I posted a poll ages ago asking folks what power ring Rumi (KPDH) would have and since then I've periodically been working on a fanfic where... hold onto your seats... gets a power ring. Specifically, an Indigo ring (compassion/empathy). Maybe I'll post it, maybe I won't. Maybe it will be Polytrix or maybe not (love it just don't know if I can fit it in lowkey).
Yell at me to write it I guess.
Dewitttttt
Also, Indigo is an interesting choice. Because while you can be chosen because youâre a compassionate person, most indigos are forcibly given rings because they are criminals/murderers/horrible people, and the ring forces them to feel empathy for those they harmed, and do penance.
I would argue that Jinu would be a much better indigo, since he has something in his past he is extremely guilty about, that he feels has damned him irrevocably.
Personally, I like throwing the kindest and sweetest characters into the Sinestro Corps.
Because remember, the Sinestro Corps isnât about having great fear, itâs about instilling great fear.
And Rumi, out of all the members of Huntrix, has the ability to instill great fear. Fear in her fans, fear in Celine, and fear in her friends.
Often, Sinestro corps members have abilities separate to their rings that make them deadly figures in their own rights, and with the ability to scream so loud, sheâd rip the Honmoon in two, Rumi would fit right in.
As for the others, Iâd argue that Mira deserves to become a star sapphire. Homegirl is the fakest IDGAFer on the planet. She loves Rumi, Zoey (and to a lesser extent their fans and Bobby) so much, and while sheâd never admit it, the ability to tether herself across the universe to her true loves would be something she would treasure.
Zoey would also qualify as a star sapphireâŠbut a) thatâs too obvious for her, and b) sheâs American. She gets to be a Green Lantern. Thereâs like 8 fucking human lanterns at this point and almost all of them are American.
âShe has the ability to overcome great fear-â yeah and she now has the ability to create a Glock with her mind. Fuck the Honmoonâs âno gunsâ policy, Zoey gets to be a GL.
âŠokay FINE, and ALSO Green Lanterns are all about âwillpowerâ which is the ability to overcome great fearâŠwhich also includes anxiety. Jessica Cruz, one of the newest lanterns, has crippling anxiety and PTSD from a traumatic event when she was younger, and her ability to overcome that is the EXACT reason why she was chosen to be a GL.
Canonically, it is easier for a Green Lantern to use their powers to lift a goddamn continent than it is for her to get the willpower to overcome her anxiety/depression and get out of bed.
And frankly, short of Rumiâs anxiety about her heritage (which is more self loathing), I think Zoey actually has the most anxiety on the team. Sheâs constantly (and rightly tbh) terrified of being abandoned and left behind by everyone else.
But she still wears her heart on her sleeve, being loved requires submitting yourself to the mortifying ordeal of being known, and I think thatâs the kind of courage that makes an amazing Green Lantern.
(Also Zoey could be a blue lantern, IE hope, for the same reason. Itâs also a healer class and canât offensively fight without a green lantern so that would work for her too)
