fun little music analysis for yall but thinking about the chord in just another day where they sing "it hurts when i sayyyyyy"
so heres a bit of the official score. diana is the pink line, gabe is orange, and dan and natalie are blue
i always knew that the "say" is a dissonant chord (aka it clashes) but looking at the score it made me See some Things
diana sings a C while natalie and dan sing a D which clash with each other. they dont typically fit into a chord together
but GABE on the other hand sings an A. which fits into a chord with diana's note (a C is a third above A so naturally they fit nicely together)
so the way that diana and gabe are the only ones with a regular harmony while dan and nat create dissonance with her is a very subtle but super cool way to indicate show diana's dissonance with her family and how diana and gabe exist together separate to the rest of the family. and i just think it's pretty neat
