following the many MANY discussions between me and @theyusufalkaysani about nile being a prince fan, here is the latest result: nickyâs original 1984 purple rain tour t-shirt found a new owner, along with these cool leather pants (andyâs), the purple rain jacket replica (joeâs) and these necklaces she found in a box under the bed (bookerâs). a cool twist out, some purple eye shadow, and the look is complete!Â
another one: nile organizes a secret halloween party for the team đ
Cobwebs hang from the ceiling, the glow in the dark kind that had gotten stuck in the fake snakes of her tiara, but had been worth the pain it was cleaning the mess up from her costume. The hotel room she had checked out for the week was a little more luxurious than their usual accommodations, Nile wanting to spare no expense as a thank you to her new family, her new whole family.Â
One thing she had learned of her older companions is that despite their claims of being reserved, all of them had told her stories of the parties they would attend on vacation, and while most had been for business over pleasure, all of them had been increasingly wild. In long terms, they were well-lived individuals with unique lifestyles that had given them opportunities in which to have grandeur adventures.Â
In short terms?
They loved to fucking party.Â
While Nile had been to some great Halloween parties in the States, she had to make do with the fact that she knew her family couldnât completely relax around strangers and that meant her party would be toned down to the six of them. There wouldnât be questionable liquor in odd colors but there would be some decent pizza, or however decent pizza could be from Germany - it certainly couldnât beat the deep dish back in Chicago - and of course good company.Â
The decorations she ordered had come the night before, and she had spent most of the day alternating between tracking when the rest of her family would get there and preparing the room for a spooky night in. The idea was a surprise, a fun night in while they enjoy the rest of their short downtime between missions. Nile had been put in charge of going ahead and finding a hotel for the rest of them. The others all had rooms on the same floor and seeing that they had been separated for a few weeks it was tradition to have dinner together when they reunited.Â
When they got there, Nile predicted she would get some raised eyebrows at her being in a costume, but she hasnât gotten to properly dress up for Halloween in years and sheâs heard enough stories of various undercover shenanigans that they probably wouldnât mind, they might actually give her some pointers and that was a conversation Nile was looking forward to having.Â
Thereâs a knock at the door, Joeâs specific knock that she found both silly and endearing, and she adjusts her dress before crossing the room and opening the door.Â
Nile is greeted by a whole lot of chest and she has to blink because is that glitter?
âSurprise!â Joe says cheerfully, roller skating - yeah roller skating - into the room with an equally glittery Nicky in tow who is also rocking a pair of roller skates. The rest of their family falls behind the skating pair and Nile closes the door and blinks her surprise away.
All of them were wearing costumes.Â
âWhat-â
âWe wanted to celebrate Halloween with you properly,â Nicky explains, his sparkling fringed arms opened wide, showing off the expanse of his costume. He and Joe are in coordinating ABBA inspired roller disco getup. Joe is rocking a plunging yellow and white sleeveless jumpsuit. The sequences catch the light and the fringe on his pants moves slightly as he adjusts his balance on his roller skates. Thereâs body glitter on his chest and Nileâs eyes would keep staying on Joe if it werenât for Nickyâs equally loud costume. Where Joe was showing off his chest with his legs covered, Nicky was the opposite. His own jumpsuit ended in a pair of shorts, stopping midthigh in a sparkling tight dark blue color and went up stopped all the way to his collar bone, his sleeves fringed like Joeâs pants. The two were sparkly and loud and casually rolling through the hotel room with an ease that spoke of many hours roller skating.Â
The others were more subdued. Quynh was wearing a long red dress, a dramatic slit up one side revealing a fishnet lined leg in a pair of black heels. Her long hair was pulled and curled to one side, the other side revealing two fake puncture wounds. She made a good vampire, and Andy was the handsome pirate paired with her. Her own costume all separate pieces that Nile had seen Andy wear before but when paired with what she suspected was one of Joeâs shirts opened wide she looked like a dashing deadly lady of the sea. A sword - Nile hoped was fake - finished her look and Quynh and Andy, while not as eye-catching as Joe and Nicky, were breathtaking as a pair.Â
Booker on the other hand?
âWhat are you dressed up as again?â Nile asks, raising a brow at Bookerâs usual appearance.Â
âI kind of forgot so I picked this up at the gas station on the way here-â Booker pulls a cowboy hat from the plastic bag in his arms and puts it on. âHowdy.âÂ
Joe snorts and the two start bickering, Quynh adding in her own commentary as Andy watches on fondly. Nicky skates to be by her side, pulling out a fake cobweb from her hair with a fond smile.Â
âRemind me not to look at you directly in your eyes,â Nicky remarks on Nileâs own Medusa costume. The deep green of her Grecian dress was interwoven with gold threads that shimmered as she moved. Her own neckline wasnât as plunging as Joeâs but Nileâs smooth skin was on display. A gold snake was around her neck and another was banded on her bicep. Her look was finished with a snake tiara and dramatic green and gold makeup, scales painted on her face carefully around her hairline.Â
âI thought I was going to actually surprise you guys this time,â Nile admits, smiling softly. âThough I suppose it's hard to surprise people that are centuries older than I.â
They quickly eat dinner, their topics going back and forth from what made good pizza and their plans to hit a very exclusive Halloween masquerade that Booker of all people had gotten them into. Andy had a bag of masks for all of them to wear and it was agreed that as long as they didnât make too much of a scene - this was followed with a fond smile in Quynhâs direction, and if they agreed to keep their masks on they could let loose for a night.Â
The team had wanted to do something special for Nile, remembering how much she had enjoyed Halloween back in her first life, and Nile could not cry with her makeup at the thought, but it was a near thing.Â
#i was thinking about this and it really only works with joe because nicky wouldnât make petty practical jokes, heâs more the âwake you up in the middle of the night with an ominous sounding message that will male you question your entire lifeâ type
Andy is older than the pyramids, that's so crazy. I can just see Nile getting excited, like "So how did they do it? What's the answer?" And Andy just shrugs like "How should I know? I'm not a builder. One day I went to Egypt and there they were!" "You didn't ask anybody?!" "I was in the middle of a war, Nile, I wasn't about to ask for construction tips."
headcanon andy was always in the wrong place at the wrong time and every time nile asks about an important historical event, she just shrugs and goes âit was just a normal day for meâ. âi was fighting warsâ. âi was severely hungoverâ.
nonchalant uncaring andy but for shits and giggles
Hi! Can I request #8 or 20 of the enemies to lovers prompts for Joe and Nicky? Hope you have a nice weekend! đ¤đ
Nara!!! I am so sorry this took me so long. Thank you so much for these prompts đđđ I went with a modern au (dance au!), hope you like it.
#8: How do I know I can trust you?
#20: Why are you always on my mind when I donât even like you?

When Joe joined the Scythian Ballet Company he expected some animosity, sure, professional dancers are competitive by nature. But he did not expect the outright hatred that he seemed to have inspired in the principal dancer, Nicolò.
It had started in a subtle way. During rehearsals, Nicolò would take the best spot in the room, blocking the mirrorâand sometimes, standing right in front of Joeâ. At first, Joe had tried not to react. He was the newcomer, maybe it was some sort of initiation, maybe it was all in his head. It took just a couple of weeks for Joe to realize he was not imagining things.
No matter how hard he tried, his very presence seemed to irritate Nicolò. Eventually, Joe just stopped trying to be nice to him, and in fact made every effort to annoy Nicolò in return, going as far as arriving one hour early to class just to take the bratty principal dancerâs favorite spot. Obviously, this didnât help to mend their relationship at all.
There were days when Joe actually questioned his decision to leave his old dance schoolâhis home, his countryâto be where he wasnât wanted. âIâm doing this for Andy, she believes in me,â he would tell himself whenever he felt like quitting.
âNicky can be stubborn, but heâs a great guy and a superb dancer,â Andy told Joe when he confided in her. âGive him time.â
Joe gave it a few more weeks but nothing changed, at best they ignored each other, at worst they would start arguments about proper technique or who had messed up during warmup.
As a last resort, Andy had separated them. It helped in a way, Joe supposed. They couldnât fight if they werenât in the same room. As relieved as Joe was, there was a part of him that missed Nicky. âWhy are you always on my mind when I donât even like you?â Joe asked himself, he didnât understand why. Still, Joe would catch himself picturing how Nicky would do a certain sequence, or the things he would say if he saw Joe made a mistake. Whenever this happened, Joe rolled his eyes at himself, what was this?
Late one evening, just as Joeâs last rehearsal session of the day was wrapping up and he was ready to go home he heard a frustrated groan from another classroom. His curiosity got the best of him and he opened the door, thinking he could help whoever it was. It was Nicky.
âHi,â Joe said in a low voice. âMay I?â
âHi.â Nicky nodded. He was sitting on the floor in front of the mirror wall, biting his lip.
Joe went inside and closed the door behind him. âWhatâs wrong?â
Nicky shook his head. âThis song, I just donât get it.â He looked away. âAnd I think I just sprained my ankle.â
Joe sat down beside him and they stayed there in silence for a while. Nicky sighed and muttered, âyou can laugh now.â
âWhy would I laugh?â Joe asked, genuinely taken aback.
Nicky shrugged. âYouâre here to take my place, arenât you? Now you can.â
âIs that why you hate me?â
âI donât hate you, IâŚâ
âIâm not here to take your place, Nicky,â Joe interrupted, realizing that many of the things he had interpreted as hostile were probably due to a big misunderstanding. âAndy brought me here to dance with you.â
Nicky raised his head and looked at Joeâs reflection in the mirror. âHow do I know I can trust you?â
âYou wonât know.â Joe stood up and offered Nicky a hand. âIf you donât dance with me.â
And dance together they did, from that day on. Learning how to be together was not easy. Fighting the urge to yell at each other, letting snide remarks slide first, and then turning them into constructive criticism and even praise; building trust step by step, and then something more. When Andy asked them if the kiss they shared onstage had been real, Joe and Nicky just smiled, holding hands.
In a modern au, the Immortalsâ career closest to canon would certainly be the military (*cries in tog US military propaganda*) but imagining them as stuntmen? Unparalleled serotonin.
This was inspired by their cast photos on set, but the energy of them eating lunch together and Joe goes: âHabibi you have still some fake blood on your cheek,â and them bonding over the ridiculous requests of their actor counterparts?
â˘Nile is the new one who is even more reckless than Andy, and she may get into acting if everything goes according to her plan.
â˘Booker hates the entire industry but heâs also very requested because he is the stuntman for half of the white men in action movies.
â˘Andy and Quáťłnh worked in all the major action franchises until one of them punched Scientology Poster Boy Tom Cruise in the face. Andy wants to retire but she also loves her job a lot, plus this time sheâs working with her favourite colleagues.
â˘Nicky was initially a mystery because he didnât like speaking English but he bonded with Joe during a job on a historical movie with the worst costume design of all time (âGod, it was itchy in al the wrong places.â âDonât remind me.â), and they became friends when they both refused to work in unsafe conditions.
â˘Nickyâs concept of fun is rock climbing, hikes and camping. Joe adapts until he misses civilisation and drags his husband and Andy back home
â˘Quáťłnh retired but she is so much happier at her new job, she gets to kick people for real<3 itâs cathartic
â˘they know so many famous people but they do not give a shit. Nicky and Joe have various autographs and paraphernalia around the house that would make them rich but they usually sell stuff just to give money to charities. This is the au version of all the art/historical stuff Joe keeps around because heâs sentimental. âI wonât separate from this. This fake blood was the first fake blood we shared.â âThat is kind of disgusting.â âYou have no idea of what real romance is, Booker.â
â˘there is a blackmail folder with photos of the gang when they did a movie like 300. Much naked oiled skin was involved
â˘They cannot watch a movie without pointing out all the technical inaccuracies and effects. Nile says they canât be exported as friends because everyone hates their commentary, and sheâs right
â˘they keep track of all the injuries in a notebook called âAndyâs list of bad ideas for immortalityâ. Sheâs leading because she has been doing this the longest but Joe is the first in all the window related categories, which are more than one would expect but it is all part of the job
