Happy Calibration @caprichista! I was super happy to draw a fellow Exalted cat parent! I loved the salt references so wanted to have a go at Runai's salt ward anima banner and their version of Death of Obsidian Butterflies with the salt rimmed wings. I did some experiments with ink and salt for the texture. And had to include Salu of course. Some WIPs for fun:

Guys I was GIDDY with excitement when I realized the stick is how they figure out the standing-up perspective!!! I always figured people doing this stuff just had magical perspective powers but that makes SO MUCH SENSE what a cool tool!!! Amazing job!

Exalted Calibration Art Exchange 2024

My entrants for this year's Calibration Art Exchange are the earth-aspected student necromancer V'neef Runai and the changing moon artisan & interpersonal disaster Flickering Lace.

Here's the link to my journal entry from last year. Both of their games have now concluded so I have some updated art/info under the cut:

V'neef Runai:

Surprising no one but himself, Runai ended up with necromancy instead of sorcery and took Death of Obsidian Butterflies as his control spell. Their wings come out rimed with salt.

By the end of game, his anima banner had shifted to become lines of salt tracing a ward in the air behind/above him that never quite reaches completion.

Flickering Lace:

Lace started dating Shai Hadari, the Sandstorm Who Buries the Past and an exigent of the Southern Desert (above in the coat). This did nothing to lessen Lace's past-life/Solar bond-related interpersonal drama.

Lace also acquired expertise around entering other people's dreams and bringing other people along with her. This lead to her accidentally getting sorcery via entering the dreamscape of the party's pet raksha uninvited and now corrupted images of "a ratking made of weaverbirds" spontaneously appear in the background around her.
