Let’s try this again.
It’s night time and you made your way into the garden, although to a different spot. Hopefully, Piotr hasn’t followed you. You tried asking an owl if it could keep an eye on him. It didn’t go well - to say the least.
“Young one,” the owl began in a gentle voice, “it is quite rude for you to ask me such a task. Yes, it may be an easy one, but I’ve got my own life too. I was even getting ready to go hunting.” The owl’s head turned 180 degrees, then back to you.
“I shall be off now. It’s not healthy to skip a meal. Take care, young one.” Then it flew off.
You pursed your lips and furrowed your eyebrows as you kept walking. You were beginning to stomp on the grass as well. You asked the bloody bird politely as well. Actually -no- you were a stuttering mess. The owl might’ve thought that you weren’t worth it’s time.
Now that’s just not fair. Well… It’s an animal… it would be stupid to blame one when people don’t even know you can talk to them. People would think that you’re crazy or something…
You stopped walking to see how far you are from the mansion.
Pretty far to be honest. You were near the perimeter of where the forest lead off. For sure, nobody would dare to go this far at night.
Before settling in, you closed your eyes and took a deep breath.
Deep breaths, Y/N. Deep breaths. You’re going to leave soon. All you have to do is get the hang of your mutation and then bam! You’re free…
Peace came over you once again. Everything was okay. You’re okay.
You embraced the sounds of the gentle breeze against the grass, and the cold wind softly passing against your face. When you were ready, you opened your eyes and looked at the expected view.
It immediately made you smile.
I don’t know how much longer I have to be here but… I’m coming home. You thought, as if you were telepathically talking to your parents.
I’ve tried so many times to escape, but the professor has his ways. It’s been hard especially with Piotr - this other student that’s going to keep an eye on me. He now knows about my little habit and is probably finding me now…
The thought of him made you grimace. To reduce the probability of that happening, you made yourself comfortable and laid down on your back. Piotr would definitely have a hard time looking for you. He’d eventually give up and go back inside. The thought of it made you smirk.
Although it was short-lived when you suddenly sat up - frantically looking around at your surroundings.
Nope. Nothing. You were alone. Must’ve been the wind or something.
Yeah… I’m just imagining things...
You laughed nervously as you eased yourself back down.
Just… just look up, you told yourself - and so you did.
Everything was okay. You were here.
Safe.
Wait…
Safe?
No, I’d be much more safe if I were at home. I’m not safe here. I can’t trust anybody. They’re all trying to get involved with my life. I don’t want it--
“I finally found you.”
You screamed when you saw Piotr’s face peering over you.
“Ah! Sorry!” Piotr immediately apologised, raising his hands up in defense and trying to calm you down. “It’s just me, Y/N,” He smiled sheepishly, “It’s just me.”
It took you a while to get a steady heartbeat and breathe normally. Meanwhile, Piotr sighed in relief that you haven’t ran away. Yet.
You stared at him with wide, frightened eyes.
How… how could he possibly--?
“Y/N! There you are!” Your father’s merry voice rang. You were hiding in the small backyard of your home. It was night time and you decided to sneak out and practice your mutation. The thing is: you weren’t expecting your father to make a surprise visit.
You squeaked and spun around to face your father.
Your father just raised his eyebrows in amusement. He laughed it off then went to take a seat next to you. “Looks like I finally found you,” He grinned when you finally looked at him.
“Bozhe moi, Y/N? I- I’m really sorry. I didn’t mean to scare you,” Piotr kneeled and carefully reached his hand out, offering to comfort you. Again: you tensed when he touched your shoulder.
“Don’t touch me!” You barked.
Piotr withdrew his hand, shocked at your sudden hostility. You stared at the ground, breathing heavily, processing that flash of your childhood memory. He… he’s just too much!
“Y/N, we need to talk about this--”
“Argh! Leave me alone!” You were about to take off again, like the other night, but you stood your ground when you heard a sharp, yet gentle “don’t”.
You looked behind you and saw the owl perched on a branch of the nearest tree to you. You stared at it in awe.
It...it listened to me…
The owl went on as if it wasn’t waiting for an answer.
“You’d to stay with this one… I’m sensing a lot of...troubling thoughts from you…” It blinked -watched for any reaction from you- then went on anyways as you were still at a loss for words.
“It would be easier for you to accept it.”
With those vague final words, it flew off to spend the rest of the night however it likes.
“Y/N?”
...I can’t…
You got up and began walking back to the mansion.
I just don’t want to be here anymore. You tried to hold back tears from slipping out again. This time, you allowed Piotr to follow you, at a certain distance though. Every time you saw him - for some reason- there was this weird feeling you had. It felt like he was a threat to you. Yeah - maybe that was it. No wonder why you wanted to take flight whenever he showed up.
But the owl! Wait -What about the owl? Surely you can trust this guy. But how can you trust what the owl said!? No-no-no I’m sure all animals can be trusted. No, but that one time though!
You huffed - tired of the internal battle of whether to trust or not to trust. To test which side you were on, you looked over your shoulder. As expected, Piotr was there, respectfully keeping his distance while also making sure you...fine.
As if you couldn’t vocalise your apology, you gave him an apologetic smile.
It was enough for him to accept it, and returned with a comforting one.
One that said: ‘It’s going to be okay. I’m here for you.’
This absolute slapper of a banger of a song is called Serbetico and it’s by Goran Bregovic, who makes a lot of cool Balkan semi-orchestral folk-ish waltz type stuff. He’s even made music with Iggy Pop and Johnny Depp.
Summary: Just being glad to be back with Stephen again after beating Thanos. A bit of angst, but mostly fluff.

A/N: First Dr Strange x reader fic! Enjoy! Just to make it clear, it takes place after ‘Endgame’.
“It’s so good to see you again.” You whispered, snuggling closer to Stephen in your shared bedroom. It was morning and the two of you were having a bit of a sleep in.
“You were there when we had to fight Thanos and his army, Y/N.” He retorted.
You playfully smacked his shoulder. “You know what I mean, Mister Strange-”
“Doctor Strange.” He grumbled, which you laughed. It was so easy to have a go at him.
“But still,” You placed your hand on his bare chest, “we’ve never had the chance to properly catch up.” Stephen chuckled and you can tell what was on his mind. “Not in that way, Stephen! You know... like having some quiet time together. Just us and nothing to worry about at all.”
You shuddered when Stephen began to run his fingers through your hair.
It’s been such a long time. Five years, trying to protect the world’s reality, trying to manage the sanctum with Wong. Even at Kamar Taj, you thought you were capable of being Sorcerer Supreme. When Stephen was gone: you realised you weren’t ready for such a position. You even realise that you still had a long way to go in learning the mystic arts. Oh how easy it would’ve been if you were like Stephen: smart, studious, having a photographic memory, getting to stop time and extend your magical abilities while fighting a big bad enemy.
On second thought, the last one was pretty bad since he had to die many times. Yikes. You immediately turned your attention back into the present. Where you and him were together in each other’s arms. Listening to his heartbeat reminded you that it was all over. You were safe. He was safe too.
For once in your lives.
You let out a short, sad sigh.
“You’ll have to go soon, yeah?”
Stephen stopped playing with your hair for a few seconds, but continued - although slowly.
“You know I have to…” Stephen eventually said, and you felt the guilt in his voice. You and Stephen were so aware of all the time lost, and it doesn’t even feel like it’s been made up for it yet. It’s been too long.
You buried your head into his chest.
Five years. Five years without him. All the memories of you being alone flooded back into you. The nights you spent crying and aching to be with Stephen. Sometimes you didn’t know what to do and you knew Stephen would always be there.
“Stephen…” You whimpered. He sensed it too.
“I know, Y/N. Wong told me all about it. I must say though,” He cupped her cheek and tilted your head up so he could look into your eyes. “I am very, very grateful that you and Wong managed to handle everything while I was gone,” He paused, seeing your eyes starting to get teary. He then kissed your forehead. “I’m here now.”
“And I’m really sorry I left you,” He said then pressed his lips against yours. “I… I didn’t know I had to… I didn’t have a choice, Y/N.”
“I know, Stephen. It just… hurts, you know?” You gave a small chuckle to lighten the mood, but it was true. There was so much pain from the past. There was so many things you wanted to tell him; all the problems you had and how scared you were without him. The times you felt so lost and confused as to why he would be gone all of a sudden.
No- you were safe though. You were reunited with your lover again. Here, in this bedroom in this glorious morning. This time, he was going to stay with you until the end.
You shook your head as if you were shaking off the past. “It might take awhile for me to get over it but,” You kissed him gently, “I’m happy that you’re home now.” You felt Stephen’s lips form into a smile as he kissed you back. God, you missed that too. Those soft, sweet kisses of his- which inevitably lead to something more.
“I love you so much.” The two of you said at the same time. You laughed, then repositioned yourself so you were on top of him with your arms around his neck.
“I missed you, Stephen,” you breathed and kissed him deeply and more needily, which he happily did the same. “I missed you so much,” You moaned. You felt his hands travel up and down your back, and it sent a shiver down your spine. That man definitely still has some skilled hands. “Thank God you’re home.”
There was a knock on the door.
Wong.
He can wait for a few minutes
You pulled away and rested your forehead against Stephen’s, smiling in content. He has to go, but you knew he was going to come back.
“Later tonight?” Stephen murmured. You bit your lip- excited for tonight’s events.
“Yeah… toni--”
“Hey -uh- Doctor Strange? It’s Spiderman-- Hey, dude! I mean- Wong, right? Just-- Doctor Strange this is important! I swear!” Peter’s voice called on the other side of the door.
“It’s a bit urgent and I need you -like- now. Um… I know it’s bad timing and I’m getting a bit uncomfortable from what I’m picking up on the other side of this door but--”
The teenager’s voice was tuned out as you watched Stephen sigh and pinched the bridge of his nose.
“You weren’t expecting him to see you, were you?”
“Yep. I guess I can be of some assist--” You cut him off by kissing him again, gently this time. Another few seconds went by. Both of you even ignored the commotion happening between Wong and Peter.
“You really can’t get enough of me.” Stephen teased as he pulled away. You played along.
“It was just a ‘have-a-good-day-at-work’ kiss. But yeah… you should go now… um… you won’t be gone for long...right?”
“Of course, Y/N. I’ll be back--”
“Doctor Strange! I seriously need your help! Wong’s scaring me!”
He sighed again.
“I’ll be back within an hour.”
And so he was up and out of the bed. Before getting dressed, he looked back at you and said, in the most suavest way, “be ready by then. You know how I like it.”
He winked then went off, leaving you flustered and more excited.

AAAAAAH I’m okay! I’m okay! I’m answering this at like 4am so bare with me :’)
I’m being a bit too calm about this but I’m fortunate enough to never experience such a horrible thing. I live in Victoria and we’ve got this north, south, east, west suburb thing going on.
Throughout my entire life, I vaguely remember bushfires happening anywhere other than the west. For sure, Australia has crazy weather (convert 40 degrees Celsius to Fahrenheit) and I just got kind of used to hearing these things. There’s also the farmers suffering from droughts and I’ve heard that the suicide rate is high. Look, it really sucks that Australia probably has the worst weather, but we’re trying to make do. Like you, I really care if the people experiencing this are safe.
Although bushfires are not my main concern (I am heavily grateful to be safe) in the west, we have a gang problem (so far with high school students). It really concerns me how students think it is cool to be all “swag” and “gangster” and I hate it when there is violence between gangs, especially in a public space. In particular, we have the ‘African gang’ problem, but there’s also Asian gangs and Islander gangs.
I may be naive saying this, but I really think that these people are doing this to look tough or something. Like, from the islanders I’ve met and dress like ‘gangsters’ and have a rough personality, they have strong familial values and are religious.
I guess what I’m trying to say is that natural disasters don’t bother me much compared to human behaviour/lives.
