My favorite album of the summer, from young Nashville rockers Colony House (formerly called Caleb). Dare you not to dance in your chair to "Silhouettes" (track 1), though my favorite is deeper in the album. When I heard the band play "Waiting For My Time To Come" a few weeks ago, it hit me like a ton of bricks. If you're in a restless place, this one is for you.

I had the opportunity to see Swedish star Erik Hassle last night at a Sony Music showcase and... holys*** he is really good. I'd expect a Sam Smith-like rise to the top, so listen up now and get that hipster cred.

Once of the cooler things we made when I worked at Paste magazine was the Paste DVD Sampler that accompanied the print publication. 

On the first one, we had this great music video from a practically unknown band from Ohio called The Black Keys. It's so low-budget it's better than most high-budget music videos.

While most in the Memphis audience are extremely attentive, the lack of banter and the strange sonic forays connecting the dots between songs seem to irritate some fans, especially the ones drunkenly screaming for Adams’ most-requested tune, “Come Pick Me Up,” a breakup ballad from his lauded 2000 debut, Heartbreaker. (“So she took a couple records,” Adams later says of the song’s antagonist. “Big fuckin’ deal. I just made that shit up anyway. I stole her records.”)
