Vader marched through the Imperial Palace. His master had a new assassin that he wanted trained and ordered Vader to oversee it. Vader wondered why she wasn’t being trained with the Inquisitors, then he realized, this assassin was to be special. He opened the door of the room she was in, recognizing it as Yoda’s old meditation room, and just stood in the entryway, letting his breathing fill the room.
@caped-sith-lord
“Why the Kriff are you here?” The voice is strident, Snippy. That of an annoyed teenager.
She turns around from where she’s working on her saber.
“Well?” She crosses her arms over her chest. Her eyes are far too hard for any teenage girl’s.
But probably typical knowing who raised her.
Vader looked at her. He said nothing as his breathing continued to fill the room. He then held his hand out and what she’s made of her lightsaber flew into his hand. “Impressive craftsmanship.” He allowed, looking at it closely. “However, the power cell is unaligned by .3 microns. Just enough to cause it to explode when activated.”
“The Emperor ordered me to oversee your training young one.” He explained holding her lightsaber out to her.
“Yeah? Well I could sense your hesitation from the second floor. Your division of self threw me off. What are you afraid of younglings or something? Surprising considering your past.” She snaps. Yoinking her saber back with the force to make the adjustment. She fiddles either it for a moment or
“Well… what training did you have in mind?” She asks as she ignites her purple lightsaber. She glares at him. But smiles though it doesn’t reach her eyes.
“The Dark Side, and the seven lightsaber forms.” Vader told her, ignoring her jab about the younglings. Honestly he could feel Skywalker in the back of his mind stirring, this girl reminded him of Skywalker’s apprentice.
She cocks her head to the side. “Hmm… okay.” She puts her saber back into its holster after deactivating it.
There’s another flood of annoyance and then a tinge of abandonment. Which is palpable in the room.
“So where do we start Vader?” She asks.
“Show me what you know.” He said activating his lightsaber, keeping a one handed grip on it with the blade pointed downward.
“Oh I know lots of things. Mostly because I listen when other people think I don’t.” She replies lighting her saber.
“But there’s always something you can learn from people. That’s another thing I know.” She says as she paces the room.
She wiggles her fingers and a few tubes inside of his suit disconnect.
“Don’t blame me for levelling the playing field. I know you don’t fight fair either.”
“If my master sent you here there’s something he wants me to learn. And knowing you…. Alright… how did it feel? Being in love? Though I suppose you still are now. I met her once. She was kind.” She says softly.
She swings at him.
“That’s one thing I think I’ll never know. I’m not enough a fool to think our master loves me. I’m not sure he’s able. I’m not sure I would be able to love him back if I did. But I am curious.” She shrugs as she easily blocks one of his strikes.
He could feel the cable uncoupling and sliding out of place before his respirator turns off. He’s now wheezing very loudly. Focusing the Dark Side to move and attack. “Impressive.” He wheezed getting close to her, his voice barely louder than a whisper, his enunciator also disabled.

Merci was pleased that she had at least managed to get rid of one of the inquisitors. Mind you she had killed Jedi before.
But a sense of dread settled in her heart as she was bound and tossed into an interrogation room.
At least they hadn’t taken off her helmet. She would die with Honour and dignity. And she would go down fighting.
This was the way.
She would join her father in the stars soon. A thought that despite everything. Gave her peace. She wanted to go out fighting so she would be able to tell him how brave she was.
She glared through her visor as the door opened.
“B'epa slaat bal ramaana.” She growled.
@a-merciful-end
Suddenly a massive amount of weight pressed down on her, forcing her flat onto the interrogation table. “Careful who you say that to, Mandalorian.” Vader said, stepping out of the shadows. “Many would cut your tongue out for such an insult.”
She laughs. “You have no idea what I said do you?” She manages to get out of her squished lungs.
“My tounge’s not all I’ll fight you with you hu'tunn. Release me and see.”
“I think not.” Vader said, holding his forefinger an inch away from his thumb, and began choking her with the Force. “If you do not watch your mouth, Mandalorian, then we will simply eliminate you.” He promised before releasing his grip on her.
“Coward.” She wheezes.
“Do it. My ancestors are smiling on me. Can you say the same?”
“Ori'buyce, kih'kovid.” She translates into basic. “Big helmet, little head.”
Vader said nothing in response, he just stood where she can see him, letting the sound of his respirator fill the room. “We shall see about that.” He said, with a flick of his fingers, her helmet then went flying off her head.
She spits at him. Eyes full of fire. Her curly brown hair spilling onto the table.
“All you have is your blood. You will die without honour. And not even the darkness will take you.”
Vader’s breath catches. She looks just like… With a flick of his hand her bindings came undone. “Who are you?”
Well she wasn’t expecting that.
Her face hardens and she uses the force to tackle him to the ground.
“My name is Merci. And it with be the last thing on your lips.” She grabs for his saber.
Vader pushes her off with the force and suspends her in midair. “Who taught you to use the Force Merci? A Jedi?” He asked, thinking of Obi-Wan. “Whoever did left your training incomplete.”
“Nobody. I tried to suppress it. For years.” She replies. Straining at his hood on her.
“Let me go.”
Vader slowly rotated her, so that she’s upside down but still level with the lenses in his mask, and looked at her eyes. Almost exactly like Padmè’s, with a few slight differences. “Do you wish to use the Force as a more effective weapon?” He asked, reaching a decision.
She uses the force to slingshot her helmet at his head.
It stops mere inches from his head. “Clever. But sloppy.”
While he’s distracted by the incoming helmet she attempts to get into his head. Only managing to get a flicker of another woman with her face.
Panic floods her. What did it mean?
Vader slams her into the wall. “Do not do that again! Not if you value your life.” He almost roared, the room shaking a bit.
She lay on her side on the floor for a moment catching her breath.
“Is she dead?” She asks softly.
“…yes.” Vader answered simply, letting her see the vision he had of Padmè dying.
“I’m sorry… I understand loss.” she uses the force to grab and put on her helmet.
“But I’m not her.”
“You’re right. She didn’t join me. She allowed herself to be lied to by various Senators of the Republic, and by the Jedi. She died because of them. You however, I sense great potential within you. Join me, become my apprentice, and we can unlock this potential together.” He said holding his lightsaber hilt out to her.
She laughs at him.
“I’m not going to fall down the same path my mother did. I won’t join you. And I’m sorry I have your love’s face. But I’m not her. And if she didn’t join you and she knew you. Why would I join you now?”
Vader answered by activating his lightsaber.
“I don’t fear death. You have nothing to threaten me with. I have nobody left to lose.” She puts her arms up in a fighting stance.
“So send me home to my father.” As she shifts her weight a red kyber Crystal shifts around her neck.
Vader looked at the crystal. “A red kyber crystal…” he said thoughtfully deactivating his lightsaber. “The crystal of a Sith. Who was your father?”
Merci was pleased that she had at least managed to get rid of one of the inquisitors. Mind you she had killed Jedi before.
