Is this real life? In the case of Sébastien Rousseau’s art, it sure does look that way. This talented Montrealer is a Senior 3D artist at Ubisoft who has created environment art for Splinter Cell, Prince of Persia, Assassin’s Creed and many more. The gaming work is awesome, but we also love his landscapes and nature close-ups. Très bien, Sébastien!
From putting Cookie in the hot seat (yum!) to helping men look fine, Brett Johnson covers it all as a copywriter and journalist. He’s done in-depth interviews with then Presidential hopeful Barack Obama, Jamie Foxx and The Roots, just to name drop a few. Impressive stuff, Brett!
Boids of a feather flock to get portraits done together! Matt Chun makes big birds and beautiful faces from his studio in a small Australian fishing village. When he’s not painting or putting on exhibitions, he’s pulling shots at his espresso shop next door. What a horrible life, Matt! Good luck to you.
High flyin’ acrobats! Turtle beach parties! Anxious owls! We can’t exactly read Hila Noam’s comics for National Geographic Kids Israel but we love her style and super fun animal adventures. The process shot gif does such a great job of showing how her panels come to life. Two talking cat thumbs up!
The term “outdoorsy” doesn’t begin to cover nature enthusiast and writer, Lexi Dowdall. She regularly sets out for adventure and documents along the way whether it’s a story about a well-traveled family Pendleton blanket or chasing powder in the Teton mountain range. Her knack for social media, marketing and storytelling are easy to see even in the way she presents her work for backcountry.com with readership results and feedback. Well done!
Creative Director and Writer Ryan Martindale has a boatload of big name work in his portfolio. From top agencies to going solo, he’s been a part of ad campaigns that get noticed. We especially like the work done with 72andSunny that’s meant to get Angelenos hyped on the bid to become host city. It’s got Will Ferrell, Kobe Bryant, chef Roy Choi, Jessica Alba, Reggie Watts, city officials and young Olympic hopefuls dreaming about where they’ll be in 2024. Pretty great stuff!
Claudia Corrent’s portfolio is full of sun-bleached scenes from Italy, Greece, Tunisia and Morocco. She’s a freelance photographer in Bolzano, Italy with a beautiful aesthetic and an eye for muted color. All of her shots are dreamy but we particularly like the behind-the-scenes look at the opening of a new natural history museum. Watch out for that moose! He’ll getcha.
Have you ever wanted a sparkly of your very own? Prepare to be dazzled like a magpie by Magdalena Bałdys’ sweet beadwork. She’s a jewelry designer in Poland who makes intricate bracelets, earrings and necklaces out of teenie tiny baubles. What a treasure!
We love the fun mix of experimental art, animated gifs and modern graphic design in Adrianna Napiorkowski’s portfolio. We particularly like how she presents her Warsaw 59 font set which was inspired by mid-century Polish furniture and architecture. It’s cool cool cool and very pretty in pastel pink.
One of our mega-favo-rites, Caitlin Hackett posted an awesome time lapse video of how she kicks off her mythological critter doodles. It’s super duper and you should watch it with your face!
Lookit these sweet tatted hand doodles by Alice Parsons. She’s an illustrator, game designer and owl enthusiast living in London. Alice says she loves archaeology, cowboys, Indians, fashion and snow but she mostly just loves owls. Well, HOOOOO can blame her? Owls are rad and so are her illustrations.
We’ll never be royals, but we can look like rockstars thanks to the magical talents of Amber D. She’s a makeup artist in Los Angeles who keeps Lorde looking flawless whether she’s on tour, appearing on SNL or hanging out with Yeezy at Paris Fashion Week. From Haim’s Billboard cover to haute couture editorial shoots, Amber’s portfolio impresses. Nicely done!
Take a mental hike through the lush forest floors and mighty mountain ranges found in Michael Schauer’s portfolio. He’s a photographer from Munich capturing the kind of landscapes that make you want to head for the hills asap. Let’s grab a walking stick and go!
We bet that when you think of making portraits, you don’t automatically picture your car first. That’s where Oslo photographer Kuba Szafarz comes in! He’s more than happy to hop into the driver’s seat to document your sweet ride. From Ford Escorts to VW Sciroccos, he’s done a wheelie good job of making Carbonmade the perfect vehicle for his work. Let’s face it, final work is sometimes few and far between and life is busy busy. That’s why we highly recommend adding a Log to your portfolio. It’s the quickest way to show signs of life while you’re out there making magic happen. You can post a snap of your friendly dog assistant, cool workspace or project in progress to let everyone know what’s going on behind-the-scenes.
Look for Log in the admin panel when you’re signed into your Carbonmade. It’ll help you keep things nice and toasty. Enjoy!
We love seeing personal work in your portfolios especially if it’s as cool as these tarot illustrations by Drew Berry. She’s a freelance background painter in LA working for Cartoon Network, Titmouse Inc, Nickelodeon and Dreamworks. That’s an impressive client roster and we hope there’s even more good stuff in the cards for this talented doodler.
