least you guys aren't too tall.” Martin rolled his eyes and then looked at you. Everyone ended up looking at you. They were waiting for you to complain too.
“Um, my breath stinks in the morning right after I wake up.” You tried to sound convincing and somehow it actually worked.
“You know, you’re actually kind of pretty.” Martin says out of nowhere.
“Thank you.”
“So you agree?”
“What?”
“You think you’re really pretty?”
“Isn’t that what you said?”
Everyone just goes quiet after that.
As you pull up to Martin’s house you can’t help but stare in awe. It was so huge, you just knew all the rumors about this guy were true. 'Hey, maybe I could get one of his Prada glasses if I ask nicely?'
You ring the doorbell and Juhoon comes to answer the door. He guides you upstairs to Martin’s room. When you opened the door your eyes were everywhere except on the people inside the room. It was filled with posters from all the walls to the ceiling, multiple musical instruments lying around, clothes everywhere, a huge pile of shoes in a corner and a desk stacked with accessories. Among all the posters you’d spot some out of place, bright pink posters which you didn’t bother to read. But one thing that did catch your eye was the huge pink book on his bed.
“I like your room.”
“Thanks.” Martin seemed a bit more nervous than usual.
The others were already settled around various parts of the room doing their own thing.
Martin noticed you staring at the book and picked it up. Everyone else got excited the moment the book touched his hands.
“This,” He looks at you with a smug expression, “is the Burn Book.”
“Burn Book?” You were confused at the weird name written on its cover.
“It’s where we wrote crap about all the other kids and tore out the photos from the yearbook.” Keonho explained while laughing.
All of you sat on Martin’s huge bed while going through it and honestly most of it felt so mean.
“Hitman Bang is a total power tripping narcissist.”
“Iroha’s height is comparable to an ant.”
“Taehyun is a furry.”
Everyone kept laughing as they read each page out. One of them had a photo of Seonghyeon kissing an acai bowl. “Happily married weirdo.”

Everyone else continued their conversations about other things and you couldn’t really find an opening to join in. Martin seemed to be the only one to notice and sat beside you.
“Are you and Ohyul friends?” He asked, looking straight at the other guys who were busy in their own world.
‘Should I tell him the truth or avoid it like the others told me to.’ You didn’t know exactly how to respond. Perhaps it was better if you lied.
“Not really.” Which was technically the truth since you and Ohyul didn’t have any established labels.
“Then why were you guys so friendly during class?” He finally looked at you. “He kept turning back to talk to you.”
“He just had some doubts.”
Martin scoffed at your answer. “Don’t hang out with him. He’s straight up bad news, trust me.”
“Aren’t you kind of the same too?” You didn’t mean to say it but it just slipped out. He frowned at your words.
“So what? You think you’re this super nice girl and we are the evil ones?”
‘Yes.’ You wanted to say but this time you were able to control yourself.
“No.”
In the end you both ended up spending the entire hangout in silence next to each other. You’d never understand what the mean boy was talking about or what he was thinking. No one really does.

Chapter 3
Wonhee was laughing loudly from the washroom as you explained what happened between you and Cortis.
“Oh my god, this is perfect!” She realised something instantly. “You should totally infiltrate their group and tear it out from the inside, especially Martin and Keonho. And report back to me all the horrible things they say.”
“I don't know Wonhee, Martin seems nice so far.” You sighed putting the mascara back into your purse. “And honestly I think you and Keonho could be great friends.”
“Be for real girl.” Wonhee rolled her eyes at what you said.
“Martin is fabulous, but evil.” Keeho comes out of nowhere.
“What the fuck are you doing the in the girls washroom?”
“Don’t mind him.” Wonhee holds your shoulders as she continues. “C’mon you gotta do this, please!”
“What would we even talk about?”
“The rising cost of abortion?” Keeho raises one of his eyebrows. “So much to talk about honestly with Martin. I think he’d love to have a conversation about how Vivienne Westwood, even though a punk brand, somehow is now a luxury brand.”
“I think Keeho would do better than me.” You tried to convince Wonhee but it just doesn’t work.
“Okay, fine I’ll do it.” You agreed after Wonhee’s constant persuasion. “Do you have anything in pink by the way?”
“No.”
“Yes.”
Wonhee and Keeho simultaneously answered.
The next day you pull up to school in Keeho’s pink shirt that had some writings on it which you didn’t bother to read. As you make your way around school during lunch break you remember everything Wonhee told you about the other kids and their ‘groups’. There were too many and remembering all their names was hard. “Why did they even have names?” You thought to yourself. “Wouldn’t it be easy to just stereotype them like The Plastics? Wait, why were The Plastics called Cortis anyway?” Thoughts kept consuming you and without realising, you had already reached the cafeteria.
You spot the guys having lunch at the same place as yesterday and walk up to them. You sat beside James since that was the only spot open. Having lunch with Cortis was like escaping the normal world and living in the celebrity world, in a way. And they sure had lots of rules.
“We only wear jeans or track pants on Friday. You can’t wear a tank top two days in a row. You can only wear a hat once a week, but James is an exception because of his crazy hat collection.” Keonho would not stop talking about all the rules you had to follow if you wanted to continue having lunch with them. “So, I guess, you picked today to wear a hat.” He looks at the brown hat you had on which matched your skirt . “And if you break any of these rules you can’t sit with us at lunch. I mean, not just you, any of us. Like, if I was wearing jeans today, I would be sitting over there with the basketball freaks.”
“I play basketball.” James looked offended at what Keonho said.
“Whatever, old man.” Keonho replies. That starts off their bickering while you just listened to as much as you could to report back to Wonhee like she had asked.
“We always vote before we ask someone to eat lunch with us, because you have to be considerate of the rest of the group.” Juhoon continued where Keonho had left off. “I mean, you wouldn’t buy a shirt without asking your friends first if it looks good on you.”
“And kebab.” Seonghyeon added.
“Kebab?” You were confused about what that was about.
“Seriously,” Martin glares at Seonghyeon, “drop it. That’s a really old incident to bring up in the big 2026.”
“The kebab incident is never too old to bring up.” Juhoon defends Seonghyeon.
“What exactly is the kebab incident?” You asked. And you regretted it immediately because now the whole group was explaining the most insignificant argument you had heard in your entire life. “Is it that easy to cause a fight inside this group? Over a kebab?” Wonhee’s plan might actually work out faster than you thought.
“It’s the same with crushes by the way. You may think you like someone, but you could be wrong.” James comments as the rest were still fighting over the ‘kebab incident’, if you could even call it that.
“You guys just can’t appreciate the things I do for you.” Martin said as he got up from his seat and left to get more food.
“So, have you seen anyone you think is cute?” Juhoon asked.
“Well, there is a guy in my calculus class, his name was Ohyul-”
“NO!” Everyone replied immediately.
“He is, like, totally off-limits.” Seonghyeon says and you couldn’t really focus on his words because that pink jacket of his was really distracting in some way.
“He used to be friends with Martin, until he totally ghosted him out of nowhere.” Keonho explained. Each of them took turns to explain to you why Kwon Ohyul was off-limits.
“You don’t want to be close with someone who Martin is on bad terms with.”
“Ohyul hangs out with those Longshot guys now.”
“He even wore jeans and a black shirt on freaking Tuesday even though we told him not to.”
“Those guys are on good terms with Mr. Jay Park too, the music teacher.”
It was a lot to process and you still didn’t understand what happened between Martin and Ohyul but one thing was for sure, it’s best you forget about your cute little crush on him.
Martin comes back with more food on his tray and everyone pretends like the conversation they just had never took place
“By the way, I told Mr. RM that Keonho had muscle cramps everywhere due to excessive swimming and we have to stick by him to help him so we could skip history class today.”
Keonho looked at Martin with a face of betrayal. “Why me? And why say muscle cramps?”
“Yeah, why couldn’t you just say he was pregnant or something?” James asked.
“Or testicular problems, to make it more believable.” Seonghyeon adds.
Oh boy, this was gonna be a long day. But hey, at least you get to skip history class. You could see why having Cortis as your friends was good.

Chapter 2
Sitting in a classroom filled with kids your age and a teacher who wasn’t your mom was a little strange but exciting. But the most exciting part? The guy in front of you, Kwon Ohyul. During calculus he turned back to ask for a pencil.
“Holy shit.” You thought to yourself. He smiled and turned his head back after receiving the pencil. You’ve only had two crushes in your whole life, one was your dad’s godson - Myung Jaehyun. The flashback hits you as you remember meeting him for the first time on the beach.
“Do you like surfin’?” His voice was so captivating that you ended up saying yes. The rest was an embarrassing memory you’d rather not think about.
The second was Ningning from CNN. She was a bit older than you but her charming skills were just too good. Especially that time when she winked at you.
It was finally lunch break and you were gonna see Wonhee and Keeho again. You walk around the cafeteria nervously trying to find them. Suddenly out of nowhere Woonhak shows up, the same guy who said it was amazing to get punched by Martin.
“Hey, we’re doing a survey for the new kids so mind if we ask you some questions?” You knew even if you did say no, he’d keep insisting so you just agreed with it.
“So first question, how many guys have you dated?”
“What?”
“If it’s zero, would you like our help to get you some?”
“Excuse me?” His questions kept getting weirder.
That was when a really tall figure came in to interrupt. Perfect looking and fast on his feet, Martin decided to step in between you and Woonhak. Keonho and Juhoon were right behind him.
“Is he bothering you?” Martin’s question was directed at you but he was looking at Woonhak.
“I’m just being friendly.” He answered.
“You skipped swim practice to be friendly with the new kids?” Keonho steps forward. You remembered Keeho saying he was the swim team’s captain.
“Woonhak,” Martin continued, “you do not come to my party making fake promises to Keonho and then try scamming some poor innocent girl two days later in front of me alright? She’s clearly not interested.” He finally looks at you. “Do you want to date him?”
“No.” You replied, firm with your answer.
“Then it’s settled. Bye Woonhak.” He does a little wave before walking away with his two minions. People were really not kidding when they said his sass was unmatchable.
You finally find Wonhee and Keeho at one of the tables and walk up to them.
“Hey guys.”
“What was that?” Wonhee scoffs.
“What was what?”
“The whole Martin coming in to rescue you.”
“Oh that, I don’t really know either.” You guys just laughed it off and continued enjoying lunch when you spotted The Plastics sitting a few tables ahead of you. You make the mistake of accidentally having eye contact with Martin.
“Fuck, Wonhee.” You looked down immediately.
“What?”
“I think I just made eye contact with Martin.”
“So?”
“Still kinda embarrassed here after what happened.”
“Please it’s not a big deal. Martin is used to having all eyes on him, he’ll just ignore it like usual-”
Wonhee was interrupted by Martin’s loud (and unnecessary) voice.
“Hey new girl, come sit with us!” He shouted.
You regretted every moment of your existence that time. You knew you weren’t supposed to leave Wonhee and Keeho but something inside you said your school life would be absolute hell if you didn't listen to Martin. Besides, it couldn’t be that bad since he helped you out a few minutes ago.
You pick up your tray and slowly walk towards them. James moves a little to the side to make space for you.
“So, what’s your name?” Seonghyeon asked.
“Y/N….”
“Where are you from?” Juhoon who was sitting beside James leans in forward looking at you.
“Africa…”
“No way.” Martin gasped in a theatrical way.
“Wait if you’re from Africa, why do your clothes look like you got them from that thrift store around the nearby block?” James raised an eyebrow.
“Cause it is from that shop…?”
You now understood what Wonhee meant about James.
All of a sudden Martin holds your wrist, startling you a bit. “Where’d you get that bracelet? I love it.” He was looking at the studded bracelet you wore.
“Africa.”
“It's so fetch.” Keonho replied.
Martin just rolled his eyes at that. “Stop trying to make fetch happen, it’s not gonna happen.”
As Martin let go of your hand you noticed beneath the table he and Keonho were kicking each other’s legs.
“Seriously? This is who the whole school revolves around? They act like five year olds.” You thought to yourself.
All of a sudden Martin looks at you. “Okay, I’m gonna make this short. Just so you know we don’t do this for everyone so this is a huge deal.”
“Okay?”
“We want to invite you to have lunch with us everyday for the rest of the week.”
“Um, sure?”
“Great.” James replied.
“We’ll see you tomorrow.” Juhoon took his empty tray and stood up.
“Don’t go bragging everywhere about this.” Seonghyeon and the others also get up from their seats.
“Oh and on Tuesdays, we wear pink.” Keonho adds before everyone leaves.

Chapter 1
You were the new kid at school and as it goes usual for new kids, you were pretty much out of place. Westbrook High was just like any other high school out there yet something about it felt different, in a bad way.
As you start going through your locker to set things up, a cute girl with doe eyes and long dark hair leans in next to you.
“So, you're the new kid?” She asked.
“Is it that obvious?”
“Not really, I just got a thing for these kinds of observations.”
You both laugh a little at that and she proceeds to introduce herself.
“I'm Wonhee, and that guy is Keeho.” She says pointing behind you. When you turn around you see a blonde guy with a pretty smile. You didn't even notice he was standing behind you.
“Woah, hey.” You waved at him.
“Did you go to St. Anns last year?”
“No?”
“Cause you look a lot like the girl who played Sandy in their production of Grease.” He said.
“Don't worry, everyone here is weird. We just happened to be the weirdest.” Wonhee explained. “You wanna join us for lunch?”
“Yeah, that'd be great.” An awkward laugh comes out of your mouth. Perhaps this school year wouldn't be so bad after all
Or perhaps you spoke too soon because all of a sudden the hallway got quiet and everyone was moving to the side, like making a path.
“Ugh, they're here.” Wonhee scoffs.
“Who?”
“Cortis,” Keeho said in disgust, “they practically rule this school. They’re shiny, fake and hard.”
“You see that guy at the left end? That’s James.” Wonhee says, pointing at a sharp looking guy. “He’s the dumbest person you’ll ever meet.”
“Next to him is Juhoon,” Keeho continued, “He’s rich as shit cause his dad made Toaster Strudel, and he was also a child model.”
“On the right end is Keonho, he knows everything about everybody.”
“Probably why his hair is so big, it’s full of secrets. He also happens to be the swim team's leader." Keeho adds. The two of them were totally in sync while talking.
“Next to Keonho, is Seonghyeon.” Wonhee points to a guy with a unique smile.
“Head of the cheerleaders and school band with a hot temper.” Keeho explains.
“And finally we have the centre piece, their leader.” The scowl on Wonhee’s face hardens as she speaks. “Martin Edwards Park.”
“Woah.”
“He, is a mythic bitch.”
“Cortis is solid, never bothered, never harassed.” Keeho stares at them as they walk by us.
“Martin is the queen bee.” Wonhee crosses her arms. “Always dressed up, always wins Spring Fling King, and we’re all just his drones.”
“You really hate them huh. But why do you hate them?” You asked.
“What do you mean?”
“Did they do something to offend you?”
“They’re plastics. There’s nothing they do that doesn’t offend me.”
“What do the others think?” You asked, looking around.
Suddenly the scene changes towards Hanni. “Evil takes a human form in Martin Edwards. Don't be fooled 'cause he may seem like your typical, selfish, back-stabbing, manwhore, performative male but in reality, he is so much more than that.” She said with horror dripping from her tone.
Next the camera pans towards Woojin. “How do I even begin to explain Martin Edwards? He is flawless.” He comments.
Eunchae was next. “He has two Prada glasses and a silver Vivienne Westwood.” She said excitedly.
“I heard he does car commercials in Japan.” Iroha responded.
“One time, he punched me in the face. It was awesome!" Woonhak exclaimed.
“Oh…wow..” You stammered after hearing so much about Martin. There were people who admired him, wanted to be like him whereas some of them absolutely hated him. But one thing is for sure, everyone knew Cortis and their extreme popularity was undeniable.

"Sooo, why'd you wanna meetup?" Keonho asked while going through the stuff in your room. Even thought he place was a bit messy, it gave it a personality.
"Uhhhh right." Even though the plot armour exists you were still visibly nervous. "I wanted to discuss about the whole fake dating thing we got going on."
"Oh, okay. What about it?"
"So Martin texted me again, well technically I texted him first asking about Stacey..."
"Mhm, and?"
"He said he broke up with her." You were spinning around in your rotating chair while Keonho had made himself comfortable in your bed.
"Oh, so like, you're getting back with him?" There was a slight stinging pain in his voice.
"I did think about it but then I decided not to."
"Oh???" A huge smile showed up on his face and he didn't even try to hide it.
"And I think that um... we should stop fake dating too."
This time it was keonho's turn to look nervous. He was not ready for that. "Ok, that's fine."
"Wait I'm not finis-"
"It's fine, we both knew this would end anyway."
"Yeah but-"
"I mean we can still stay friends right?"
"Of course, but-"
"But it's gonna be awkward when we hang out with everyone."
"Will you jus-"
"Especially considering they all know I genuinely do like you."
"WILL YOU LET ME FUCKING TALK???" you had enough of him interrupting you and stood up from your chair.
"Um yeah of course."
"I said we needed to stop fake dating so we can ACTUALLY date!"
"What?"
"KEONHO IM HAPPY YOU LIKE ME TOO BECAUSE GUESS WHAT? I LIKE YOU TOO!"
"WAIT WHAT?" he got up from the bed immediately.
Both of you just stood there staring at each other with an awkward silence.
"So uh, we dating for real now?" He asks and surprisingly seemed shy about it.
"Hell yeah we are."
