why don't you agitate the contents of a barrel full of cream for a while then reach your hand inside and maybe you'll feel butter
Itβs been almost six years since I first watched Fantasy High and βYou are the tool through which the universe caresβ still hits. It has fundamentally changed the way I think about the world. Anytime I start to give into who cares nihilism, Brennan Lee Mulligan appears on my shoulder like a loud New Yorker angel and reminds me that I care and caring is what makes it important.
this truly is me about some people's takes on this godforsaken internet
a thing that i particularly love about the hunger games prequels is how it shows that people have been fighting against the games since their inception
when i was younger and read the original trilogy for the first time i was so bothered how it was 74 years of games, i remember thinking how could it have gone on so long without anyone doing anything
these prequels highlight that people have been fighting from the get-go: lucy gray's defiance, reaper ripping down panem's flags to cover the fallen tributes, haymitch's games and how many others shared his ideologies - the capitol just drowns them out, they rewrite their stories so their efforts are forgotten
liberation takes time and it's built upon the actions of those in the past
If i may add my input on the subject, i would like to talk about Feyre's pregnancy and the surrounding controversy.
While i completely understand the people who have felt upset about Rhysand and the others not telling Feyre, i also understand why they did not. As for the claims that Rhysand wanted an heir out of his mate, and did not care about her life, i think they are absolutely ridiculous.
Rhysand was the one to correct Feyre when she believed that she owed a child as a high lord's wife. He is the one who told her that she owes him nothing. He did not have to do that when she already believed she had no choice. Rhysand made sure Feyre knew she ALWAYS had a choice.
Furthermore, the risk was not only to Feyre's life but also to the child's. Rhys would have lost the two most important beings in his life. He did not have a personal gain in this.
While i do not fully support the fact that he did not tell her, by the time he discovered the risks there was nothing Feyre could do about them. Even if she decided to nullify the pregnancy, at the stage she was in she would have still had to go through the process which could kill her. We are also aware of the consequences excessive stress can have on pregnancy.
Rhysand was trying his best to bear the burden until he found a solution. If he had thought there was a slight possibility that Feyre could solve the issue, he would have obviously told her right away. Maybe he didn't do the right thing, maybe it would have been better if she knew. But he never did what he did out of malice. He never had anything but love towards his wife. And even Madja advises him to not mention it until until later.
He begs on his knees for Helion to help, while the rest of the inner circle looks for answers. Rhysand's whole world is Feyre. I do not believe he would choose to live on if he lost her.
I think it is important that we remember that Rhysand and Feyre are the reason why the series succeeded. Their love is the beginning and end of these books. Those who know them, know their hearts are good.
Anyway, sorry for the rant, but i needed to say this for my sanity.
the wicked movie teaches important moral lessons like "be bisexual in college" and "don't trust politicians" and "if you push someone who's in a wheelchair without their permission, someone might throw a bench at your head with their mind"
why didnβt gandalf just carry the ring to mordor himself with these tongs
like iβm picturing him being really careful and looking at it and carrying it exactly like this while walking or riding through the woods and across rivers and up mountains and through valleys and he doesnβt drop it even once except at the very end where he tidily drops it into the volcano. frodo sam and the crew and even gollum wholly undisturbed. sauron canβt find him bc of the meditative aura surrounding him which is generated by his immense focus on not dropping it
World's most tense egg and spoon race
this somehow became the funniest thing on earth in my head and I had to draw it so
My roman empire is that people forget that Feyre was attracted to Rhys IMMEDIATELY, before she saw anything good in him. In ACOFAS, she admits she wanted him even UTM. In other words, she saw him at his CoN-est, was in love with Tam, and still couldn't help herself. So, she and Rhys don't have such a complicated, ambivalent relationship for so long because Rhys is morally grey. They have a complicated relationship because Feyre doesn't know how to rationalize caring about someone who's so morally grey. ACOMAF isn't about Feyre suddenly thinking Rhys is a saint. ACOMAF is about her coming to accept and respect Rhys because, after her own experiences UTM, she identifies with and understands his moral ambiguity. Whether or not she and Rhys are equally morally dubious is a different conversation, but basically, accepting and loving Rhys is also Feyre loving and accepting herself.
@thesistersarcheron you can't leave this masterpiece in the tags!!!!
I know I'm strong, and I know I can handle anything that's thrown at me, but FUCK dude. why are people throwing things at me

The thought that Brucie Wayne and Batman being two completely separate entities that Bruce can code switch between has consumed me especially with the idea that he mixes the two together on occasion to fuck with people

Superman: What about this thing, it looks suspicious?
Batman *full Batman voice*: Thatβs an eyelash curler darling

Green Arrow: Your turn Bats, who are you?
Batman having decided to fuck with him walking up to him cocking his hip putting one hand on his chest and in full Brucie Wayne mode: Cβmon Ollie-Dollie you know who I am. We dated π
Green Arrow (internally): Modem noise

Recently revealed identities with Clark and Brucie being at the same party
Brucie: oh howdy π€ cowboy, fancy meeting you at this shindig

*Bruce getting a call during a JLA meeting*
Brucie: Oh! hello dear, yes of course Iβm coming to your party Iβll see you later π
Batman: Our security measures need to be increased due to the number of criminals currently attempting to follow heroes to their base of operations
JLA *experiencing whiplash*: what.

βThereβs an assassin in the raftersβ shouldnβt be the funniest part of this post and yet is
My mom used to love to tell the story of how I learned to walk. I was late to walk, and then one day, simply got up and marched across the room because I wanted a hug from my oldest friend. So, I justβ¦walked. Because hug.
I am entirely heart-based. I donβt know any other way to be. And god help me, there were certainly years where I tried to be less that. Someone I deeply cared about made me feel terrible for caring so much, which was just me beingβ¦me. (And thatβs a story I will only tell over tequila.) And ouch. Because the funny thing about being heart-led is that you get hurt deeply, when things go sideways.
But I always return to center. I donβt have an insincere bone in my body. I joked the other day that I spent so much time trying to keep my heart from hurtling out of my mouth, and itβs true. Iβm not the type to play it cool or hard to get or whatever. Fuck that. (I'm really not hard to read if I care, sorry not sorry.)
I love people as much as they let me, and I adore the moment where I realize I can do just that. The times where I understand that not only is it okay, but welcome. It makes me happy, to be let in. To be there. To help. I spend my time on those who matter to me, and thatβs always deliberate.
I have always followed my heart, wherever it leads. And I realized the other day that I am still that little girl who walked across the room just to get a hug. But now I know how to drive, get on a train, or hop on a plane.
And I think that, more than anything else, that's a good thing.

I have something to say to all those who say Rhys in ACOSF is evil and they do not like him. In the end, everyone is entitled to their opinion, and I will not negate this, but there are a couple of things that they may not consider.
ACOSF is not told by Feyreβs perspective, or Rhysβ. We are getting Nestaβs point of view, and Cassianβs. One of the very first thing we learn about Rhys is that he presents himself in a very specific way: as a callous, vicious, cruel monster. This is is public persona, the mask he shows to pretty much anyone outside of the Inner Circle. The fact that Feyre manages to pierce through this screen is the key element in their relationship, her βsuperpowerβ, if you want. And Nesta, for almost the entirety of ACOSF, is well outside Rhysβ trusted circle. Rhys has tons of reasons not to like her, starting from her behaviour prior to Feyre going to Prythian for the first time, to her behaviour after the war, and her treatment of his brother, Cassian, whom he loves greatly and does not want to suffer. So Rhys is definitely not showing her the sweet, wounded side we fell in love with in ACOWAR etc. He is putting on his mask: he wants to protect his mate, his brother, and his court, and Nesta is an enemy.
Now, moving on to the pregnancy storyline. I HATE the pregnancy trope, so I was 100% pissed at all this. And my first thought was pretty much βyou dumb idiot, Rhys, is this foetusβ life worth more than your MATE?!?β. But. When he finds out about the risks of the pregnancy, it is well past the limits for a therapeutic abortion; the wings are there, there is no way of terminating the pregnancy without endangering Feyre. So what is left to do? Find a solution. And while they all look for a solution, Feyre must be kept safe and calm, sparing her from any distress. I do not blame him for choosing silence as his tactic. Neither does Nesta: she initially agrees to keep her sister in the dark. She only tells her in a fit of rage, which is understandable, but not excusable, or explainable as an attempt to help Feyre.
I feel like despite all this, Rhysβ soft side is still well represented in ACOSF in Cassianβs chapters. The moment in which Rhys tells his brother about the pregnancy risks is very touching, and so is the whole birth scene. From Cassianβs eye we can still see the sweet Rhys, although through different eyes. Cassian cares deeply about his High Lord, but he also look up to him in a way Feyre (our eyes and ears fir most of the story) does not.
So to conclude my tirade, I still love Rhys very much, even in the last book. It is still my Rhys β€οΈ
Ok this will be my last rant on ACOTAR. I said everything I wanted to, and I feel the TOG obsession taking roots.
Feyre: it's my wedding day
Rhys: Nuh uh
Feyre: THE FUCK YOU MEAN NUH UH?
A man goes to see his Rabbi in a panic, and he gets there and he says, βRabbi youβll never guess what! My son has run away to become a Christian!β And the Rabbi responds, βWell youβll never guess what! My son has also run away to become a Christian!β So the man asks the Rabbi what to do and the Rabbi says that they should pray to G-d. So they pray and tell him of their plight and G-d replies, βYouβll never guess what!β
- An old Hasidic joke that my Dad likes to tell me
An old Jewish lady ducks into a church one night during a sudden rain shower. The priest comes in while sheβs waiting out the rain and says, βyou canβt be here, we donβt allow your kind in here.β
So the lady stands up and grabs the baby jesus statue from their nativity scene and says, βcome along bubbala, you heard the man, we arenβt allowed in hereβ
-my grandmotherβs favorite joke
A rabbi goes to see his friend the bishop. βListen,β he says, βthereβs something Iβve never quite understood about the Catholic church. itβs hierarchical, right?β
βRight,β says the bishop.Β
βSo,β says the rabbi,Β βif you do a really great job as a bishop, you might becomeβ¦what?β
βWell,β says the bishop,Β βif Iβm fortunate, I might become an archbishop.β
βAnd if you do a really great job as an archbishop?β
βI suppose, someday, I could even be a cardinal.β
βAnd if you do a really great job as a cardinal?β
βI guess after that I could, theoretically, become the Pope.β
βAnd if you do a really great job as the Pope?β
βWhat would you expect me to become after the Pope?β says the bishop, whoβs starting to get a little annoyed. βGod Himself?β
The rabbi shrugs.Β βWell,β he saysΒ βone of our boys made it.βΒ
I know another one.
One night at a nunnery the nuns are woken by loud singing and drunken revelry. They look and see its some Jews celebrating one thing or another just outside.
βYou canβt be here!β The nuns say angrily. βThis is disrespectful, donβt you know we are the brides of Christ?β
βoh, then thatβs no issue, weβre from the groomβs side!β
I guess all Jewish dads are the sameπ
