We had c side (buffet style). It cost a block to get in. Thanks! What do you want to do after school? You're doing OT right?
Ohh so market used to be c side! We don't call them blocks anymore, they're swipes now haha. Yeah I'm doing pre-OT so I'm going to have to apply to the school of rehab later! I'm pretty nervous so I'm just hoping to get through this year first haha
I'm guessing market to go is just Eddie's redone. They had sandwiches and you could do some grocery shopping there. Cereal, milk, etc. I'd save up my blocks and use them at the end of the week and stock up on stuff. I loved the chick fil a there. I had a lot of classes in the cathedral so it was super convenient. I'd love to get into adoption law. At least then I'd feel like I'd be doing something noble and right. Oil and gas law was just big companies getting richer.
Ohh okay yeah market to go is Eddie’s haha. Yeah same I have a lot of classes in Cathy so I usually eat at chick fil a :) What did you used to call market central? That’s awesome! Aw I’m sure you’re still making a different in the oil and gas law field. But adoption law sounds amazing, best of luck to you!
Eddies was accessible from Forbes and C side was under Tower C. We had Cathedral Cafe (is chick fil a still there?) but it only took dining dollars. This is so cliche but after my daughter was born I knew I couldn't work, at least not while she was super young. She's three now and once she's in school I absolutely want to go back. I worked in oil and gas law which is as exciting as you think it is so I'd want to get into a different area of law.
Tower C? I don’t think we even have a dining hall in Tower C, Market and Market to-go are under Towers A and B! And yes chick fil a is still there! I’m so happy there’s a chick fil a on campus and they still only take dining dollars haha. Oh wow haha I didn’t even know there was a oil and gas law! What area of law do you want to get into?
They give you a fridge, a microwave, and a tv?! I am so jealous though my blue microwave was all the rage, lol. So are the floors coed then? In Tower A back then the first nine floors were guys and the upper floors were girls. Music practice rooms? A gym? A patio? What?! Now I am super jealous. What are the eating places called now? Back then we had Schenley in the union, Eddies and C Side under the towers. Character limit. I'll answer about Psych in the next one.
cont: I really liked Psych, especially the abnormal stuff. I even applied to grad school for forensic psychology. That didn't pan out and I ended up with a paralegal certificate working in a law firm but I still really like that stuff. My advice would be take a variety of classes. I took everything from abnormal, to evolutionary psych, to child development. Really let me know that I liked finding out what's going on in the brain, and I was more methodical than emotional.
Yeah my roommate and I were so lucky to have gotten Nordenberg! It was basically everyone’s first choice haha. And yep the floors are coed, one side is girls and the other side is guys. Oh woah I’ve never heard of “Eddies” and “C Side” which was which? We just call the eating places by their actual names: Market, Market to-go, Schenley, and Cathedral Cafe.
And oh cool that’s awesome, I’m taking developmental psych right now and it’s pretty interesting! So are you woking as a paralegal at a law firm now? Psych might be able to help out with that like cases right? Haha I don’t know anything about law. But yeah I’m definitely going to take some variety of psychology classes for my next semester! Thanks for the advice :)
Oh wow! I was looking at that building last week and thinking how awesome it must be if you have a view of the cathedral anyway. What are they like inside? I lived in Tower A, Amos, and then off campus on Dawson and Bates. I majored in Psych, mainly so I could still graduate in four years and had no idea what I wanted to do. I saw got minors in Administration of Justice and Italian Studies. What are you studying?
yeah I’m so lucky to have a perfect view of Cathy haha it’s really nice in Nordenberg! everything’s new, tv/microwave/microfridge comes with our rooms too, and on every floor there is a girls lounge and guys lounge with a tv and study rooms! we also have individual shower stalls with doors and a place to change; we also have a patio, fitness center, and music practice rooms. we basically have everything except food haha my dorm definitely helped with my transition into college too :) oh cool! I’m studying occupational therapy with psych as my undergrad! how was studying psych or do you have any tips for me as a psych major?
Hahaha. Hemingways. And we called the library Club Hillman, "Cathy" didn't exist yet, and some of the dorms too. It's crazy seeing how much has changed.
oh I haven’t heard people call Hemingways Hems before! Wow yeah that’s crazy how much has changed even the lingo haha. I’m living in the newest dorm (Nordenberg) and it’s awesome :) what did you study at Pitt?
We did! We were out on Bigelow for the whole thing. The cathedral is my favorite building. Went to Hems (do people still call it Hems?) after and felt ancient.
Wow that’s cool! My friends and I were on the union lawn :) I don’t think we still call it Hems, what’s Hems? haha
2005. My husband and I were just in town for homecoming. I love going back and seeing how things have changed/stayed the same.
oh wow that’s awesome!! did you and your husband see the laser/fireworks show? it was pretty amazing especially how Cathy lit up :)
I went to Pitt too! When did you graduate?
hey! I'm actually still a student at Pitt! when did you graduate?
