Youâve heard of the Roaring 20s........
now get ready for the Screaming 20s - coming to a decade near you in 2020
is it too early or can we start screaming now
in retrospect perhaps we should have started sooner
this post is the equivalent of a newspaper from the day of the outbreak being blown past by the wind after you wake up in a post apocalyptic world
I absolutely adore dogs but I think dog haters are (usually) more justified than cat haters wrt their reasoning
your average cat hater: I don't like how they r bitchy and ignore me/ won't let me manhandle them
your average dog hater: I have been mortally endangered by an ill-trained dog
I wanted to reply to this, but replies are restricted. This is down to poor caretaking of domestic cats. None of this is a reason to be fearful of cats. Cats who are indoors only or leashed/on a catio outside are harmless to wildlife. And they are safer that way too. They wonât get in fights with other cats, or mauled by a dog, hit by a car, or killed by a coyote. Keep your cats indoors or leashed. Same with dogs, tbh. Let your dog run free in a rural area or in a fenced in yard. But donât let them roam in the city or suburbs.
People pleaser flaws!!
Ëâ⎠Changing their opinion mid-sentence because someone's face shifted
Ëâ⎠Laughing at something that made them uncomfortable to keep the peace
Ëâ⎠Never sending food back even when it's genuinely wrong
Ëâ⎠The resentment that builds silently because they never just said no
Ëâ⎠Agreeing to things and hoping they get cancelled so they don't have to
Ëâ⎠Shrinking their own needs down until they're not even sure what they are
Ëâ⎠The carefully worded text that took forty minutes to seem casual
Ëâ⎠Feeling personally responsible for everyone else's emotional temperature
Ëâ⎠Complimenting someone back immediately because receiving one felt dangerous
Ëâ⎠Saying what someone wants to hear and hating themselves a little for it
Ëâ⎠Noticing they have no idea what they actually like anymore
Ëâ⎠The exhaustion of monitoring every reaction in every room at all times
Ëâ⎠Volunteering for things no one asked them to do to feel worthy of being there
Ëâ⎠Being so easy to be around that no one thinks to ask if they're okay
Ëâ⎠Adjusting their personality slightly for every single person they know
Ëâ⎠The anger that only comes out sideways because it had nowhere else to go
Ëâ⎠Apologizing to furniture they walked into
Ëâ⎠Needing to be needed as a substitute for feeling genuinely wanted
Ëâ⎠Realizing they've been performing themselves for so long they forgot the original
This is just a list of things Iâm in therapy for.
What helped me write trauma better is remembering that the nervous system learns predictions. If danger used to come after quiet, calm can feel threatening. If kindness used to come with a price, kindness can feel suspicious. So healing is not just âthey know theyâre safe now.â Healing is the slow, annoying, deeply unfair process of teaching the body that the old prediction is not always the present truth.
âThe AP has just posted a detailed investigation into the background of David Brouillette, the recently hired ICE agent who shot and killed Johan SebastiĂĄn DurĂĄn Guerrero in Maine. Itâs genuinely horrifying on more levels than are easy to describe. Brouillette was hired during ICEâs recent hiring spree, as the agency attempted to rapidly staff up to manage a program of mass deportation. Brouillette has a long history of severe mental illness, a lengthy history of violence against at least two wives as well as his children, stalking, a seemingly endless list of restraining orders, violent threats against other family members and more. According to one relative, Brouillette was diagnosed with severe bipolar disorder as a child as well as attention deficit disorder, twice tried to commit suicide at age 12 and was hospitalized multiple times. These early issues appear to have been compounded by service in the military and deployments to Afghanistan which left him with an increased propensity to violence as well as PTSD. A relative told the AP, âThey took someone who was extremely mentally ill and turned him into a killing machine.ââ

A Must Read and Truly Horrifying Story - TPM â Talking Points Memo
ICE can not be reformed, it must be abolished. These thugs can not be redeemed, they must be prosecuted.
I saw an interview with one ex-wife who said he asked her to lie about his character. She bravely refused and instead talked about his abuse.
why is everyone just accepting the mitch mcconnell photo as like. a real photo that was taken on July 12th. refusing to provide proof of life until Lindsey graham suddenly died is already suspicious as fuck and no video or like hostile witnesses or whatever is even MORE suspicious. like they could literally just let andy beshear visit him in the rehab facility he's definitely recovering in and that would immediately dispel any doubt. and yes I know that there's no "digital evidence" that the photo was ai generated but there's more than one way to fake a photo so??? why are we not doing any investigative journalism here????? why are major news outlets saying it was an invasion of privacy to demand proof of life from a senator who disappeared for a month after an ambulance showed up at his house???? what the fuck is happening here?????? is this hell???? am I in hell??????
Can I just say, the "Weekend at Bernie's" plot but with Mitch McConnell and our Republicans was not on my bingo card...
wtf do you mean they even provided a "proof of life" newspaper in this "photo"
I won't believe it until I get legit proof. This man is so dead, and the people under his representation are being denied representation rn. Until proven otherwise. It is fucked up, but also so ridiculous I cannot help but stress laugh.
It feels like a trial run for Rump, but then I remember how insane we get when heâs quiet for three days. It wouldnât work for him. So, itâs probably just in McConnellâs will to obstruct democracy one more time in death.
Big Oil poisons our politicians. Our planet is on the brink. It's time to rescind the subsidies and push out all opponents of green and renewable energy.
The upside is we live.
SERVICE DOG PSA
So today I tripped. Fell flat on my face, it was awful but ultimately harmless. My service dog, however, is trained to go get an adult if I have a seizure, and he assumed this was a seizure (were training him to do more to care for me, but we didnât learn I had epilepsy until a year after we got him)
I went after him after I had dusten off my jeans and my ego, and I found him trying to get the attention of a very annoyed woman. She was swatting him away and telling him to go away. So I feel like I need to make this heads up
If a service dog without a person approaches you, it means the person is down and in need of help
Donât get scared, donât get annoyed, follow the dog! If it had been an emergency situation, I could have vomited and choked, I could have hit my head, I could have had so many things happen to me. Weâre going to update his training so if the first person doesnât cooperate, he moves on, but seriously guys. If whatâs-his-face could understand that lassie wanted him to go to the well, you can figure out that a dog in a vest proclaiming it a service dog wants you to follow him
"I want children to suffer" is the ultimate flex by red-pilled conservative anti-feminist dorks who are equally racist when screeching about birth rates dropping.
No child should ever go hungry. Every meal at school should be free, even for those whose family could afford it because it would remove the stigma of getting a free lunch. I would much prefer my tax dollars go to feeding children than war and killing children in Gaza.
Netflixâs version of Little House On the Prairie:
Yay or Nay?
My mother said it doesnât look good sĂł ahe wonât be watching it. I donât know about me.
I love the Original and I donât know how they will change this version but I know they will in some way.
I enjoyed it. While it does not perfectly address the Native genocide as settlers moved west, it at least addresses it and gives Osege characters their own scenes. I wonât spoil, but one scene with a Osege elder gave me chills. And not in a âNative giving wisdom to a white personâ way, but in a âfuck you white manâ way.
I only vaguely remember the og series as I havenât watched it since I was a child. I feel like the characterization of the Ingalls was consistent with the og. iPhone face was minimal. lol
It has been renewed for season two already as well.
