EMERGENCY SIMPLE COLOR COMMISSIONS

Sadly when I went to the dentist this Monday to check a cavity filling that broke I got told I would have to get a root canal since the place I went before to get that cavity filled in did a bad job at removing the cavity and it was just growing but under the filling and might have gotten to my molars root nerves (sorry if this is really badly explained my English is not the best when it comes to medical terms and stuff) since I was already on a tight financial spot and wasn't expecting this I have like zero savings I decided to open emergency commissions until I save up $320 that should be enough to cover the procedure.

Extra characters are 75% of the original price! This batch might take a bit longer since I already have other commissions I'm working on. Also these will only be simple color ones cause I can't take too many full color commissions at once, but you can still commission one for the normal price (pinned) if you wish to help.

Flute/Music Ramble

I was listening to Disney in the car with my mother (as one does) and I just want y'all to know that I want to play Heaven's Light/Hellfire in an ensemble soooooooooooooooooooooo badly! Can you imagine?! The conductor cuts everyone off, tension is in the air as the audience holds their breath. Most of them know, some of them won't. Suddenly, a lone low brass, or maybe a few. The conductor counts off. One...two...three...four, downbeat! Low brass and timpani come in, probably loud as hell. Woodwinds have the other part that I can't explain without either singing it to you or something. Then the trumpets probably have the melody, or maybe a trombone if there are enough tubas and baritones to keep the baseline steady. Oh! The exercise in dynamics?! The conductor themselves? Passionate?! Moving?! Letting the music die out at the end right before the cut off?! I want it so bad! Just....*dreamy sigh*

More rambles because a local theatre is doing Hunchback and I'm in a different production so music is once again on the mind.

Here's a question for you: Do you see Hellfire as an unveiling of madness already there? Or do you see it as an unraveling?

I think how you answer the question affects the tone of how you choose to sing/play it. Like, I was listening to the Legacy (remastered basically) version of Heaven's Light/Hellfire and I've realized it's much more serene than I thought. It's got that bubbling contempt, yes, but Tony Jay sings it like he deserves it and thus keeps a tone of authority throughout. Jonathan Young's version (one of my personal favs) does give off that driven to further madness feel, but also drives home that hatred for the inherit sinful nature of himself. He is better than man, better than those so-called people out there and, yet, he is poisoned by lust.

I, personally, love a Hellfire that starts dark and gets darker. Contempt becomes rage, pleads become demands. The original has a lot of trills, which, I get, illustrates the flurry of it all, but I think more dissonance would also be nice. Those beautiful sustained chords with one note that feels like a forced puzzle piece. Especially after the ethereal beauty that is Heaven's Light. Then again, Hellfire has it's own ethereal beauty, just in a more terrifying way
