This may seem contradictory coming from someone who is big on respecting other people's spiritual beliefs but I draw the line at things that say that a person's personality or life is determined by something that they have literally no control over and that makes no sense when you think about it for even a moment. I think it's actually really shitty to say that someone is two-faced or manipulative or just generally untrustworthy because of what the sky looked like when they were born and I don't think it should be something that is tolerated as a serious thing to follow in your relationships.

Also astrology. It's going to give you a perspective you didn't think of before but it's not going to be something super-duper-extra-mega wow or accurate in a scientific way, like it's not something to be taken too seriously just like any sort of weird rambling, it's more like something to keep your mind busy when bored, because it's fun. Structured philosophical ideas are fun, even if all of them are mid and it's a matter of perspective if they make sense in a situation or not. Like yeah tarot and astrology are bad if you take them too seriously or use them in the wrong ways or situations, but everything is tbf.

The reason people are told "mundane before magic" is so they remember to do things like check whether they've got mold or carbon monoxide in their house before they decide the problem is a malevolent spirit, find out whether their health problems have a treatable medical cause before deciding they're cursed, and make sure they have a mechanic check their car once they hear funny noises instead of just casting a safety spell on it and calling it good. People get hurt if they neglect the mundane.

Day 6 of 28 days of tarot: I. The Magician

The spirit of this whitetail deer called to me more strongly than I’ve ever experienced before.

I was cold and tired, focused on navigating a rocky slope when heard a whitetail warning huff and looked up, expecting to see a deer standing above me. Instead I saw what I immediately knew was a skull way up the hill and felt a strong pull to climb up to meet them.

I often have to check myself when I find skulls, because sometimes the urge to bring them home is simply the urge of a collector. I sit with the bones and their spirit, and ask permission of them and the land. And I listen and respect whatever answer I’m given. I’ve left some beautiful skulls behind that I still think of longingly, but it was where they were meant to be.

This spirit felt so excited and lively, like they weren’t done exploring the world yet and they wanted to be taken away from the bleak, rocky hillside. Eager is not a word that I’d use to describe most deer spirits, but it’s the most fitting word for this one and I think I was meant to find them. It’s the fastest I’ve ever felt a connection with a spirit I’ve found. I’ll definitely be bringing them on some adventures!

A lot of "daily witchcraft" stuff just boils down to practicing basic mindfulness and self-awareness. That's not a bad thing. Like mysticism aside, yeah your little daily witchcraft practices are certainly going to yield good results if it's making you reflect on your emotions, identify your goals, analyze what food and drink you're putting in your body, ground yourself, and act with intention on a daily basis if you weren't doing it before.
