What to do if you find a baby bunny.
Patreon | Mailing list
If you have baby bunnies in your yard where you let your dogs loose, you can put a laundry basket over the nest while your dogs are outside! Mama normally feeds her kids at dawn and dusk, so you won't be preventing her from accessing her babies. Don't move a nest!! mama is stupid!
Collins is gone.
Namaygoosisagagun First Nation/Collins has burned to the ground. The entire community is nothing but ashes after being quickly consumed by wildfires. They did not have any support from emergency services, and no one offered aid. The community saved themselves by escaping into boats because no one came.
Mishkeegogamang and Cat Lake have lost power. Families are ending up in shelters with nothing. Armstrong, Lac La Croix, Whitesand, Gull Bay, Lac des Mille Lacs are currently in the fires path and all members are being evacuated.
All this loss, all this devastation, and it was entirely preventable.
After steadily underfunding wildland firefighting and purposefully excluding Indigenous wildland firefighters and Indigenous wildfire organizations from wildfire operations, firefighter training, decisionmaking, and resource exchanges, in 2025, Doug Ford slashed the forest firefighting budget.
It's hard to ignore his decision to cut funding and leave us out of adequate fire training (even though we've lived with forest fires for thousands of years—far longer than settlers have been in Canada—and made sure fires like the ones we're all seeing today were prevented through kinisitotēn) when, despite making up less than 5% of the population, we account for 42% percent of all wildfire evacuations in Canada.
And when we are successfully evacuated, we face discrimination and racism—like Kashechewan—because it's always been easier to blame us than it is to blame the true culprit: denialism, corportate greed, and colonization.
The people of Collins and every other impacted community deserve better.
Right now, the AFN is currently accepting donations to help Collins First Nation. If you're able to, please consider donating.
ONWA (Ontario Native Women's Association) is another great place to donate to. They have outreach vans going to motels and inns and offering food, water, resources, and cultural support to those impacted by the wildfires.
Other places to consider donating to are Mikinakoos Emergency Fund, Red Cross, True North Aid, Indigenous Climate Action. You can also send donations directly to Whitesand First Nation via e-transfer ([email protected]) and they request that you add your full name in the e-transfer comment section to receive a tax receipt.
*Before sending money, verify that the appeal appears on an official First Nation, Tribal Council or registered charity channel.
If you can't offer financial support, please consider donating items of need. Moontime Connections is currently accepting drop-off donations. If you live in the Thunder Bay area, Namaygoosisagagun Health Office is also taking in donations! They can also bemailed to Superior Inn Hotel & Conference Centre at 555 West Arthur Street, Thunder Bay, ON, P7E 5P8.
items needed are: food, diapers, medical masks, men’s and women’s joggers (all sizes), children’s clothing (newborn to size 14), children’s shoes, summer clothing, men’s clothing, toiletries (lotion, Vaseline, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, conditioner, soap, deodorant, etc.), strollers, adult depends-all sizes, dog & cat food

literally her appointment is as a sort of eulogy to him. now that's what I call representative government
The South Carolina governor chose the senator's little sister to serve out the rest of his term after Graham's death on Saturday.
The sister of US Senator Lindsey Graham will serve as his temporary replacement after the South Carolina lawmaker died from an aortic tear on Saturday. Darline Graham Nordone was formally chosen by South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster on Monday, who introduced her as Graham's "darling little sister" who would "finish his work for him now". "It is such an honour. Lindsey has always been there for me and now I will be there for him," Nordone said. The announcement came after officials, including President Donald Trump called for Nordone to serve as his replacement in a "tribute" to the senator, who never married and had no children. Graham was close with his sister, who he legally adopted after their parents died while they were young. There is a long tradition of family members replacing lawmakers when they die, to finish the term. According to the US House of Representatives in 2025, 45 widowed women have directly succeeded their late husbands in Congress - 38 in the House and eight in the Senate. McMaster said she would serve out the remainder of Graham's term, which is set to end in 2027. [...] Graham and his sister lost their parents at a young age, with both their mother and father dying within 15 months of each other. Graham was 22 at the time, and his sister was 13. She lived with family members, maintaining a close relationship with Graham as he studied law and served in the Air Force. [...] Graham later adopted her, telling journalists it was so that she would receive his military benefits should anything happen to him. She has been at his side throughout his political career. Graham even suggested previously that she would serve as his first lady if he were elected president. She has never previously held public office. Neither she nor the governor said whether she will campaign for the full six-year Senate term, or just serve temporarily until January 2027.
honestly their relationship & the entire fact about how many widowed women have done this is kind of fascinating. but even if you believe that the statist system of elections is "real democracy" this should be a questionable tradition
hey uh seems weird there wasn’t a vote to replace him and instead one of his family members did like we live in a dictatorship or something??
Okay, see, that’s one of the least weird things about all this. In most states, the governor is allowed to appoint people to temporarily fill elected positions should the seat become vacant due to death, resignation or other circumstances. This is, emphatically, temporary: the seat is only filled for either the remainder of term, or until a special election can be held, which is often done within six weeks of the emergency appointment. I’m a SC resident, and I’m fairly certain that Graham’s seat isn’t any different: he was already up for reelection this year anyway, and I’m pretty sure there might be a special election held in a few weeks to fill his position if necessary. Filling the seat is largely treated as ceremonial, since under normal circumstances the appointee wouldn’t be allowed to hold the seat for longer than a couple of months, but this case is getting more scrutiny because 1.) the appointee is literally Graham’s only close relative, with the appointment being treated like a memorial to Graham instead of an impartial political seat, and 2.) Republicans have been exploiting a lot of the procedures around appointments lately in order to try and maintain their grip on the government, and some folks think that they only put Graham’s sister up so that all of the “Vote Graham” signs around the area won’t confuse inattentive voters who then wouldn’t vote for the chosen candidate in the election proper. It’s a whole mess, but the appointment process itself isn’t actually the problem here
Just watched Adam Conover (of Adam Ruins Everything) make such a solid point that I think we should spread far and wide. Yes, having AI write your emails is lazy, sure, but people love being lazy. We need to really emphasize that sending AI emails (or using AI responses on social media, or publishing AI flyers, or or or) is rude.
It's rude. You're making someone take their time to read something you couldn't bother to write. You're telling them they were so unimportant you couldn't be bothered to actually take the time to say something yourself. And frankly, you're lying about it while you're at it.
It's rude.
It's not just rude to make me read something you didn't want to write. It is that you expect me to respond to your email written by Claude. You don't even want me to talk to you. You want me to talk to Claude so that you can make Claude respond for you. It is rude to expect me to talk to a chatbot when I wanted to talk to you.
Can anyone explain wtf is going on here especially a Korean speaker

I really needed to rewatch this task.
S19Ep6.
Teach the Taskmaster's Assistant a lesson he'll never forget.
"Thank you for being my canvas."
Today's QPR is: Real Men Alex Horne and Greg Davies (Taskmaster)
Why is this painting in Taskmaster look like that Y/N and CEO meme
Contestants naively start out chill and nice and progressively start getting irritated with Alex.
First couple of tasks they're like... ok... weird... ugh
At some point in the later stuff Alex will be like "hey just fyi..." and he'll be met with "oh fuck off"
odd little man isn’t he?
